The First Female Chief of Police in Windsor Ontario: Pam Mizuno

Welcome to the St. Clair College Women in STEM speaker series Podcast, brought to you by the Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre, located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

This episode features the first female, Chief of Police in Windsor Ontario, Pam Mizuno. Born in Toronto, and raised in Brampton, Pam then moved to Kingston as the head coach of a gymnastics club. After attending the University of Windsor for their Social Work program, she then got hired onto the police force, and finished her degree while she was working. Pam was hired on as a Cadet in 1994 and has since moved through various areas in the police force including traffic follow-up, human rights projects, sergeant, patrol officer, investigative unit, and now Chief of Police.

Pam shares her journey getting into the police force, having to prove herself in a male-dominated field, the many opportunities out there for women in STEM, and much more.
