Can we use the old texts, books & methods in our modern age?
Don't we know better in 2025, when we did in the 1700s, 1600s or 1800s?I'm joined by trainer Bart Hartogsveld.Bart’s passion for horses & riding started at a young age. After discovering classical dressage in 2016, he studied with numerous influential & well-known instructors. In his lessons, Bart additionally draws from his experience about learning processes, reinforcement, & stress that he acquired during his master’s & PhD studies in psychology and neuroscience. Since 2018 he focused on teaching the art of dressage through international clinics & private lessons locally.
For the past 10years Bart has gathered old texts & books on dressage in a database. In the database you can find historical literature on dressage & the training of horses, up until about 1900, & there is links to free digital versions provided. Find the database here
