ep1 - An outlook into the upcoming XV World Forestry Congress with Mr. Peter Csoka - WFC Associate Secretary General
In this episode, our very first guest Mr. Peter Csoka - the Associate Secretary General of the XV World Forestry Congress - shares his personal journey into forestry and the forest sector. He then addresses the importance of international events such as the World Forestry Congress as global fora to discuss the major challenges and existential threats we are facing, including biodiversity and climate crises, food shortages etc - and why this particular Congress is very vital to the future of forestry and what the stake of youth and underrepresented groups are in the Congress.
Further, he discusses what topics that used to be on the forest agenda have seen a come back - and which of the current topics are most promising or exciting - and worth our attention for the impact they could potentially have.
Finally, Mr. Csoka reflects on some of the challenges youth and young changemakers have to face today and he concludes with a piece of advice to youth - especially those who can actively participate in the World Forestry Congress
