In the end, misunderstandings are cleared, but not without blood. A monk lies fallen. Duan Tiande, the traitor responsible for past tragedies, escapes north with Li Ping, still pregnant with Guo Xiaotian’s child. Qiu Chuji and the Seven Freaks make a pact: they will each search for the children of Guo and Yang. Eighteen years from now, the next generation will meet—and prove who is worthy to avenge the past.
