About Kim B Miller Kim B Miller is Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita. She is the First African American Poet Laureate for that region. Kim performed at The National Black Theater in New York, University of Pikeville (in Kentucky), La Peña Cultural Center in California and many other venues.

Kim is the 2023, 2022 and 2021 DMV Renaissance Awards Haikuist of the Year. She has won that award for three consecutive years. Kim was awarded the Vivien H. Hansbury Award for: Trailblazing A Path For Women In The Field Of Creative Arts.

Voice of America-VOA did a documentary on Kim. Voice of America is the largest and oldest US funded international broadcaster.Kim’s a speaker and a facilitator that cultivates growth. She uses her words to connect people to their strength. She was one of the commencement speakers at Bard High School Early College DC.

Kim was the keynote speaker at the Rappahannock Writers’ Conference and she facilitated workshops at University of California, Berkeley and Rochester Institute of Technology (NY).

Kim is the author of several books.
