हम कई बार जी लेना चाहते हैं, कविताओं में, वक़्तों के हिस्सों में, उसी जगह से एक कविता.-- मेरी सारी कविताओं में
सिमट जाते हैं हम दोनों-
खिलखिलाकर गले लगते हैं
कहते हैं दो-चार बातें
और हो जाते हैं अपने आप में मशरूफ़-
किसी दिन ऐसा असल में हो
तो मैं छोड़ दूँ कविताएं लिखना
और मशरूफ़ हो जाऊँ तुममें-
यूँ कविताओं में सिमटे रहना
अब और नहीं होता।।
