#8: Int'l Development Minister Karina Gould
In this episode, our Chief of Podcast Development Krystal Chan speaks with Ontario Liberal MP Karina Gould, who represents the riding of Burlington and serves in Prime Minister Trudeau's cabinet as Minister as International Development. Before entering politics, she worked with the Organization of American States in Washington D.C. as a consultant in the Migration and Development Program. She holds degrees from McGill University in Montreal and Oxford University in London. She was first elected to parliament in 2015 and served as Minister of Democratic Institutions before taking on the International Development portfolio after the 2019 election. Her nomination by Prime Minister Trudeau as Minister of Democratic Institutions in 2017 made her the youngest female cabinet minister in Canadian history.  Listen in to hear Krystal speak with Minister Gould about COVID-19 at home and abroad, how the government is helping young Canadians, her vision of Canada's future, and her advice for young people wanting to get into politics.  YOUTH, POLITICS, ACTION! is a podcast created by the Youth Political Assembly to help youth across Canada connect with politics and government in a better way.
