قادها شغفها إلى أن تكون واحدة من رائدات الأعمال البارزات في مجال التعليم؛ إنها المهندسة السودانية فدوى سليمان حسين التي كرست وقتها وطاقاتها لتقديم خدمة تعليمية متميزة في بلدها السودان منذ عقود.
فكرة بدأت من التحدي الذي يواجه أمهات عاملات مثل فدوى، لتتحول إلى أكاديمية سليمان حسين التي انطلقت نواتها بدعم من منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية (اليونيدو)، وتحديدا مكتب ترويج الاستثمار والتكنولوجيا التابع للمنظمة في البحرين بالتعاون مع المركز الدولي لريادة الأعمال والابتكار.
وقالت فدوى لأخبار الأمم المتحدة "ساعدتنا اليونيدو وأمدتنا بالأفكار، وكيف نبدأ طريقنا نحو بناء المشروع".
ثم تجسد التعاون في "خطوة أولى" كما وصفتها فدوى، وهي دمج الأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في الأكاديمية، وتحديدا الأطفال المصابين بالتوحد.
وأضافت فدوى: "كان يأتي ممثلو مكتب اليونيدو إلى السودان وينظمون محاضرات وندوات للتلاميذ، ويساعدونا في زرع بذرة ريادة الأعمال لدى الأطفال منذ عمر 10 سنوات".
فكانت الأكاديمية بالتعاون مع اليونيدو تشجع الأطفال على بدء مشروعات صغيرة مثل طباعة كتاب أو إعداد مواد غذائية، وعرض المشروع وكيف سيتم تسويقه داخل الأكاديمية.
