みなさんご無沙汰しております。先日いつものようにツイッター現Xを覗いていたところ「カナダでの永住権の取得方法」についての討論がなされていたのでそれについて私なりの考えを述べてみました。その発端となったツイートではファミリーサポート、つまり結婚による永住権取得者が羨ましいと。要するに結婚などによる取得は他の方法と比べて簡単なので羨ましいとのことでした。そのツイートを発端にいろんな人がいろんな考えを述べておりましたので参加してみようと思い、私の考えをつらつら語ってみました。あくまでの私の一個人の意見ですので悪しからず。

The other day, I was casually scrolling through X (formerly Twitter), and I came across a discussion on how to obtain permanent residency in Canada. It caught my interest, so I decided to share my own thoughts on the topic.
The original post that sparked the conversation expressed envy toward those who gained PR through family sponsorship—specifically, through marriage—suggesting that this route is "easier" compared to others.
From there, various people chimed in with their own perspectives, and since I had a few thoughts myself, I decided to join the conversation and lay out my personal take on the matter.

完璧な国って本当にないんですよね。カナダは再三「生きやすい国」だという事は言ってきましたが「日本ほど住みやすい国」では無い事を今一度申し上げたいと思います。カナダにも日本と同じように国民保険制度がありまして、医療に関してはアメリカほど崩壊はしていませんし、お金が理由で医療を受けられないという事はありません。が、やはり制度は少し日本と違いますし、少し日本人からすると不便だと感じる制度になっています。以前も一回カナダの医療制度については話しているのですが今一度ザックリと日本との違いを少しご紹介します。
There really is no perfect country. I've often mentioned that Canada is a 'livable country,' but I want to emphasize once again that it is not as comfortable to live in as Japan. Canada has a national insurance system similar to Japan's, and its healthcare system is not as fragmented as in the U.S., so money does not usually prevent people from receiving medical care. However, the system is still somewhat different from Japan's and can be considered inconvenient from a Japanese perspective. I've discussed Canada's healthcare system before, but I would like to highlight the key differences from Japan again.

今回はLonoさんと就活詐欺の話をしてみました。たまたまツイッターでLonoさんの就活のツイートを見て詐欺の匂いがしたのでお節介だとは思いつつもリプしてみたら後日やはりそうのようだったとのこと。私が経験した詐欺にも手法が似ているので今回は警告も兼ねて二人の経験を比べてみる事に！
I invited Lono to my show to talk about job-hunting scams. I happened to see Lono’s tweets about job hunting on Twitter and it felt like a scam, so I decided to reply, even though I thought it might be a bit intrusive. Later, it turned out that it was indeed a scam. Since the method used is similar to the scam I experienced, I decided to compare our experiences this time as a warning.

今回は先日のアカデミー賞でちょい燃した事件についてです。
北米では人種差別はまだまだ根深く繊細な問題です。カナダで人種差別が無いなんて事はありません。大っぴらにやってないだけです。世界的な表彰式でもアジア人がどれだけ当たり前のように見下されているのかが証明されました。しかも多分悪気はないので余計やばいです。w
これが無意識な差別だという事を証明してくれる我が旦那の反応と会話を最後におまけで入れてますのでよかったら聞いてみてください。

Racism remains a deeply rooted and sensitive issue in North America. It’s not true that Canada is free from racism; it's just less overt. The global awards ceremony highlighted how Asians are often looked down upon as a matter of course. What's even more troubling is that it might not have been intentional, which makes it even worse.

今回はまた大学に関する事です。日本ではまだメジャーでは無いですがカナダなどの欧米諸国では一般的でかなりベネフィシャルな習慣だと思うので是非紹介したいと思い、エピソードにまとめてみました。若い頃の時間は貴重な分その影響力も大きいです。なので日本国内のみの習慣に従うのでは無く、世界目線でのいろいろな習慣などもみて将来設計や選択をするのも悪く無いのでは無いのかなと思います。
I’m discussing university-related topics again. Although taking a gap year is not yet common in Japan, I believe it’s a well-established and highly beneficial practice in Western countries like Canada. I wanted to introduce it in this episode. Time in your younger years is precious, and its impact is significant. Therefore, I think it’s worth looking at various global practices and not just sticking to customs limited to Japan when planning your future and making choices.
