Your company (the people you regularly hang out with), is important. The Bible says that "bad company corrupts good character."
Three main forms of bad company you could have as a Christian are friends that don't go to church, a boy friend or girl friend that doesn't go to church, or worst of all, compromising Christian friends.
Compromising Christians are people that live a double life, half in the world and half in church. People like this cause new believers to stumble and fall, and are very problematic in the church.
The Bible says..
““I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation 3:15-16 NLT
God doesn't want us to be "half in and half out," He desires for us to "go all in" for Him! .
