A Letter to America was born in May 2020, following the beating of 14 year old Elijah Tufono by a police officer in Rancho Cordova, just a few weeks before the horrific murder of George Floyd and the historic protests that subsequently rocked the world. We talk about another case of anti-Black police brutality—the horrific injuries sustained by unarmed Jacob Blake after he was shot in the back 7 times by Kenosha, Wisconsin police while Blake’s children watched. Blake is now paralyzed from the waist down, he had most of his intestines removed, and suffered severe injuries to his liver & kidneys. We also discuss White privilege at work as the White male murderer of two Kenosha Black Lives Matter supporters walked away with his long gun & police did absolutely nothing.
