When we first spoke to Peter Samuelson on The Happy Soul Podcast, he briefly mentioned that his now wife, Saryl, was someone he had previously had 1 first date with, didn't call for weeks and then only called back when he needed an accountant.
The hilarity of this piece of the story was enticing enough that I HAD to ask if he and Saryl would be on to share their story about meeting, separating and ultimately, falling in love.
Now, as they share their 40 year wedding anniversary, today Dec 24, 2025, I am honoured to highlight the story of not just how they met, but their dating lives long before ever finding each other.
I have to be honest here and say that when Peter and Saryl first arrived on my computer screen, ready to record, I immediately assumed that Saryl must be many years younger than Peter (sorry Peter), only to find out that she is actually 3 years older than him and that they were in their mid 30's when they met each other.
This has stuck out in my head ever since and has been running through my brain on repeat for this huge reason: As someone who is currently in their mid 30's, sometimes we can think the best of life is already behind us. However, listening to Peter and Saryl share their story of falling in love, and building an entire family together (amongst many other things) really proves that life has just begun and there is an entire lifetime ahead of you, no matter where you are at.
I hope that you are able to hear the beauty and share in the laughter with Peter and Saryl today.
Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary Peter and Saryl.
You two are a inspiring.

On today's episode of A Love Story, Danny is sharing the Love story behind him and Raffi. Going back to the first time they met, the ways that she pranked him, when he first heard her laugh, how they were constantly laughing with one another, and the many beautiful memories they shared together.
It's a beautiful story, filled with more sadness than most love stories have, simply because of the heart break Danny is still working through.
I encourage you to grab a notebook and some tissues to take in the incredible pieces of advice Danny shares and to wipe away the tears that are sure to come as you can feel his heart and is love for Raffi in every word he speaks.
Thank you Danny.
All the love,

Deanna and Keith have been good friends for years.
Truthfully, Deanna paid me to be her friend for awhile, before I realized how awesome she is and dropped the charges. (I was a Personal Trainer and we were strangers when she hired me and we became friends during the process)
Once I got to know both Keith and Deanna (Whom I was roommates with for awhile), I saw into how wonderful their relationship is.
And I don't mean it's full of cheese and romance and cutesy things (although, maybe that happens too).
What I mean is, it's frickin REAL.
It's blunt.
It's open communication.
It's honest.
It's a balanced mix of she wants to spend all the money and he wants to hoard it, but they find a beautiful middle ground.
AND it's full of laughter and fun.
Join me as we laugh along the wild ride these two have been through AND still manage to find the laughter and keep the love.
In 20 years together, they have lost Keith's Brother, Keith's Mother, Keith's Father, Deanna's Dad, AND Deanna's double lung transplant, Keith's cancer surgery and treatments, many pet losses and beyond...
And yet...
They are always laughing and always pushing through.
Thanks you two.
This was fun.
Cheers!

Emily grew up a city girl.
She had (and still has) a passion for writing, fitness, academia, and her independence. Emily loved the idea of travel and adventure, and never really saw marriage or kids in her future.
She especially never imagined living in a whole new world, or any of her ideas of the future changing. But this story is how that all changed.
In just one short trip to the UK, to a quaint little farm, for a friends wedding, she met Jack. In the heart of the beautiful county of Cornwall, her whole world changed. But, this story isn't just about the romantic meeting and endless bliss. It's digging deep into how this shifted her ideas of marriage and children, the inner conversations she had to have with herself about what she really wanted and if this whole new life was really for her.
Dive in with us to this beautiful story, full of internal conversations, and overcoming our preconceived notions of what life is supposed to look like.
With Abundant love,
Sammi
