Before we continue our twisting journey through Derry, Maine, we discuss an overlooked Southern gothic story from a few years back. Religion, family, love, and music all come together in a powerful tale. When we do head up north, we finally have some positive things to say - sorta.

It is no secret that we are long time Stephen King fans. We have talked about his movies, books, and television shows. We even reviewed a documentary that included him as a talking head. So, it is not surprising that we would cover the new HBO series adapted from one of his works. But we never thought we would cover something by his son in the same episode.

We are big fans of lore. It is great when a movie will fill you in on history. Even when it is not necessary to forward the plot, the added flavor can give a story that extra oomph that puts it over the top. Stephen King’s It is an excellent example. The Hell House LLC franchise is how not to do it. We talk about both in this week’s show.

Few things are more associated with Halloween that witches. This week we are not only reviewing a witch movie, we are dealing the most infamous witch trials in American history. We then have a deep cut that is perfect for 31 Days of Halloween consumption. An Italian exploitation master delivers one of the best cheesy horror movies of the 1980s.

We are halfway through the spookiest month of the year and have a lot to talk about. We have covered some great indie and horror movies on our humble little podcast. Which is why our first movie this week really disappointed us. And our feature presentation was just confusing. Not bad, but very confusing.

This week, we begin our coverage from Fantasia. And what a pair of movies we have for you! Before we get to one of the fest’s newer movies, we take things back a few decades. In 1977, the Shaw Brothers released a movie meant to capitalize on the worldwide success of Star Wars. Terrestrial is a world premiere from Fantasia that has some strong names attached to it. Unfortunately, there are also some strange writing decisions.

It is one of our favorite times of year as Fantasia is upon us. This week we give audiences a taste of what is to come. But before we go full blown film fest, we have a pair of witch movies that snuck up on us. One is an artsy exploitation flick that is incredibly hard to describe. The other may be the perfect film for budding kino lovers.

We are back with a special edition! This week we talk about the sequel to one of our favorite movies of 2022. Usually, when we do these shows it is a fairly quick turnaround. There is about a week of box office and discourse and that is it. However, we had a little bit more for our talk about M3GAN 2.0.

This includes a look at our favorite and least favorite films, along with a discussion about how tough things can be and how lucky we are. We also review a folk horror movie that is about a sexual awakening and independence.

Summer is here and so is the Tribeca Festival. This week we have an interesting film from the fest about the father of gonzo journalism - kinda. We also look at a moody vampire flick that deals with a familiar topic (at least when it comes to vampire movies.)
