He perceived himself separate from his physical body, observed the operation from above, and then found himself in a luminous, nurturing environment filled with overwhelming wellbeing, love, and understanding, where time and fear did not exist. Jack intuitively sensed the presence of people connected to him and an unspoken knowing that he must return, after which he awoke in recovery with an intense feeling of loss at leaving that state. The experience left him deeply changed, convinced that consciousness exists beyond the brain, that life continues beyond physical death, and that this awareness is natural, timeless, and independent of religious doctrine.

Lucia is severely allergic to narcotic pain medications. During her gallbladder surgery, a medication error caused a severe reaction, and she went into cardiac arrest. This is one of the better experiences I have read lately that describes the light. She believed she was dying and felt herself move from panic into deep calm and acceptance. Within the Light, she experienced a life review and a profound sense of home. When she saw her husband Pete, she understood her life with him was not finished. Though she did not want to return, she accepted that she was needed. She was then pulled back into her body, gasping in pain and confusion, surrounded by medical staff. The last thing she heard was someone saying she had almost died.

When he was fifteen, the stress of his parents fighting and pressure to succeed pushed him into a breakdown. A psychiatrist misdiagnosed him, and the medication caused numbness, paralysis on one side, and a terrifying near-death experience. He felt himself leaving his body, moving through fading vision toward a bright, peaceful light where all fear vanished. A young man—who later looked like his grandfather—appeared and stopped him from going further. He suddenly returned to his body and later recovered. The experience changed him deeply: he became more sensitive to people’s emotions and felt a stronger connection to God, believing the event happened for a reason and gave him gifts meant to help others.

When he was seventeen in 1972, he lost consciousness after taking drugs and entered a vivid, peaceful realm. He travelled through a dark tunnel into a radiant garden where beings of light communicated with him through pure understanding. They showed him Earth’s history, life on other worlds, and the truth that every thought affects creation. He eventually met a great Light he felt was God, who told him the meaning of life was love. He didn’t want to return, but was told he had a mission only he could do. As he agreed, angelic beings sang in honour of him—me, a lost kid who never felt valued. He came back deeply changed. Though he lived an ordinary life—marriage, children, military, police—he believed his real purpose was to show kindness and spread love. Now, facing the loss of a young relative, he trusts that death leads back to that realm of love where nothing is ever truly lost.

As normal thoughts returned, the experience faded, but its impact stayed with him.

In August 2005, Carolyn was rushed to hospital with life-threatening complications. Her body was failing, and doctors said she had only forty-eight hours to live. After pleading with all my being, I was granted a second chance.I found myself in cosmic space, shrinking into a dot of consciousness. The Voice, now plural yet unified, said, "In the beginning was God..." I understood that God is the source, boundary, and life of all existence. I was within God and yet myself. I saw a past life and was reminded of my purpose: to help others awaken spiritually. When I awoke in the operating room, only ninety minutes had passed, though it felt like a journey through eternity.
