In this episode, we discuss such topics as "How is Everybody going to Survive Together on this Planet" and "Why should we study Aikido anyway".

In this episode, we begin to explore the unpublished written works of Kanai Sensei as a foundation for a discussion of what Aikido is (and is not), what budo means in Aikido, and what we are seeking through our Aikido practice.  Please note that this episode may not be suitable for the kids, because we touch on a core martial issue: lethal force. 

In this first episode we discuss the goals of these podcasts and the history of how Kanai Sensei and his fellow uchi deshi (live-in students of O Sensei) came to America to bring Aikido to us.  We also share some (I hope) fun and interesting stories of learning from, traveling with and taking ukemi for Kanai Sensei and other direct students of O Sensei.
