She did it! Alice became the first person to walk the entire length of Saudi Arabia! She speaks to us today from Riyadh where she is enjoying a well-earned bath, spa, and party at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Hotel. Congratulations to Alice, her crew, and, of course, her camels!

Alice is ahead of schedule on her trek across Saudi Arabia. Saudi hospitality, camel feet, ancient artefacts, and sand are her themes this week.

Today, Alices walk across Saudi Arabia has been slowed by a sore footed friend. Although the expedition is ahead of schedule, Lulu the camel is suffering from the rough volcanic terrain south of Taif. Alice and Company have come up with a plan to give Lulu a chance to heal up and join them a bit further down the line.

After 13 days on her trek across Saudi Arabia, Alice and her crew are enjoying a day off. Alice brings us up to speed on the brutal heat, the gruelling pace, the hospitality of the local folk, the health and happiness of the expedition camels, and two surprise romantic inquiries.

Alice has just arrived in Medina, Saudi Arabia. She begins the second leg of her walking expedition across the length of Saudi Arabia tomorrow morning at the exact spot where she finished the first leg. 70 gruelling days of walking await her on this epic quest.

After our summer hiatus, we're back! Alice has been training for her 1300 Km walk from Medina, Saudi Arabia to Najran, Yemen. However, her training was not in desert sands, but in the wet, boggy, and midge infested Hebrides off the coast of Scotland.

Among the well watered, and now flowering walnut trees Alice is back in Imlil playing games with the kids in the family compound. We also learn a very useful Tashelheit phrase which is used when departing your host's home.

Alice has had a very busy two weeks. Two weeks that included hiking the 4000 meter high Mount Toubkal, overnighting in the royal suite in Riyadh, planting trees in a new Unesco park, and joyfully reuniting with Juicy and Lucy.

Alice has returned from her tour down the Berwickshire Coastal Path to a stormy Imlil. After this week's rainy sojourn with her kitties, Alice is returning to Saudi Arabia to appear on a panel at the Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition 2025 in Medina.

Alice is hiking the Berwickshire Coastal Path this week and has challenging cell service. So, for today's show, we go back to Saudi Arabia where Alice had a great conversation with Mohammed Modhayan who is the Vice President for American and European Marketing at the Saudi Tourism Authority.

This week, Alice interviews Kiran Haslam. Kiran is the Chief Marketing Officer for the Diriyah Gate Development Authority and he shares very thoughtful insights about life, travel, and tourism in Saudi Arabia.

Alice is back in Morocco this week, but not for long...she is going to the Berlin Travel Fair and has an April engagement in New York with a group of folks with a rather unusual enthusiasm.

Alice is at the gates of Medina, 900 kilometers away from the start of her expedition and just slightly ahead of schedule! She is relieved to be so near the end of this stage and is already looking forward to the next stage. Alice also included an interview with Harry Kuril, who walked with her for a couple of days. Harry is one of the first people to solo walk the Trans Caucasian Trail.

Lucy and Juicy (the camels) have had a difficult time of it since last Alice checked in. But, Alice is doing well and had a fantastic time in Alula. As of today, she has reached the 600 Km point in her expedition and is looking forward to reaching Medina in another 600 Km.

A sore-footed Alice calls in from just south of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve in Saudi Arabia where she met some friends from her Nabatean expedition. Alice is making good time, but the going has not all been easy due, in part, to two runaway camels.

Alice is blister-footed after walking 50 kilometers in the first two days of her walk across Saudi Arabia. She could have made better time, but she was greeted with such gracious hospitality her progress was somewhat delayed.

Alice is in Imlil busily preparing for her expedition across the length of Saudi Arabia, which begins in less than two weeks! She is "training" (her term, not mine) for the long walk and getting her shoes ready to battle the sand.
