His mix of Cali Lowrider and love of drifting takes his custom shop to another level. Part of the reason his paint and panel business has such a list of stunning cars coming through the shop.
Raising a family, building a business and finding ways of building and expressing through automotive art are what set apart Dane and his shop LowCo Customs.

It is a relaxed but informative chat filled with knowledge, humour and plenty of car culture energy. If you love performance engines, fabrication, tuning and hearing from the people who make it all happen, this episode is one to tune into.
In this episode, we sit down with AK Racing, the well-known performance workshop based in Virginia, Queensland. The conversation also pulls back the curtain on their work ethic, their community, and the mindset that keeps them pushing for better results on and off the track. Whether you’re into high performance cars, tuning culture or just love hearing from people who live and breathe the automotive world, this episode brings an authentic and engaging look into one of Queensland’s standout workshops.
In this episode, we sit down with Ben Nothling Motorsport High Performance Sport Scientist, Performance Brake Specialist, and former Conditioning Coach for Brisbane Roar. Ben brings a rare blend of elite-sport performance knowledge and motorsport engineering expertise, breaking down what it really takes to optimise both the athlete and the machine.
We’re also joined by Turbo Yoda, bringing his trademark mechanical wisdom, no BS insights and stories from deep inside Australia’s car culture.
From high performance braking systems to athlete conditioning, race prep, data, and real-world lessons from the workshop and the pitch this episode delivers knowledge, laughs, and a behind the scenes look at the minds pushing performance to the edge.
Jason Ferron, the man behind Keep It Reet, jumps on to talk about building one of Australia’s biggest grassroots drift communities, the chaos behind running events, and what it really takes to keep the Barra wagon on the track.
We’re also joined by Jarrod Deanda, the iconic voice of Formula Drift and one of the most recognisable commentators in global motorsport. He breaks down life behind the mic, wild moments from FD, and gives us an intimate look at the culture from the front row.
After catching the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka coming in just over 2.5 hours, the next part of the journey was getting to the home in Japan purchased by the owners of Drift Japan, Benkei Bruin and Ben Odgers.
We made it to to the town of Ao where the guys picked us up in their van. I've spent the last few years telling my boy to never get in a van with strangers, but here we are!
The traditional home is massive. 8 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 sheds and and views of the rice fields.
Dinner was Japanese BBQ, with Chef Benkei on the tongs and enough meat to give you gout.
Waking up to see the sights for the first time, we check out the sheds, the cars and chat to the team. We have no idea what's happening, just that we are on a massive adventure with these guys as they share their home and their local knowledge with us.
We're still spinning out a little bit, this whole thing is wild!
Join us for an exclusive 1 on 1 chat with Toshi, the CEO of Liberty Walk.We managed to catch Toshi for a quick sit down before he headed back to Japan and in this short but powerful interview, he shares how Liberty Walk began, the story behind their wild designs, and what it took to become one of the most iconic car brands in the world.
Mathew from Cool Drive sat down with us to share some behind the scenes insights. Enjoy this exclusive interview with one of Australia’s biggest parts companies we were lucky to get this rare opportunity, so sit back and enjoy!
In what amounts to proof that pure nonsense is the goal of this show, we just created a new episode.
While on the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka, the idea emerged to discuss the collection of beers Gibbo had purchased and to explain why on earth we are suddenly in Japan.
In short, we're here because our new friends Benki & Odgers from Drift Japan invited us to roll with them to Ebisu Matsuri.
With an arm made of rubber, flights were booked and now we're on and adventure.
We have no idea what's happening and that's part of the fun. Right now, we're making our way to the house they purchased here. Wild times.
Mad Mike Whiddett is a New Zealand drifting icon, a driver who treats the track like a canvas and drift cars like weapons. Rising from motocross roots, he carved his name into motorsport through fearless speed, precision chaos, and a driving style that looks more like controlled fury than simple racing. When Mad Mike gets behind the wheel, it’s not just drifting it’s a show of raw skill and pure adrenaline. His legendary rotary powered machines like MADBUL and RADBUL are more than cars; they’re roaring, flame-spitting beasts crafted to unleash maximum spectacle. Each run is a cloud of smoke, a scream of high RPM, and a perfect slide through corners most drivers fear. Traveling the world, Mad Mike doesn’t just race he inspires, pushing the limits of what a drift car can be and turning every event into something unforgettable.
Sam Eyles never set out to become a YouTube creator.
He grabbed a camera on a two-month off-road trip with his mates, uploaded the footage to share with family, and accidentally sparked one of Australia's best known channels in the 4x4 scene, Built Not Bought.
What you might not realise is that before all this, he was training as a musician in classical guitar and went to university to become an engineer.
There's a lot more to his story than wild V8 swaps.
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Not just any numbers man, my numbers man.
James McKenzie is an accountant who has taught me more about business since I met him than anyone else.
His experience is impressive, however its been his focus on interpersonal skills, mental heath and wellbeing of business owners that has been surprising.
Its why I asked him to be a guest on the show, because as a small business owner, I know just how lonely and brutal that path is. James has become an indispensable part of my own advisory team and when he talk, I can promise you I listen.
You can find him at Dickenson's Accountants
More than 20 years ago, I first met Stuart Fraser. Over the years in country town Brisbane, our paths have continued to cross. Recently he shared that he was looking to run for the position of senator in the upcoming federal election and naturally I asked why on earth he'd want to do that.
The story he told was unexpected, so I asked him to join me on the show.
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Mark Hocking runs a business with a focus on special vehicles. His great joy is finding unique and special cars for his clients nd much of this is a result of moving to Japan in the 90s.
This story has many more twists and turns, especially in the mountains of Japan. When you mention touge, Wangan, Top Secret, HKS and see a glint in his eye, you know that this will be a great story!
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Creative artist and mad scientist? As I try to figure out a way to describe Sketch Coleman, this feels like it sums it up. He spent a fair portion of his life as a musician with producer duo Bombs Away. His day job with Aus Video Co isn't doing things by halves either.
What I really enjoy is his deep dive into hotting up electric bikes. He's on another level with this stuff.
In ARE tradition, we explore many topics and as always a fascinating discussion.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Scott Mitchell is a photographer and cinematographer.
His story has a few twists and turns, especially the bit about being a skipper and how that career came to a close, before picking up a camera and heading to the track with some mates.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeert
Growing up in Guernsey, Marcus was born for adventure. He quickly realised as a boy, that he wanted to be a fighter pilot. A career in the military was the obvious next step.
So how he came to work in Bermuda, become a BMW team driver, race for Aston Martin Test Centre and Kessel Racing Ferrari is a whole other story.
Then to find himself flying warbirds in South-East Queensland. That's another story.
Did I mention he wrote a book on the Russian MiG 29? You guessed it, that's another story.
A very special conversation, with a wonderful man. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Michael's family came from Romania to Australia when he was a boy. From humble beginnings, his father showed him how to work, and if you wanted something - how to make it.
MDS Fab is the business that Michael has built and his expertise is a sight to behold.
