Alessandro Vaccari aka Marthial, born in Milan in 1992, is a DJ and producer resident at Tempio del Futuro Perduto and the founder of the label 24/H Records. A professional DJ inspired by the Detroit techno scene, he blends techno, soul drums, and French electro influences to craft intense and introspective sets. He has performed at renowned international venues such as Tresor and RSO in Berlin, Basis in Utrecht, Fold in London, and Osnova in Kyiv, bringing with him a sonic vision rooted in passion and exploration. Cuba's Åre:gone & Uruguayan William Arist return to Lady Tazz's Mind Medizin with shadowy deep techno excellence. Åre:gone is Havana-born but now Miami-based, having left the repression of his homeland in search of creative freedom. Before leaving, he was a core part of the national scene with both the Vórtice and Rusty Nails collectives, which promoted proper underground techno. He has been crafting his own groovy, organic, and heady sounds for a decade and was last on this label back in 2023 with his ‘Latin Lover’ EP.' Sorry, But I Don't Understand' is his fantastic opener, a spacious affair driven by deep kicks and glitchy claps scattered throughout the mix, next to warped synths and sultry spoken words. 'Minimo Tecnico' has a tougher undercurrent but remains stripped back. Deft details evoke deserted, post-human landscapes that keep the mind busy as the body succumbs to the rhythm of the drums. Espacio Sonoro music school teacher William Arist has also landed here before with his Neo Groove EP in 2023. The Montevideo native operates at the heavier end of the techno spectrum on labels such as Uncage, Planet Rhythm, and Bek Audio, and also has his own label, Perseverancia Records. He kicks off with 'Universal Language', which mixes up tribal hits and unresolved loops that lock you in a moment where time dissolves. Closer 'Tecnica Ancestral' cuts loose with a jumbled off off-grid hits and wiry synths darting about the mix like pinballs. Mary Yuzovskaya’s Monday Off rounds out 2025 with its eighth vinyl-only various artists compilation, arriving 12th December, featuring Feph, Rasser, Mathys Lenne, and Xhato. Opening the record is Florida’s Feph, co-operator of Alchemista Records and Zosimos, with ‘A Realization’, where wild electric currents crackle over a subtle, sharp beat as shocks and zaps scatter into the darkness. Spanish DJ and producer Rasser follows with ‘Constant Pulse’, a hulking techno chugger of warped rhythms and hammering metallic hits. On the flip, France-born Germany-based Mathys Lenne, known for outings on Mord, ORBE, and Blue Hour, offers ‘A Gentle Singularity’, its tumbling percussion and drone-like synth casting a hypnotic spell while sparkling high-end shimmers above. Music has always been a means of coping with the otherness and hybridity Shanti experienced throughout her life. She has been deeply moved by the transcendent ability of music to express concepts, states of consciousness, and conflicting emotions. Shanti’s sets weave a story of the simultaneous despair and yearning that are intertwined with the human condition and illustrate an intentional trajectory through combining and cultivating surreal, atmospheric, and haunting sounds. Enamored by the liminal dynamics of sound, she cohosts Otherworldly Ambiguity with Scum.ee –an experience that is centered around the phenomenon of existing in between and outside of pre-existing concepts and rigid categories. She is also a member of techno collective Research & Development and hosts a monthly radio show, “Liminal Radio” on WIIT 88.9 FM featuring thoughtful artists at the core of Chicago’s underground music scene. This is why she has contributed to many notable online mix series and radio channels. I’m always hungry for new sound experiences, and I’ll put all my soul into it." - Raffaele Attanasio The confines of contemporary music often ensnare a musician in a particular sound. Wrapped up in a box that defines and sells the 'product', that it's easier to digest for the modern consumer. It operates on a plane where it is assimilated in tiny soundbites that are quickly digested and moved on. Sound can get lost amongst trying to 'make it' or get likes. Music is not lost though; it exists as it always has and the passion for composing transcendent and transportive tracks exists in an artist like Raffaele Attanasio. Born to a musician father in his home city of Naples, Attanasio was only satiated when listening to virtuoso maestros like Il Guardiano del Faro and Keith Emerson. Developing his prodigious ear, he trained on drums and then piano and his auspicious ability become apparent early. In his late teens, he ventured into DJing and electronic music production and has garnered plaudits from Jeff Mills, Len Faki and Ben Sims; even performing with Mills in a B2B live set and also Octave One. He found a home within the electronic music community, heading his own label Letter From Jerusalem, and releasing on others, such as Third Wave Black and Non Series. His label even released music from Douglas McCarthy of the band Nitzer Ebb. What has never been lost on Attanasio is his eclectic flair. His releases span from nefarious techno - even releasing under his X-501 alias - to riveting Detroit inspired dance music with soulful piano. That piano may encapsulate a sound not many may equate to the Italian, but he now threads down a course that garners influences from his native Naples and musicians like Keith Jarret Duke Ellington and even Hans Zimmer. His artistic mould is shaped from by his experiences, and these are laid bare in his jazz-tinged sound on his album Nuovo Futuro, which was released on Axis records. Kaleidoscopic in his quenching of musical thirst, Attanasio keeps music in its purest form. These melodic air vibrations evoke something opaque, yet wildly pulchritudinous, regardless of the audience.
