Good girls, bad girls, robots, and explosions!
One splendid morning, A-ko starts her first day at school with her bubbly childhood friend, C-ko, but soon runs afoul of the popular rich girl, B-ko, who has fallen in love with C-ko and wants A-ko out of the picture!
But these are not your ordinary schoolgirls!
There might also be an impending alien invasion but I don't think it's important.

Sidetracked! is a for highlighting recent anime series and discussion topics that didn't quite make the cut to appear on the main podcast.
This is an excerpt from November 2025's episode where me and the 950Club podcast crew went on a side tangent about what Demon Slayer & Chainsaw Man movies' success means for theatrical anime project moving forward.

We are pleased to welcome returning guests, Jamaal and Jack from the 950Club Podcast!
Sword of the Demon Hunter is a historical drama, action anime that we think was undeservedly dropped by most of the anime community because of shallow comparisons to the juggernaut that is Demon Slayer.
Jinya's tragic origins and his quest for revenge transforms into a decades-spanning epic journey of self-discovery and purpose. Jinya's story is full of twists and turns, love and loss, and we think this show could really find an audience amongst the more discerning anime fans.
So, like any good podcaster we took to our microphones and (hopefully) lined out several reasons why we think the show is worth your attention!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has solidified itself as a modern classic. Tanjiro's journey to cure his sister, Nezuko, of a demonic curse has resonated across the world in a way that has caught everyone by surprise!
The franchise has repeatedly shattered worldwide box office returns for Japanese films, and in turn setting a new standard for anime moving forward.

The Ghost in the Shell saga continues with Mamoru Oshii's sequel to the 1995 cyberpunk classic. Ghost in the Shell 2 is an incredibly ambitious (and expensive) film, yet it can come across as a bit unfriendly to general audiences due to its dense narrative themes and trippy visuals.
And in the more than twenty years since Innocence's theatrical release, the project has yet to re-coup its production budget.
