Are you struggling to navigate adult friendship in our modern age? Do you feel like you don't understand how some people just "become friends"? I've had these same feelings too. Every episode I'll get to know a new (or old) friend on a deeper level while we explore our relationship and the friendships we've had through a random theme. Sometimes it'll be serious, most of the time it's fun, but at the end of the day you should feel a little less alone and better equipped to open yourself up to the vulnerability of friendship. The price is high but the reward is great.

Trust

Kate and I talk through our trust issues. Learning how to heal and trust your own instincts when the world has burned you is hard work! Are you really preserved when you shelter yourself away or is it the emotional equivalent to being in a doorless room? Forever watching others have meaningful interaction, experiencing all life has to offer, and not having the courage to hope you won't regret letting others in. Personally, I think it's a life unfulfilled when you choose isolation rather than opportunity.

Sorry for the delay! Part of having adult friendships is dealing with adult schedules!

Today, Gayle Murray and I talk about our experiences with art growing up and how art has made an impact on our lives in all arenas. What is art? Who is it for and how do we connect with someone through it? Hope you enjoy listening to two funny ladies chat about our careers, aspirations, and perspective ethos. Enjoy!

Violence/Abuse

Today, I speak with my artistic and brave friend, Maddie, about growing up in an abusive household, struggles with mental illness, and dependency issues. Best friends have come and gone but you're still left with the pieces. We discuss when it's time to distance yourself from toxic friendships and setting up healthy boundaries.

Imagination

Today, Erica and I talk about 🌈imagination🌈 and living as roommates in our 20s. This is a sillier version of what I usually do because how can you talk about imaginative, fun, and spontaneous friendships stoically? We discuss neuroscience, encounters with odd strangers, funerals, and how much we cherish each other's own uniqueness.
