Please join me for a chat with Esther Bejarano who is the Coordinator with the North Shore Local Immigration Partnership (LIP). Esther, herself an immigrant, understands the complexity and challenges people experience when moving to a new country, which has been a valuable perspective to have when supporting immigrant settlement and integration which she did with YREACH for 6 years in Colchester County under the umbrella of the YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth. Esther’s work with local employers and other organizations on recruiting and retention, shows the important responsibility the community has, and that we must welcome newcomers by educating ourselves on services available and working collaboratively.
