Original story is Jasu's Adventures in Cambodia. The name of the book is Folk Tales from India. The translation is my own and I am no student of literature, so there are too many translation errors in this that I must admit. However, as a child I used to love reading this particular story and it has stayed with me since then. Tagore writes, that despite this proclamation the earth has not stopped giving shelter or the plants haven't stopped producing crops every season neither does it stop any other birds from singing their own songs. If anybody or anything bears the brunt of this unhealthy attitude it is those two birds that have a negative look towards life. In a way, Tagore is speaking of people who have a toxic mentality, who always put others down and discourage those in front or ahead of them.
