Episode 5: S1 E05 7 Dhatus and 7 Bank Accounts
The process of paying money into seven business bank accounts needed to run a business is the same process as nourishing the seven dhatus (tissue systems) with our nutrition! We explore the "Profit First" business model by Mike Michalowicz, and Vanessa's business coaching group called Business on Purpose. We discuss making buckets to fund the different components of your business with the gross revenue. First you pay yourself profit and then the basics and eventually you are funding more esoteric and less obviousl endeavors like new locations and new income streams and maybe even directly funding your mission in new cool ways. When our body nourishes and creates our seven dhatus (tissue systems) it undergoes the same conversion process first creating more basic components like Rasa and blood and bone and eventually more subtle creations like reproductive tissue. Eventually finding similarity between Ojas and extra reenue past account 7 for directly applying to your business Mission. For a primer and a nice explanation of the 7 Dhatus tune into Colette's great Elements Healing podcast on nutrition and the tissues, episode 92 (see below)Resources : Profit First Book : https://profitfirstbook.com/Business on Purpose Coaching https://www.mybusinessonpurpose.com/The Seven Dhatus : https://www.elementshealingandwellbeing.com/blog/ayurvedic-nutrition-of-the-dhatus-092

Episode 4: S1 E04 Networks and Institutions
Discussing these two different ways of organizing around a topic or purpose. Positing that institutions represent a more kaphic state of being, while networks might overall provide higher conversion rates or increased pitta. Networks exist all over the world and always have, from social and business networking to currently social media and hashtags and distributed decision making. Institutions do too. While the world is more accepting of networks in many areas of life and commerce than we used to be, some of the institutions are codifying further as well. So what are the benefits and shortcomings of each and how does it relate to ayurveda and health care?

Episode 3: S1 E03 The Internet - Vata Pitta Kapha and Back Again
Vanessa chats about using these podcasts to direct the natural process of being mobilized by Vata energy to transform thoughts into ideas and philosophy. Further, she considers that the response to material posted on the internet can then transform a cohesive philosophy (kapha in nature) right back into the subtle again - like thoughts in listener’s heads or people responding by taking those philosophies apart again by criticism or extracting smaller parts out for different use.  To relate to these ideas, it’s useful to briefly define the three Ayurvedic terms described here and and which comprise everything:Vata - energy of action and movementPitta - transformation force that converts digestsKapha - cohesive force that creates stability and nourishes

Episode 2: S1 E02 : Ahimsa (Yoga Sutras)
In this episode I set an intention of practicing Ahimsa. (Invitiation to audience : you can definitely call me out on it if/when I fail!) Ahimsa is the foundational principle of the "moral codes" set forth by Yogi Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. I want to discuss and uncover more on the Yoga Sutras as we go, and hopefully include some expert interviews on the subject in subsequent episodes! For now, I discuss a little about the complex nature of even this seemingly simple concept, including some discussion of its limits as illustrated in Bhagavad Gita.
