Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 32 - My January Rituals: The four tools I use to create an extraordinary year

In this episode, Joanna shares how she intentionally enters a new year rather than rushing into it, and why January is a powerful threshold for choosing the same path or the soul path. She introduces the four rituals she uses each January to create an extraordinary year — including her word for the year, reflective review, designing a year of memories, and vision boarding — alongside powerful journal prompts to uncover true desires and universal guidance from the Strength tarot card. This episode is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and consciously choose your No Ordinary Woman era.

The Rituals:

1 Chose a word for the year to create a powerful context to help lead yourself forward

2 Review the year that has just passed - what were your lessons? What were your strengths? What were you most grateful for?

3 Create memories - what memories do you want o look back on when you reach the end of the year. Be intentional about the memories you wish to create.

4 Create a vision board - vision board are powerful tools, they are not just magic. In a later episode this month we will explore the science behind creating a powerful vision board

SOUL - some journal prompts for you:

  1. If no one else’s expectations mattered this year, what would I secretly want more of?
  2. Where in my life do I feel most alive — and where do I feel most constrained? What is that showing me?
  3. What desire keeps returning, even when I try to ignore it?
  4. If I trusted myself completely, what would I choose next?
  5. What kind of woman do I want to be at the end of this year — not what do I want to achieve, but who do I want to embody?

A bonus one…If you were to fully embrace your No Ordinary Woman Era, what would that unleash for you?

Universal Guidance - Strength

As always, I pulled a tarot card to support this episode — and I pulled the Major Arcana card Strength.

And I love this so much for January.

Because Strength is not about force.
It’s not about pushing.
It’s not about proving anything.

Strength is quiet confidence.
Inner steadiness.
The courage to lead yourself with compassion rather than control.

This card reminds us that the most powerful kind of strength comes from trust:

Trust in yourself.
Trust in your instincts.
Trust in your ability to meet whatever this year brings.

Strength asks us:
Where can you soften instead of harden?
Where can you choose self-trust over self-doubt?

This year doesn’t require you to become tougher.

It asks you to become truer.

Is it your turn  to experience The Shift?

The Shift is a 90-minute private mentoring session where we slow everything down, get radically honest, and create clarity around what needs to change — so you can move forward with intention rather than momentum.

It’s for the woman who knows she can’t walk the same path this year and doesn’t want to wait until December to realise that nothing changed.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 31 - 5 Powerful Questions To Supercharge Your Year

Happy New Year!

This is the final in the Festive mini series designed to help you close out 2025 and step powerfully into 2026.

I share 5 questions to help you step into the identity you want to embody this year. Grab your journal and have fun exploring these questions...

QUESTION 1 — “Who do I refuse to be anymore?”

QUESTION 2 — “What desire have I been too afraid to admit?”

QUESTION 3 — “What emotional state will I no longer negotiate with?”

QUESTION 4 — “What identity do I need to embody to hold the life I want?”

QUESTION 5 — “What becomes possible when I lead myself?”

UNIVERSAL GUIDANCE — Ten of Wands

The card that came through for this episode is the Ten of Wands, and its timing couldn’t be more aligned with the beginning of a new year. This card is a mirror — showing us the weight we’ve normalised, the responsibilities we’ve absorbed, and the invisible emotional loads we’ve been carrying out of habit, not necessity. The Ten of Wands arrives when a woman has taken on so much that she can no longer see the path ahead clearly. And its message for you is simple but liberating: You were never meant to carry it all. This is the year where you stop dragging old expectations, outdated identities, and inherited pressures into your future. The questions you’re reflecting on today aren’t just about vision — they’re about release. They’re about choosing what is yours to hold, and gently setting down everything that blocks your capacity to rise. The Ten of Wands invites you into a new level of self-leadership — one where you lead from clarity, not overwhelm; from intention, not obligation. Your next chapter requires space. Let this be the moment you create it.

If you would love my support to help you develop deep clarity and confidence about the woman you are becoming in 2026, why not book a Complimentary Discovery Call?

I will gift you an hour of coaching to help you move forward with clarity and confidence and avoid living the same year on repeat. You can book the discovery call HERE

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 30 - Stepping into Your Next Level - An End of Year Transition Visualisation

I hope you love this special episode to close the year out.

The tarot card I pulled for this Threshold Ceremony is Temperance, and its message could not be more aligned with what this episode holds. Temperance is the energy of integration — the gentle blending of who you were with who you are becoming. It’s the reminder that transformation isn’t abrupt or forceful; it’s a sacred alchemy. This card invites you to honour the middle space, the in-between, the moment where the old self has dissolved but the new self is still forming. Temperance whispers: “There is no rush. Your becoming unfolds in perfect timing.” As you move through this guided visualisation, allow the energy of Temperance to hold you — balancing what you’re releasing with what you’re ready to receive, helping you step through the doorway of your next chapter with softness, harmony, and inner peace.

QUESTION 1 — “What did I survive this year that I haven’t acknowledged?”

QUESTION 2 — “Where did I grow in ways no one else could see?”

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 28 You Don't Need Resolutions - You Need Rest

SHOW NOTES

The Story

In this episode of Becoming No Ordinary Woman, Joanna reflects on her journey over the past year, sharing her disdain for New Year's resolutions and advocating for a more compassionate approach to personal growth. She emphasises the importance of rest, recovery, and setting intentions rather than rigid goals. Joanna discusses how societal pressures can lead to burnout and encourages listeners to embrace their natural rhythms, especially during the winter months. By focusing on intentions and feelings, rather than strict outcomes, she believes individuals can create a more fulfilling and authentic life. The episode concludes with practical strategies for setting intentions and a reminder to be kind to oneself during the transition into the new year.

Takeaways

  • Joanna won an award for her podcast, highlighting its success.
  • She dislikes New Year's resolutions, advocating for rest instead.
  • Resolutions often stem from a belief that something is wrong with us.
  • The nervous system needs safety, not pressure, for transformation.
  • High-achieving women often feel exhausted due to societal pressures.
  • Intentions provide freedom and direction without rigidity.
  • Rest is essential for clarity and decision-making.
  • Setting intentions can lead to more fulfilling outcomes.
  • Transformation is a steady process, not a dramatic overhaul.
  • Self-kindness is crucial during the transition into a new year.

The Strategy

YOUR strategy is simple: Rest → Feel → Intend → Trust → Act

Not hustle.
Not reinvention.
Not pressure.
Not punishment.

This is how you build a year you don’t need to recover from.

The Soul - Journal prompts

1. Where in my life am I craving rest before I choose a direction?

2. What intentions feel spacious and energising — rather than rigid or demanding?

3. Which feelings do I want to lead me next year?

4. What becomes possible when I stop forcing outcomes and start trusting myself?

5. What evidence do I already have that intentions work for me?

(Let your year speak back to you.)

Universal Guidance

The 8 of Pentacles arrives as your reminder that transformation is devotional, not dramatic.

This card is the energy of:

  • steady becoming
  • gentle mastery
  • craft over chaos
  • intention over pressure

It shows the woman who gets where she’s going
not through force…
but through presence.

The 8 of Pentacles whispers:

“You don’t need to reinvent yourself for January.
You just need to stay with yourself long enough to become who you already are.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 27 2025 is the year that changed you - even if it didn't feel like progress

The Story

In this episode, Joanna reflects on the emotional journey of the past year, emphasising the importance of recognising internal growth even when external progress seems minimal. She shares personal experiences and insights gained throughout the year, highlighting the significance of quiet evolution and transformation. Joanna provides practical steps for listeners to evaluate their year, recognizs invisible wins, and prepare for the upcoming year with intention and clarity.

Takeaways

  • December brings a mix of emotions: relief, fatigue, gratitude.
  • Quiet years often lead to significant internal changes.
  • Transformation is about feeling friction between old and new identities.
  • Recognising invisible wins is crucial for personal growth.
  • Your nervous system plays a key role in change and clarity.
  • Preparation is more important than achievement in personal growth.
  • Choosing one thing to let go of can break patterns effectively.
  • Micro embodiments can create lasting change.
  • Ending the year with intention sets the stage for the next.

Strategy

1. Do a Nervous System Debrief (5 minutes)

Most women only evaluate the outcomes of their year.Very few evaluate the state they lived the year from.

2 Identify Your “Invisible Wins” (Identity-Based Progress)

Your brain is wired to track what didn’t happen — not what did.

To override this, answer:

  • Who did I become this year that I wasn’t last year?
  • What behaviours did I stop tolerating?
  • Where did I tell the truth, set boundaries, or listen to my intuition?
  • What did I outgrow?

3. Complete A “Preparation Audit”

This year wasn’t about achievement — it was about preparation.

  • What did this year prepare me for?
  • What new skills, strengths, or insights will matter for who I’m becoming?
  • What pain, loss, or tension was actually clearing space?
  • What inner work happened that will make my next chapter possible?

4 Choose Your “One Thing I’m Not Carrying Into 2026”

Every December, women try to change everything.
But your brain cannot process or sustain 20 new commitments.

It can sustain one

5. Anchor Your Future Self Through Micro-Embodiments

Big goals don’t create change.
Nervous-system-friendly micro-embodiments do.

Soul - Journal Prompts

Where did I evolve quietly this year, even when I didn’t see it happening?

Which moments felt small at the time but were actually turning points?

What pain, confusion, or stillness was actually preparing me for the future?

What did I outgrow — emotionally, spiritually, or energetically?

If I trusted that nothing was wasted this year, how would I see myself differently?

Universal Guidance

The 5 of Wands is a card of tension, friction, and inner competition, but not in a negative way.

It represents the energetic chaos that happens right before a breakthrough — the internal wrestling between old identity and new identity.

It’s the part of the journey where it feels like:

  • You’re pulled in five directions
  • You’re questioning everything
  • You’re battling old patterns
  • Nothing feels clear
  • And everything feels “in progress”

But here’s the gift of the 5 of Wands:

It tells you that this friction is creative.
It’s purposeful.
It’s shaping you.
It’s preparing you.
It’s shaking loose what you can’t carry into the next chapter.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 26 The dream beyond the dream - When life doesn't go to plan and there is something better waiting

The Story

In this episode, Joanna discusses the journey of navigating disappointment and finding hope in new dreams. She shares her personal experiences with infertility and how it led her to discover a new purpose in entrepreneurship. Joanna emphasises the importance of acknowledging grief, creating emotional space, and taking self-led actions to embrace new possibilities. The conversation serves as a guide for women who feel caught between lost dreams and undiscovered paths, encouraging them to trust the process of becoming.

Takeaways

  • Even when you can't see the results of your effort yet, keep going.
  • This episode is for any woman grieving the life she thought she'd be living.
  • When a dream dies, you lose the version of yourself who believed in it.
  • One dream ending is not the end; it creates space for another dream.
  • Grief is not the opposite of possibility; it creates possibility.
  • Your next dream won't arrive because you figure it out; it will reveal itself because you move.
  • Creating emotional spaciousness allows safety and enables creativity.
  • Pay attention to anything that feels like aliveness; these sparks are invitations.
  • Micro actions signal to your brain that you are no longer stuck.
  • You didn't lose your dream; you're being invited into the one that was always meant for you.

Strategy

  • Acknowledge the ending — without making it mean you’ve failed.
  • Identify the identity you were attached to — and the expectations tied to it.
  • Create emotional spaciousness — honour the grief AND the possibility.
  • Follow the spark — the subtle pull toward what feels alive.
  • Lead yourself in the direction of the new dream Take one self-led micro-action — because clarity comes from movement, not thinking.

Soul - Journal prompts

What is the dream you’ve had to let go of?
Who were you trying to become through that dream?
What space has been created in your life now?
What whisper have you been ignoring?
And what is one small, brave, self-led step you can take this week?

UNIVERSAL GUIDANCE — The Wheel (Major Arcana)

The card I pulled for this episode is The Wheel — a Major Arcana card, and one of the most perfect guides for this conversation.

The Wheel represents:

  • cycles
  • fate
  • turning points
  • divine timing
  • the unexpected shift that changes everything

This card reminds you that life moves in seasons.
What feels like an ending is often just the turning of the wheel — the moment the universe shifts you from one path to the next.

The Wheel asks you to trust the movement.
To trust the timing.
To trust that your life is unfolding in ways you cannot yet see.

And to trust that you are being guided toward the dream beyond the dream.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 25 The Power of Science and Spirit - why I blend neuroscience with metaphysics to create unstoppable transformation

The Story

In this episode of 'Becoming No Ordinary Woman', Joanna explores the fusion of neuroscience and metaphysics as a transformative approach for high-achieving women. She shares her personal journey of reconciling the logical and intuitive aspects of herself, the power of manifestation, and the importance of blending strategy with soul to achieve extraordinary results. Joanna emphasises that feeling stuck is often an illusion created by outdated beliefs and identities, and invites listeners to embrace their full selves to unlock their potential.

Takeaways

  • The blend of neuroscience and metaphysics is key to transformation.
  • Many women feel torn between logic and intuition.
  • Manifestation can lead to significant life changes.
  • Your energy and identity shape your experiences.
  • Neuroscience helps rewire the brain for change.
  • Metaphysics shifts identity and energetic alignment.
  • Feeling stuck is often an illusion of old beliefs.
  • Combining strategy and soul leads to unstoppable results.

The Strategy

1. Neuroscience: The Brain Keeps You Where You Are
Your brain’s job is survival, not expansion.
It loves the familiar.
It runs on patterns. It resists anything new — even when the new thing is the life you desperately want.

This is where procrastination, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, overthinking, shrinking and starting-and-stopping come from. It’s not failure. It’s conditioning.

2. Metaphysics: Your Energy Determines Your Identity and PossibilityNeuroscience can shift thoughts — but metaphysics shifts identity.Your frequency, intention, and energetic alignment are what magnetise experiences toward you.

This is why you can “know what to do”… but not do it.Because the identity hasn’t changed. The energy hasn’t matched the vision.

3. The Bridge: Why You Need BothNeuroscience rewires the pattern.Metaphysics rewrites the identity.Together, they make you unstoppable.

The Soul - journal prompts

Where are you split between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming?

Where do you override your intuition because it isn’t “practical”?
Where do you silence your desires because they don’t fit the identity you’ve outgrown?

Ask yourself:

  • What identity are you still living in because it feels familiar?
  • What beliefs are still defining you even though they’re expired?
  • What version of you is waiting patiently for you to open the door?

Universal Guidance

The Eight of Swords represents the illusion of stuckness.A woman blindfolded, surrounded by swords… believing she has no way out.

But if she removes the blindfold…if she takes one brave step forward…she realises the path has been open the whole time.

This card is a mirror:

You are not trapped.Your circumstances are not permanent.Your potential is not blocked.

You’re simply looking through the lens of old beliefs, old conditioning, old identities.

And the moment you shift your perspective, the moment you combine science and soul, the cage dissolves.

Your power returns.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 24 You don't need more time, you need more truth.

The Story

In this episode of Becoming No Ordinary Woman, Joanna shares her personal journey of overcoming the limiting belief that she didn't have enough time to pursue her dreams. She emphasises the importance of aligning one's truth with actions and how fear often masquerades as a lack of time. Through her unique H4 activation model, Joanna guides listeners on how to shift their mindset, honour their emotions, connect with their higher selves, and take aligned actions to reclaim their time and live authentically. The episode concludes with an invitation to a transformative five-day event designed to help participants break free from limiting beliefs and activate their self-leadership.

Takeaways

  • You don't need more time, you need more truth.
  • The stories we tell ourselves can keep us stuck.
  • Fear often masquerades as a lack of time.
  • Aligning your actions with your truth creates momentum.
  • Your mission can be bigger than your fears.
  • Time expands when you live in your truth.
  • Emotional mastery is key to recognising misalignment.
  • Visualising your desired self can guide your actions.
  • Taking aligned actions signals readiness to the universe.
  • You were never out of time, just out of truth.

The Strategy

🧠 Head — Mindset Mastery

First comes awareness.
You have to recognise the story you’re telling yourself.

The next time you hear yourself say, “I don’t have time,” pause and ask:
👉 “Is this story protecting me or progressing me?”

💓 Heart — Emotional Mastery

The next step is to honour what you feel.

The frustration. The guilt. The overwhelm.
These emotions aren’t proof that you can’t handle more — they’re messages from your soul.

✨ Higher Self — Energetic Mastery

This is where you connect to your inner knowing — your higher self.

Close your eyes and visualise the woman who’s already living the life you desire.
She’s not rushing.
She’s not apologising.
She’s not waiting for more time — she’s creating it.

✋ Hands — Embodiment Mastery

Finally, truth without action is just awareness.

So take one aligned action today.
Just one.

Say no to one thing that isn’t aligned with your truth — maybe it’s an obligation, a commitment, a habit that drains you.
And say yes to one thing that moves you closer to your vision.

The Soul - Journal prompts

  1. What story am I telling myself about time — and what truth am I avoiding?
  2. What am I afraid will happen if I go all in on what I really want?
  3. If I trusted myself completely, what would I choose to prioritise this week?

Universal Guidance -

The card I pulled today is the Ten of Wands.

It’s the image of a woman carrying too much — weighed down by responsibilities, expectations, and obligations that aren’t even hers to hold.

This card doesn’t say you’re doing too much — it says you’re carrying the wrong things.

The weight you feel isn’t from lack of time.
It’s from holding up a version of yourself that you’ve already outgrown.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 23 When success stops feeling like success.

The Story

In this conversation, Joanna discusses the importance of recognising when one's life feels unfulfilling and the call to embrace change. She emphasises the need for curiosity and self-discovery as pathways to uncovering untapped potential and becoming the best version of oneself.

Takeaways

  • There's more potential in you that you have not realised yet.
  • That restless whisper is not asking you to burn everything down.
  • It's simply inviting you to stop settling.
  • Start getting curious again.
  • There's a version of you waiting on the other side.
  • The woman that you were always meant to be.
  • Embrace change as a part of growth.
  • Curiosity leads to self-discovery.

The Strategy

1. Tell yourself the truth.
Stop pretending everything’s fine. It’s not ungrateful to admit that what once fulfilled you no longer does.

2. Reconnect with your values.
Success often gets defined by titles, achievements, or possessions — but real fulfilment comes from alignment.

3. Notice where you’ve been performing.
Pay attention to the moments you smile through frustration, say yes when you mean no, or shrink your truth to keep the peace.

4. Create space before clarity.
You don’t find clarity in noise or overthinking — you create it through stillness, reflection, and courage.

5. Choose differently — even in one small way.
The truth is, what you’re not changing, you’re choosing.
So, start small. Make one decision today that reflects who you are becoming, not who you’ve been.

The Soul - journal prompts

Take your journal, or a walk, and explore these reflections:

  1. Truth:
Where in my life have I been saying “it’s fine” when it really isn’t?
(Notice what situations instantly come to mind — that’s your truth speaking.)
  2. Values:
What actually matters to me now — not five years ago, not to anyone else, but right now?
(Let your answers be simple and raw. These are your new metrics for success.)
  3. Performance:
Where am I still performing for approval or safety?
And what would it look like to show up as my real self there?
  4. Space:
What one small pocket of time or space can I protect this week to listen to myself again?
(Clarity can’t find you if there’s no room to land.)
  5. Choice:
What’s one decision — however small — that reflects the woman I’m becoming, not the one I’ve been?

Pause on whichever question feels most alive for you.

Universal Guidance

The card I pulled for this episode was the Four of Cups.
It shows a woman sitting beneath a tree, surrounded by what she’s built — the full cups of everything she once wanted.
Yet she stares into the distance, feeling something missing.

And off to the side, there’s another cup being offered — something new, something unknown — but she’s so focused on what already exists that she can’t see it.

This card is the perfect mirror for this conversation.
It’s not about dissatisfaction — it’s about truth.
It’s that quiet moment when your soul says, “There’s something more for you, if you’re willing to reach for it.”

Discontent isn’t failure.
It’s guidance

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 22 - The thing that scares me most (trigger warning- this might change your life)

The Story

In this episode of the Becoming No Ordinary Woman podcast, Joanna reflects on the themes of mortality, regret, and the pursuit of a fulfilling life. She shares her personal journey, including the loss of her mother to cancer, which catalysed her mission to help women live authentically and without regret. Joanna emphasises the importance of recognising life's fragility and encourages listeners to take brave actions towards their dreams. She provides practical strategies for self-discovery and living fully, urging everyone to choose courage over comfort.

The Takeaways

  • The fear of regret can be a powerful motivator.
  • Life is too short to settle for mediocrity.
  • Personal loss can lead to profound life changes.
  • It's essential to listen to your inner voice.
  • Living authentically requires courage and action.
  • Dreams should not be postponed indefinitely.
  • Recognising when you're out of alignment is crucial.
  • Daily rituals can help reconnect with your desires.
  • Taking small steps can lead to significant changes.
  • Each day is an opportunity to live fully.

The Strategy

1. Stop Numbing and Start Noticing

We fill our days with busyness, scrolling, distractions — anything to avoid hearing the quiet truth that we’re not happy.
Today, make a promise to notice.

  • When do you feel most alive?
  • When do you feel drained or disconnected?

2. The 10,000-Day Audit

Grab a journal or a piece of paper. Draw two columns: Life Lived and Life Left.
Under “Life Lived,” write everything you’re proud of — moments, memories, decisions that made you feel alive.
Under “Life Left,” write what you still long to experience, create, or become.
Then ask yourself: What am I no longer available to postpone?

3. Choose One Brave Action

Big lives aren’t built in giant leaps — they’re built through daily acts of courage.
What’s one decision you’ve been avoiding that could bring more aliveness into your life right now?
Do it this week. Don’t wait for perfect clarity. You’ll grow into readiness by moving.

4. Build Your Aliveness Ritual

Too often, we ignore the whisper of our soul because we know it is not right and we are not ready to receive the wisdom its guiding us too.
Create a daily ritual — five quiet minutes to reconnect with your desires.
Ask: “What would make me feel most alive today?”
Then honour it, even if it’s something small.

The Soul - journal promotes to help you

  1. Where am I letting comfort steal my courage?
  2. What dream or desire keeps whispering to me no matter how much I try to ignore it?
  3. What would my life look like if I started living like time was sacred?

🔮 Universal Guidance — Four of Swords

This card appears after a period of battle and make no mistake, living a life un-lived is a battle of the soul. The Four of Swords is your reminder that stillness is preparation.
It’s about withdrawing from the noise so you can hear the guidance of your higher self. Before you make the next big move, take a sacred pause: rest, reflect, and recommit to what truly matters.

Is this your next step?

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 21 - The two words that keep you stuck or unleash your potential

The Story

In this episode of Becoming No Ordinary Woman, Joanna explores the transformative power of the phrase 'what if.' She discusses how this simple mindset shift can lead to either fear or possibility, sharing personal stories and practical steps to help listeners embrace their potential. Through her journey, Joanna illustrates the importance of choosing empowering thoughts and offers actionable strategies to shift from fear-based thinking to a mindset of possibility and growth.

Takeaways

  • The words you choose reveal your mindset and beliefs.
  • 'What if' can either inspire or instill fear.
  • Doubts can stall dreams and lead to playing small.
  • Transforming fear-based thoughts into possibility is crucial.
  • Awareness of thought patterns can be transformational.
  • Practicing new thought patterns can change your life.
  • Self-trust is essential for overcoming fear.
  • Your energy impacts the life you live.
  • Choosing possibility over fear leads to empowerment.

The Strategy

1. Notice your “What If” patterns.
For the next 24 hours, I want you to simply observe. Every time you catch yourself saying or thinking “What if…”, pause. Ask yourself:
👉 “Is this thought rooted in fear or possibility?”
No judgment, just awareness. This step alone can be transformational — because most of us run fear-based “What ifs” on autopilot.

2. Flip the script.
Once you spot the fear-based “What ifs”, consciously rewrite them.
For example:

  • “What if I fail?” → “What if I succeed beyond my wildest dreams?”
  • “What if they judge me?” → “What if my courage inspires them?”
  • “What if I’m not ready?” → “What if this is exactly the right time?”

This is about training your mind to look for evidence of possibility rather than danger.

3. Anchor into trust.
When fear creeps in, add this phrase:
👉 “What if… and I’ll be okay.”
It doesn’t deny reality — it reminds your nervous system that you can handle whatever comes. That self-trust changes everything.

4. Build your new “What If” muscle.
Each morning this week, choose one area of your life — your career, a dream, a relationship — and write a positive “What if” statement about it.
Watch what happens when you start your day in that energy of expansion.

The Soul - Journal prompts

What would this shift in thinking open up in my life?

·      What area of my life is ready for more possibility and potential? What if I allowed myself to explore this?

·      What if I chose to let go of fear. What could this mean for my life now, in 12 months, in 5 years?

Universal Guidance - the 5 of Wands

This card invites you to step back and recognise that the battle isn’t out there — it’s within.
It’s a call to stop fighting yourself.
When you drop the struggle and align your energy behind possibility rather than fear, your focus becomes clear, and your actions become unstoppable.
The Five of Wands reminds you: not all friction is bad — sometimes it’s simply the energy of growth, pushing you to rise to the next level.

Let the friction refine you, not define you.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 20 -Stop Calling It Imposter Syndrome. Start Calling It Growth – Choosing to reframe when self sabotage is kicking your butt

The Story

In this episode, Joanna delves into the pervasive issue of imposter syndrome and self-sabotage, exploring how these feelings manifest even in successful individuals. She shares personal anecdotes and insights on how to recognise and combat these negative patterns, emphasising the importance of self-awareness and changing one's narrative. Joanna provides practical strategies to overcome imposter syndrome, encouraging listeners to embrace their worthiness and expand their capacity for joy and success.

Takeaways

  • Imposter syndrome is a feeling of inadequacy despite success.
  • Your inner critic aims to keep you safe within your comfort zone.
  • Self-sabotage resets your emotional thermostat when you exceed your limits.
  • Recognising your sabotage patterns is the first step to overcoming them.
  • Hidden beliefs drive self-sabotaging behaviorus.
  • Celebrating small wins is crucial for building confidence.
  • Accepting compliments is a way to acknowledge your worth.
  • Changing the narrative can help combat feelings of inadequacy.
  • You are worthy of success, love, and joy without needing to prove it.
  • Noticing sabotage signals a breakthrough is near.

The Strategy

  1. Spot Your Sabotage Pattern – Become aware of the habits that you have that signal that you are sabotaging.
  2. Name the Hidden Belief – Our behaviour is driven by the beliefs we hold whether they are conscious or subconscious. Next time you feel imposter syndrome or self sabotage kicking in, stop and ask yours elf “What belief says I can’t have this much success/love/joy?”.
  3. Expand Your Capacity for Joy – Practice sitting with good feelings without rushing to the next worry. How many times do you just let your achievements pass by without a pause for celebration?
  4. Change the narrative – Remember: you’re not sabotaging because you don’t want it — you’re sabotaging because you’ve been brave enough to push outside your comfort zone. You are stretching. It is time to change the narrative. You can tell yourself you are feeling unsettled because you are pushing yourself and you are going to get found out OR you can choose a different story.

The Soul - journal prompts

  • When things are going well, how do I tend to sabotage myself?
  • What belief might be hiding underneath that behaviour?
  • If I believed I was safe to have even more joy/success/love, what would I do differently today?
  • If I chose to believe in my brilliance, how differently might I show up?
  • What is my trigger for knowing that imposter syndrome is creeping in?

Universal guidance - The Queen of Pentacles

The Queen of Pentacles invites you to rise with calm authority, to expand your capacity for good things, and to lead from a place of wholeness. You don’t have to chase abundance — you are it.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 19 - Life lessons from selling on Vinted

The Story

In this episode of Becoming No Ordinary Woman, Joanna explores the balance between strategy and soul, sharing personal experiences that highlight the importance of valuing oneself. Through a story about selling clothes, she illustrates how letting go of the past and trusting one's worth can lead to empowerment and financial flow. Joanna provides practical lessons on recognising value, setting standards, and embodying self-worth, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own lives and the lessons the universe offers.

Key Takeaways

  • I leverage a balance between strategy and soul.
  • Letting go of the past can be liberating.
  • Money can flow to you when you trust your value.
  • Recognising demand is crucial in valuing yourself.
  • The universe provides lessons if you're open to them.
  • Distinguishing value from validation is essential.
  • Treat money as energy to attract abundance.
  • Trusting your worth can change your life.
  • Setting clear standards helps in negotiations.
  • Embodying your worth is key to receiving it.

The Soul - journal prompts

  • Where in your life are you negotiating against yourself?
  • Where are you accepting less than you deserve — whether in relationships, career, or even your own dreams?
  • What would shift if you started saying, “No — my value is already clear, and I trust it”?

Universal Guidance

The card I pulled for this episode was The High Priestess. And she could not be more perfect.

The High Priestess is the guardian of your inner knowing. She invites you to trust your intuition, to tune into the quiet voice inside you that says, “You already know your worth. Stop seeking external validation.”

In this Vinted moment, my rational brain said, “Just accept less, it’s easier.”
But my inner High Priestess said, “Hold steady. Trust yourself. Trust the value you bring.”

That’s the invitation for you too. The High Priestess reminds you: You don’t need to prove your value. You simply need to embody it.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 18 Be Curious, Not Judgemental - The leadership power in seeking first to understand

The Story

In this episode, Joanna shares a personal story that highlights the importance of seeking to understand before being understood, a principle that has shaped her leadership approach. She recounts her husband Rob's experience as a headteacher and the challenges he faced, emphasising how judgment from others can lead to misunderstandings and emotional pain. Joanna provides practical steps for listeners to cultivate understanding in their interactions, ultimately encouraging a shift from judgment to empathy and leadership.

Key Takeaways

  • Seek first to understand before being understood is powerful.
  • Judgment can lead to misunderstandings and emotional pain.
  • Rob's experience as a headteacher highlights the need for empathy.
  • Pause before reacting to create space for understanding.
  • Ask open questions to bridge gaps in understanding.
  • Listen beyond words to grasp deeper meanings.
  • Seek context to understand the bigger picture.
  • Self-awareness is crucial for healthy interactions.
  • Leadership is about perspective and understanding.
  • Curiosity over judgment fosters better relationships.

The Soul - Journal prompts

Where in your life do you react quickly instead of pausing to understand?

  • What assumptions are you making about others that might not be true?
  • When was the last time someone really sought to understand you — and how did that make you feel?
  • How can you create more space to understand yourself before seeking understanding from others?
  • What relationships in your life would shift if you led with curiosity instead of judgement?

Universal Guidance

The card I pulled today is the Two of Wands.

This is a card of vision, decision, and stepping into new territory. It reminds us that leadership is not just about action, but about perspective. Standing at the threshold of possibility, you hold the choice: do you rush ahead with assumptions, or do you expand your view and see the whole horizon before you?

This card invites you to step into your role as the visionary of your own life — to make choices from a place of understanding, clarity, and expanded awareness. Just like holding the world in your hands, your power lies in perspective. When you seek to understand, you open doors that would remain closed if you rushed to be understood first.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 17 From Overlooked to Unstoppable - When comparison becomes the thief of dreams

SHOWNOTES

Summary

The Story

In this episode, Joanna discusses the powerful shift in mindset that comes from recognising that being underestimated does not equate to unworthiness. Through the story of Judith from the show Destination X, Joanna illustrates how underdogs can triumph against the odds by staying focused, trusting their journey, and not succumbing to comparison. She emphasises the importance of self-belief, persistence, and the unique timing of each individual's path to success.

Takeaways

  • Being underestimated does not mean you are unworthy of dreams.
  • Focus and observation can lead to success.
  • Comparison can create a false narrative of being behind.
  • Trusting your own timing is crucial for achieving dreams.
  • Stay present and attentive to your own journey.
  • Playing your own game is essential for success.
  • Small consistent steps lead to extraordinary results.
  • Self-doubt can create a mental prison.
  • The limitations we feel are often self-imposed.
  • You are capable and resourced to run your own race.

The Strategy

1. Stop comparing timelines.
Comparison creates a false hierarchy. You might look at someone else and see them as “ahead” because they’ve achieved something you haven’t yet. But every dream has its own divine timing.

2. Stay present and attentive.
In life, your experiences, setbacks, lessons, and even your pauses are all part of the toolkit you’ll eventually need. So instead of looking sideways, keep noticing what your own journey is teaching you. That’s your real advantage.

3. Play your game.
It’s tempting to try to replicate someone else’s strategy — to believe their way is the right way. But your path is unique. Their formula may not work for you, because it wasn’t designed for you.

4. Trust the long game.
This isn’t about quick wins; it’s about building a life and a legacy. The tortoise didn’t win because he sprinted — he won because he kept going.

Anchor mantra:
“My path, my pace, my win.”

The Soul - Your journal prompts

  • Where in your life do you currently feel like the underdog?
  • What quiet advantages have you gained from your journey that you might be overlooking?
  • If you stopped comparing, how would you approach your dream differently this week?
  • What truth would you like to affirm for yourself right now about your timing?

The Universal Guidance - 8 of Swords

This card is here to remind you:
👉 The limitations you feel are not the truth — they are the story you’re telling yourself.
👉 The way forward is already available to you once you choose to see it.
👉 You are never as trapped, stuck, or “behind” as your mind might make you believe.

Free yourself from the illusion that comparison creates. You are not the underdog. You’re already capable, resourced, and perfectly placed to run your race in your timing.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 16 - The four secrets that shift you from dream seeker to dream achiever

SHOW NOTES

The Story

In this episode of the No Ordinary Woman podcast, Joanna shares her transformative journey from being a dream seeker to a dream achiever. She discusses the importance of radical accountability, mindset shifts, emotional intelligence, and practical tools for personal development. Joanna emphasises the significance of manifesting dreams and the balance between masculine and feminine energies in achieving goals. The episode provides actionable strategies for listeners to master their mindset and emotions, ultimately empowering them to pursue their dreams.

Takeaways

  • I decided to take radical accountability for where I was.
  • I realised that my mindset kept me stuck and small.
  • Emotions are meant to flow and be experienced.
  • I had lost my faith in manifesting my dreams.
  • I am a walking example of what is possible when aligned.
  • Feel to free yourself from negative emotions.
  • Make celebration part of your emotional hygiene.
  • Flip limiting beliefs into empowering truths.
  • Your brain will look for evidence to prove you right.

The Strategy

Mindset Mastery (head) - Identify your limiting beliefs and swap them for empowering ones.

Emotional Mastery (heart - Allow yourself to FEEL. Name the emotion - experience it, let it go.

Manifesting Mastery (higher self) - Step into feminine energy. Reconnect with your desires and trust they are available for you

Embodiment Mastery (Hands) - Take aligned actions to create momentum

The Soul - your journal prompts

  • Which of the four areas (Head, Heart, Higher Self, Hands) are currently your strongest?
  • Which area are you avoiding — and how is that keeping you in ‘dream seeker’ mode?
  • If you fully embodied all four, what dream would you stop seeking and start achieving right now?

Universal Guidance- 7 of Wands

The 7 of Wands says: You are strong enough. You are capable enough. And this dream is yours if you’re willing to stand firm and embody it.

So the invitation from this card is:

·       Where do you need to stand taller for your dream?

·       Where are you being invited to hold your ground, not against others, but against your own old patterns that try to pull you back?

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 15 September, Seasons and why giving up is your choice

The Story

In this episode, Joanna reflects on the significance of September as a time for renewal and goal reassessment. She shares her personal journey of running the Great North Run, drawing parallels between the race and the journey of life. Joanna emphasises the importance of perseverance, encouraging listeners to view September not as a finish line but as a new beginning. She outlines five actionable steps to reset goals and reignite motivation, while also inviting listeners to embrace their dreams and pursue them passionately.

Takeaways

  • September is a reset month, not a finish line.
  • Many women write off their goals as the year progresses.
  • It's only over if you choose it to be.
  • Perseverance is key to achieving your dreams.
  • September can be a second new year for refocusing.
  • Recommit to one goal that matters most.
  • Create a reset ritual to signal a fresh start.
  • Shorten your timeframe to maintain focus and momentum.
  • Accountability can enhance commitment to your goals.
  • Your desires are valid and pursuing them is necessary.

The Strategy

1. Recommit to ONE goal that matters most.

2. Create a reset ritual.

3. Shorten the timeframe.

4. Get accountability.

5. Anchor into your why.

The Soul - Journal prompts

  1. If I could only achieve one thing between now and December, what would feel the most meaningful and aligned?
  2. What small ritual could I create this week to mark my fresh start — in my home, my routines, or my mindset?
  3. What feels possible for me to create, shift, or complete in the next 90 days?
  4. Who can I share my commitment with so I don’t carry it alone? Who will cheer me on?
  5. Why does this matter to me right now? What’s the deeper reason I refuse to give up on this dream?

The Universal Wisdom

The card I pulled for this episode is the Knight of Cups.

This is the card of the dreamer, the romantic, the one who moves forward guided by the heart. The Knight of Cups invites you to pursue your visions, not with logic alone but with passion, imagination, and a sense of adventure.

In many ways, September is the Knight of Cups energy — it asks: Will you ride towards your dreams, even if they feel unconventional, even if others don’t understand? Will you allow your heart to lead you into the next season of your life?

It’s a reminder that your desires are valid, and the pursuit of them is noble and necessary.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 14 The Power Of The Shift

Summary

In this episode of Becoming No Ordinary Woman, Joanna discusses the feelings of overwhelm and being stuck in life. She introduces the Wheel of Life as a tool for gaining clarity and understanding which areas need attention. Joanna emphasises the importance of focusing on one area for change rather than trying to overhaul everything at once. She shares five steps to create lasting change and highlights the interconnectedness of different life areas. The episode concludes with a powerful message about embracing change and reclaiming personal power.

Takeaways

  • Many women feel overwhelmed and stuck in their lives.
  • The Wheel of Life is a valuable tool for clarity.
  • Focusing on one area of life can create a ripple effect.
  • Small steps can lead to significant progress.
  • Trying to change everything at once often leads to burnout.
  • Making healthier choices can improve multiple life areas.
  • Self-trust is essential for personal growth.
  • You don't have to fix everything at once.
  • One intentional shift can lead to transformation.

The Strategy

5 steps to creating a shift in your life

  1. Decide on one area that needs to change and define the change you want to see.
  2. What empowering mindset will you need to adopt? What will your new mantra be?
  3. How will you feel when this shift happens? How can you tap into that feeling now? What can you do more of to create that vibe?
  4. What’s the first action you need to take? This is often where the wheels fall off because we try to do too much and get overwhelmed. I like to find the first three actions I need to take.
  5. What does the highest version of you know you need to change to make this stick? Our intuitions are powerful tools that often get overlooked, particularly when we’re feeling challenged and overwhelmed.

The SOUL: Journal prompts

Ask yourself:

  • What’s one area of your life that no longer fits — no matter how much you try to make it work?
  • What’s one truth you’ve been scared to admit to yourself?
  • What shift is quietly whispering your name?

UNIVERSAL GUIDANCE

The card I pulled for this episode was The Empress — and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a more aligned message.

The Empress is the embodiment of creation, self-trust, and feminine power. She doesn’t wait for permission. She decides— from within — what she’s ready to grow, and then she nurtures it into being.
She doesn’t try to control every outcome… but she takes full ownership of what she’s cultivating.

In the context of this episode, The Empress is here to remind you that you are the source.
That the life you desire won’t come from fixing everything at once… but from choosing one thing to honour, to shift, to lead with love — and then showing up for it fully.

Her message is clear:

“You don’t have to hustle your way into a better life.
You simply need to stop abandoning the part of you that knows what she wants.”

The Empress invites you to:

  • Choose one area of your life that’s ready to be reborn
  • Tend to it like it matters — because it does
  • Trust that when you commit to your growth, life will rise to meet you

This is what The Shift is all about.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about reclaiming your power as the creator of your life  one intentional shift at a time.

Becoming No Ordinary Woman
Episode 13 Strategies to help you find the perfect coach for you

The Story

In this episode, Joanna discusses the critical importance of choosing the right coach in the unregulated coaching industry. She shares her experiences and insights on what to look for in a coach, emphasising the need for integrity, respect, and a client-centred approach. Joanna outlines key considerations for potential clients, including the importance of feeling safe and respected, looking beyond hype, and assessing readiness for coaching. She concludes with a reminder that coaching should be viewed as a relationship built on mutual trust and emotional connection.

Takeaways

  • Choosing a coach is one of the most important relationships you'll ever have.
  • The right coach will never use fear or scarcity to get you to say yes.
  • It's essential to feel safe, seen, and respected in a coaching relationship.
  • Trust your instincts when selecting a coach; don't feel pressured.
  • A good coach helps you walk the path to your dreams, not just sells you a dream.
  • Regular coaching sessions create accountability and momentum.
  • Be ready to be vulnerable and commit to the coaching process.
  • Coaching is about moving forward, while therapy is about healing.
  • See the coaching relationship as a partnership, not a transaction.

The Strategy

  1. Check the energy – Do you feel safe, seen, and respected in their presence? Or do you feel pressured, judged, or rushed? Trust your instincts.
  2. Look beyond the hype – A good coach isn’t just selling you a dream; they’re helping you walk the path to it. My advice would be to see if the coach is embodying what they are selling.
  3. Is the package right? – Do they hold a structure that creates the best environment for your success? One of the benefits of regular coaching is accountability because it helps keep you aligned to your goals and to achieve progress and momentum.
  4. Assess your own readiness – Are you willing to be vulnerable, take action, and commit? This is important. You need to know the time is right. Are there things from your past that are still holding you back that you can’t move past yet? Perhaps therapy is the better option in the first instance.
  5. See it as a relationship, not a transaction – This is someone who will be holding your dreams with you. That’s worth choosing carefully. Because a payment is involved, it is easy to see it is a transaction but you want someone by your side who connects with you and that you feel gets and understands where you are coming from.

The Soul - journal prompts

  • Where in your life have you accepted a quick fix instead of choosing the deeper, more transformational route? What did you learn from this?
  • If you were to choose a coach purely on alignment and chemistry, not pressure or urgency, what qualities would you look for?
  • What would it feel like to be fully invested (emotionally, energetically, and financially) in your own growth?

Universal Guidance

Today I pulled the Ace of Cups — a card of emotional renewal, deep connection, and beginnings rooted in love and truth.

In the context of coaching, it’s a reminder that the best partnerships are born from genuine emotional resonance and trust.

The Ace of Cups is an invitation to choose relationships — whether personal or professional — that overflow with mutual respect, compassion, and authentic care.
