Saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia joins Jamz Supernova to unpick themes and lyrics from ‘Triumphance’, from her acclaimed album Odyssey.  They discuss what it takes to have a career at the forefront of a vibrant UK jazz scene, break down the psychological and economic realities of the touring model and its strain on musicians, and explore Nubya’s boundary shifting ambitions that have seen her also become a conductor and, now, spoken word artist.

Charlotte Day Wilson joins Jamz to go Between The Lines on the song ‘New Day’ taken from her most recent album ‘Cyan Blue’.  They talk about motherhood, fertility and genetics in a same-sex couple, the intimacy of live performance, and how experiencing synaesthesia influences her writing.

Jamz chats to rapper and musician Berwyn on this episode of Between The Lines about his track DEAR IMMIGRATION, taken from his Mercury-Nominated debut album.  The Trinidad-born artist talks to Jamz about how the song was inspired by his treatment at the hands of the UK Immigration authorities.  They also discuss how sacrifice plays a role in Berwyn’s creative process and how his deep love of psychology works its way into his music.
