“Single Motherhood & Mental Health” With Topania Byars ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

New week, means a new episode from your favorite father and son podcast here in Nashville, Tennessee. Today’s episode is jam packed with segment breaks, commercial breaks, and of course a black queen as our guest to come and vent behind the topic being:

Single Motherhood & Mental Health 💝

We are passionate behind this topic because there are so many conversations that can stem from it. What we want to do this month is provide perspective for our black men from our black women of how we can be better within the home, during pregnancy, in our marriages, and more. With that said, let us introduce our second guest for this exclusive season. ⭐️

Today’s guest wears a man of hats within the community, one of them being a reappointed City Commissioner with Metro Action, but she emphasizes that her most important hat of them all is being a mother to her baby girl. We want to welcome our good friend and sister Topania Byars to the platform ✌🏽

Born in Killeen, Texas … she talks with us about navigating her younger years, as her mom moved to Nashville with herself, her children, and a single bag holding all of their belongs. Topania talks about being homeless as a child for a brief period, bouncing around different schools throughout her scholastic career. But that never took away her personality, spirit, and the way she was adored by being her authentic self.

We get more intimate conversation about the process of her birthing her baby girl, Audreé 🌼. Topania vents about the importance of having a village during pregnancy, and gives advice behind how most first time mothers don’t know what they should know. Being a first time parent, pregnant during COVID, was a challenge that Topania will never forget. If you fail to remember … having a baby during COVID was a stressful process for most new parents, not knowing if you could go and be with your partner in the OR due to high-risk regulations during that time. Safe to say, Topania vents entirely throughout our show today of different stories on how God brought her through her early stages of motherhood, but providing her a village that stayed consistent, loyal, and supportive throughout her journey. Take some time to listen to a black woman vent today.
