BMVT: Venting With George Stanberry ✌🏽

(Original Air Date 1/1/2026)

Good Morning Nashville! ☀️

WE ARE WALKING INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH A BRAND NEW EPISODE RIGHT OUT THE GATE! 2026 WE GOT OUR FOOT ON THE GAS BEING THE FIRST AND THE ONLY BLACK FATHER AND SON PODCAST IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE 🥇

CHEERS TO A NEW YEAR, MORE STORIES, AND MORE VENTING ON BLACK MEN VENT TOO! 🥂

Let’s pivot right into today’s guest and today’s episode, because if you know anything about basketball in Nashville … you’ve seen this young brother “pivot” a few times, leaving defenders clueless on the court. A true native of Benoit, Mississippi, but he is proud to claim that Nashville raised him to be the man he is today. Presenting to some and introducing to others, our good friend and good brother, Mr. George Stanberry. ⭐️

AND TO MAKE THINGS EVEN BETTER, TODAY (1/1/26) IS OUR GUESTS BIRTHDAY! MAKE SURE TO SHOW SOME LOVE TO GEORGE AND WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY! 🎈

We get into the conversation with George, and he vents about coming out of a real dark hole at one point in his life. He gives high praise to a many of people in his family and circle that have helped him along the way. While he has traveled his mental health journey, he’s been able to also meet a young lady, now being his fiancée, that truly has given him a different perspective on love and communication. George came to our podcast January 9th, 2023, and from then to now … we highlighted his glow coming into the studio. George admits in his younger years, he “was outside”. Really not having a true path and just navigating recklessly at one point. But again, his family and his circle gave him a different perspective on life that has helped him to where he’s at today. Man … the first episode of the year, and it’s a good one. Take some time to listen to a black man vent today. 🙏🏽

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

Make sure you guys show some love to George, the Nashville Aces, and continue to support BMVT throughout the new year! ✌🏽

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Howard Gentry ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville! ☀️

WE HAVE GOTTEN DOWN TO THE FINAL EPISODE RELEASE OF 2025 FOR THE FIRST AND THE ONLY BLACK FATHER AND SON PODCAST IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE 🥇

Myself and my dad cannot thank you guys enough for the immense support that we’ve received in our fourth year of being a platform. We have grown both nationally and internationally, and it has been a blessing to receive the messages, love, and prayers from you all. Remember, all we want to do is serve … as we’re aiming to change the narrative behind black men, one episode at a time by giving them a safe space to tell their story. 🙏🏽

We are truly going out with a bang for this final episode! Excited to announce that we truly have a Nashville Icon that has graced our presence on the show. Black Men Vent Too proudly presents the final guest of 2025, none other than the Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk Mr. Howard Gentry ⭐️

Mr. Gentry is and will forever be known as a legend at Tennessee State University, having received both his bachelors and masters degree there and served in a many of different roles. At the university, Mr. Gentry and his father stand as the only father and son to serve as Athletic Director in school history. He was also a candidate for mayor, narrowly missing the run-off by less than 244 votes. Mr. Gentry comes to the show and talks about a deep rooted history his family has, that ties all the way back to slavery. He is very transparent, giving detail to some of the terrible things that happened throughout his family lineage and how growing up he had to navigate the emotions that stemmed from these life changing events. Mr. Gentry also vents about where we are as a society when it comes to embracing our children. Talking about how black men were systemically removed by design overtime, causing a generational effect within families. This episode is one you don’t want to miss, take some time to listen to a black man vent today. ✌🏽

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

WE WANT TO ONCE AGAIN THANK ALL OF YOU FOR SUPPORTING US THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OF 2025! TELL A FRIEND ABOUT US, AND DONT BE AFRAID TO LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN BE BETTER! SEE YOU GUYS NEXT YEAR! ✌🏽

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Willie Bell III ✌🏽

(original airing date November 30th, 2025)

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

It’s the last day of Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are blessed to be a part of you guys new week. If you’re reading this today, we as a platform thank you for supporting the brand, Black Men Vent Too. Our podcast, the mental health focused clothing/apparel we have called The “Peace” Collection, and the financial literacy classes we teach all are aimed to provide a better direction for our black men in our community. Our podcast has truly been able to reach many across the nation, and again, we can’t thank you enough for not only supporting us, but supporting these guests that come each and every week to vent about their mental health. 🧠

Let’s lock in on today’s episode!

We are excited to present to some and introduce to others our good friend, proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Jackson, Mississippi native Mr. Willie Bell III. ⭐️

Willie Bell III is definitely a miracle and we truly are blessed to have had him share his experience with us. That experience being … sitting at a red light, casually about to go and wash clothes, and a teenage girl going 50mph crashes directly in the back of your just-paid-off Mercedes Benz. The impact being so strong that it uplifts the car from the ground, and now leaves you with partial paralysis, blurred vision, a concussion, memory loss, and unanswered questions. Willie talks about mentally where he is at today as a result of the incident, giving grace to the young girl and just being grateful for a second chance at life. In the back half of the episode, we get into the conversation about how fatherhood, in so many ways, is being strategically removed from men to dismantle the family structure. Our platform highlights fatherhood to the upmost, and Willie talks about how hard it can be at times to try and co-parent as a black man … going now 4 years without seeing his daughter. This episode is for sure a good one, take some time to listen to a black man vent today.

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

You guys can follow Willie Bell III and keep up with his road to recovery with the information below. ⬇️

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Michael Broadnax ✌🏽

(original airing date November 30th, 2025)

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

BACK-TO-BACK EPISODE DROPS THIS WEEK FROM THE FIRST AND THE ONLY BLACK FATHER AND SON PODCAST IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE! ⭐️

We couldn’t let the month of November finish up, and not amp up the platform with not one, but ✌🏽 episodes airing on one day. We are excited to have our supporters and new listeners be a part of this week’s show. You’re in for a good show, so let’s lock in on a black man venting today! 🔒

My pops and I surely do not claim to be licensed mental health professionals. With every episode, we give honor to the therapists, counselors, those who’ve put in the book work and study behind holding their respective position. All we aim to do, is get the story, knowing that a story told will help another black man be more confident in telling theirs.

With that said … we are excited to close out the month with an accredited licensed mental health professionals, marriage & family therapist Mr. Michael Broadnax ⭐️.

When Michael isn’t being a devoted father of 3, or a husband to his beloved wife Ashley, he is boots on the ground behind advocating for mental health. He comes to vent on the platform about the importance of communication, talks about active listening while communicating, and even teaches our platform about “I Statements”. ✏️

Mr. Broadnax says that a lot of times, we know that a tough conversation needs to be had … we just don’t know how to navigate the structure of the dialogue itself. Boundaries, emotional intelligence, and capacity are a few things he touched on to show that these dynamics are a vital part behind finding a common ground amongst one another. It is a language that has to be adapted, but also a language that is meant for a safe space. We really get deep into the conversation from a clinical perspective, as Mr. Broadnax takes time to educate our audience on proper ways to “vent” to one another. Today’s episode is a good one! Take some time to listen to a black man vent today.

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

If you are in needed of a licensed mental health professional today, we highly recommend Michael Broadnax ⭐️, a counselor under Nashville Therapy Group. Take some time to check out Michael’s website, and his services at the link below.

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Tony & Antone Christian

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

WE MADE IT TO FRIDAY! 🙌🏽

Excited to once again be a part you guys new week as we step into this weekend with a lot of different things going on in the city of Nashville. Make sure to visit your local turkey drive event here in the city, and find a way to give back during this holiday season. One way we continue to give back on a week to week basis, is by providing episodes of black men sharing their mental health story on our platform. Let’s get into today’s exclusive episode.

It’s been a while, but we are proud to introduce a father-and-son duo to the show on today. We’ve had a few episodes where we’ve had this type of guest duo, and it was so divine as to how we were able to get this specific father-and-son pair on our platform. Presenting to some, introducing to others, the father Tony Christian ⭐️, an army vet from New York. And the son, hometown native, artist, creative, and Baptist hospital born, Mr. Antone “AC” Christian. ⭐️

We get into today’s episode by allowing both of these brothers to vent on our platform. Our conversation with the fellas talks heavily about divine timing, Gods grace, and what is it about God that isn’t “trendy” or “cool” nowadays. AC goes on to talk about how our flesh is a main factor behind us not sacrificing what we know, for what we need. There has to be a “death to self”, he says in order to truly receive word of what God’s purpose is for you. AC also vents about the importance of black men taking the stand to vent, without shame. The wealth gained from you just being transparent and telling your story is worth far more than money could buy. Tony Christian, the father, comes from humble beginnings and speaks on the importance of love. Since when did it be come a problem today “I love you brother”, and mean it? There’s nothing new under the son, and often times as believers, we dismiss the fact that one thing is for certain … we’re human. Often times, prayer may not be the immediate need, it may be a conversation or community. And both are what we embrace here on the first and the ONLY black father and son podcast in the state of Tennessee. 💫

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

NEW EPISODE IS OUT NOW ON YOUTUBE! 📺 #BMVTtv

Guys … we NEED feedback. Think we can do better with our questions? Do you believe we should attack certain topics surrounding black men and mental health? Are we needing to upgrade any part of our show? We’re OPEN for feedback, partnerships, or sponsorship to help us be a better mental health platform for the city.

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Robert “Chan” Archibald ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

We are excited once again to be a part of you guys new week, and want to thank you for taking time out of your day to listen in to this weeks episode of Black Men Vent Too. Pops and I stand proudly as the FIRST & ONLY black father and son podcast in the state of Tennessee, aiming to change the narratives behind black men one episode at a time. Man oh man, we definitely got a good one today! So, let’s lock in! 🔒

We are excited to bring to the show a young brother, straight out of Jo Johnston, who truly does have a heart for doing good and passing that on to others in a generous way. We welcome to the platform our brother, Robert Archibald, better known as “Chan”. ⭐️

Chan vents on our platform about the importance of “being you”. He talks about how so many people nowadays are losing their authentic selves to societal distractions like social media. As if what you see on the screen is who you are, and we all know those narratives change. Chan takes pride in being the same person everywhere he’s went. A native of the city, he talks about growing up in a large family, being amongst loved ones in Jo Johnston, and how that framed his mentality overtime to wanting to be a positive influences within community. You’ll hear it today, but Chan takes family values very serious … and isn’t afraid to tell you how he is coming behind his people. Today’s episode is a good one, take some time to listen to a black man vent today. 💫

Black Men Vent Too
“Single Motherhood & Mental Health” With Dr. Cynthia “CeCe” McKnight ✌🏽

(original air date 10/31/25)

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

Its the last day of the month! We hope you guys have had a prosperous October, as we step into the final 2 months of 2025. Man, what a year it has been. Let’s lock in on the final episode for our exclusive season being “Single Motherhood & Mental Health.” 🌺

If you haven’t, take some time to check out all of our episodes that were apart of this season. BMVT wanted to take some time away from the common conversations we have with black men, and zero in on the conversation about mothers and their mental health, to better help us gain perspective as black men. Today’s final guest to appear in this unique season is none other than best selling author, mother, community leader, and faith based mental health advocate … Dr. Cynthia “CeCe” McKnight ⭐️

Dr. CeCe has had a career full of different ventures, achievements, and dynamics. With 26+ years of ministry and service, 30 years of marriage experience, and a doctorate degree … save to say, this young lady is “boots on the ground” with her work. Dr. McKnight comes to vent on our platform about the lost conversation surrounding the “invisible mother.” That mother that may have the support, may have the village surrounding her, but for some reason still feels lonely, inadequate, and indifferent. No mother should ever feel this way, and Dr. Cece talks about how faith and mental health were the prescriptions that brought her out of a dark time. You don’t want to miss this episode, take some time to sit down, lock in, and listen to a black woman vent today.

“Have You Heard A Black Man Vent Today?”™️

We thank you guys for taking time to check out our season being “Single Motherhood & Mental Health.” 🌺

The support you’ve shown us as we aim to support our black women has truly been felt. Always remember, to give us feedback, take some time to give us a Google review today. We’d appreciate your support! ✌🏽 #BMVT

Black Men Vent Too
“Single Motherhood & Mental Health” With Topania Byars ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

New week, means a new episode from your favorite father and son podcast here in Nashville, Tennessee. Today’s episode is jam packed with segment breaks, commercial breaks, and of course a black queen as our guest to come and vent behind the topic being:

Single Motherhood & Mental Health 💝

We are passionate behind this topic because there are so many conversations that can stem from it. What we want to do this month is provide perspective for our black men from our black women of how we can be better within the home, during pregnancy, in our marriages, and more. With that said, let us introduce our second guest for this exclusive season. ⭐️

Today’s guest wears a man of hats within the community, one of them being a reappointed City Commissioner with Metro Action, but she emphasizes that her most important hat of them all is being a mother to her baby girl. We want to welcome our good friend and sister Topania Byars to the platform ✌🏽

Born in Killeen, Texas … she talks with us about navigating her younger years, as her mom moved to Nashville with herself, her children, and a single bag holding all of their belongs. Topania talks about being homeless as a child for a brief period, bouncing around different schools throughout her scholastic career. But that never took away her personality, spirit, and the way she was adored by being her authentic self.

We get more intimate conversation about the process of her birthing her baby girl, Audreé 🌼. Topania vents about the importance of having a village during pregnancy, and gives advice behind how most first time mothers don’t know what they should know. Being a first time parent, pregnant during COVID, was a challenge that Topania will never forget. If you fail to remember … having a baby during COVID was a stressful process for most new parents, not knowing if you could go and be with your partner in the OR due to high-risk regulations during that time. Safe to say, Topania vents entirely throughout our show today of different stories on how God brought her through her early stages of motherhood, but providing her a village that stayed consistent, loyal, and supportive throughout her journey. Take some time to listen to a black woman vent today.

Black Men Vent Too
“Single Motherhood & Mental Health” With Yvonnda Fite-Green ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

Brand new month, brand new episode, let’s lock in guys on the rest of the year as we continue to push mental health on our platform. We thank you guys for tuning in each and every week to the first and the ONLY black father and son podcast in the state of Tennessee. Today’s episode debuts a BRAND NEW SEASON for the month of October, as we invite black women to our platform to discuss the topic:

Single Motherhood & Mental Health 💝

We are passionate behind this topic because there are so many conversations that can stem from it. What we want to do this month is provide perspective for our black men from our black women of how we can be better within the home, during pregnancy, in our marriages, and more. With that said, let us introduce our first guest for this exclusive season. ⭐️

We are excited to bring to our platform Nashville native, Ms. Yvonnda Fite-Green ✌🏽. In today’s episode, do know that you may hear a tiny voice within parts of the show … that tiny voice was Yvonnda’s beautiful baby girl, Remi 🌼. No need for a baby sitter, she was a part of the show too!

On today’s episode, Yvonnda vents about a major subject within our culture that doesn’t get talked about … that being postpartum depression. Yvonnda talks about a time where she picked up a part time job, because the PPD had gotten so bad to where she just felt personal space was needed more than ever. Baby girl Remi, Yvonnda tells us that she was born inside of her sac. It has been researched and reported for that to occur within 1 in 80,000 births. Yvonnda vents with our platform about mentally where she was in that moment … her daughter being born with a veil over her face. Anything that isn’t natural within the pregnancy process, will surely cause mental stress for a woman in an already high-volatile situation. Yvonnda vents about actively still dealing with the PPD today, and how some cases can last up until the child becomes 5 years old. It’s so much that black men do not know about these things, and again, we wanted to not only invite black women for this season, but we want to mention that a live audience of women also was apart of today’s episode … to show our listening audience that were not here to make any black woman feel nervous or uncomfortable. Just like our black men, during this month of October, we want to provide a safe space for women to vent about this topic. And in order to do that, we filled up our studio with women to support our guest on today. Got a few more episodes behind our season of “Single Motherhood & Mental Health.” Make sure you guys tap in all month for more! 🌹

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Malik Lea ✌🏽

Good morning Nashville! ☀️

Back again with another one guest, for another week of black men coming to vent on our platform about how they’ve overcome various mental health struggles. We know that if one man comes here and tells his story, it’ll give another black man more confidence to share his. With that said, let’s get into today’s episode.

A major shoutout to Makayla Renee & Jaylin Guthrie, as they are the reasons behind why we met today’s guest. At their annual “Back 2 School” Bash Event, we took the time to do a small interview with this young man, but realized it wasn’t enough and knew he had more to say. We are excited to

bring to the platform none other than Malik Lea ⭐️, affectionately known as “CFN Blends” 💈

Today’s guest truly does come from humble beginnings. Malik is a Nashville native, have seen the halls of Gra Mar Middle School & Maplewood High School, but comes to talk about how all those experiences cultivated the man of today. Malik shares with us times of hardship like homelessness, addiction, even jail time has been something he’s experienced … but the young man is making a full turnaround behind how he lives his life. Now, he is a proud barber student and goes by the name “CFN Blends”. You cannot fault a man for trying, and Malik definitely is making sure that his name is stamped in the city by cutting heads and creating relationships wherever he goes. He’s an humble guy, with an ambition for greatness and self development … take some time to listen to a black man vent today.

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Coach Russell Acklin, Sr. ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

TWO EPISODES IN ONE DAY? I guess that’s how we’re feeling over here at Black Men Vent Too, and we hope that our energy in some way radiates back to you on today. If you woke up this morning, you winning. Complaining won’t do you any good anyways, right? So let’s take life for what it is, enjoy it, and all of us find more creative ways to better enhance our mental health. With that said, let’s get into today’s episode! 🔥

Man! Today’s episode is truly a good one and we are excited to have you tune in to our back-to-back episode drop for this weekend. September is Suicide Prevention Month, and as we advocate weekly for mental health in black men, we knew more was needed from us this month … more episodes, more content, more guests to continue to vent about their mental health here on BMVT.

Presenting to some and introducing to others, one of the great coaches here in Nashville who has served under our MNPS district as well as coaching along side Fisk University legend Kenny Anderson … we bring to the show the father, the husband, the mentor Coach Russell Acklin, Sr. ✌🏽

Coach Russ 🏀 comes to the show to vent about one immediate and thought provoking question … “how do you hug a porcupine?”

Everyone in their life knows that one “porcupine” person … they’re never truly satisfied, always looking to prick at things, and can be tough to handle. We dive off into that conversation with Coach and talk about how men can sometimes be mentally drained behind dealing with the porcupines of life. Whether it be women, kids, the job, car broke down, anything can be symbolic to a porcupine and how it can be hard for a black man, or any man to bounce back mentally. We really unpack this question and more, as we also talk about how we met today’s guest … all thanks to the monthly forums held by the NFL Alumni Fatherhood Organization 🏈

Take some time to listen to a black man vent today. ✌🏽

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Ms. Clemmie Greenlee ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

Let’s turn it up a notch. 🔥 This week, we decided you guys deserve more than one episode, so with that we got two episodes in one week to continue to push conversations behind mental health here in Nashville, Tennessee. We stand proudly as first and the ONLY black father and son podcast in the state of Tennessee … let’s get into today’s exclusive episode! ⭐️

Not only do we bring on and stand for black men and our mental health, but we don’t shy away from seldomly inviting black women to our platform as well. Those that listen to us on a regular know that, and today, we surely got a black woman whose story deserves to be on our platform, and in the box office. We have none other than the boss lady herself, Ms. Clemmie Greenlee 💫

Affectionately known as “Clemmie G”, this young lady has been all through the streets of Nashville advocating for our people. After an unfortunate experience of losing her son to gun violence, she took the emotions from that and created a non-profit catered to moms that have been affected by the murder of their sons. Clemmie G vents on the show about what it took mentally to look at her son’s killer eye to eye years later, something that surely could not have been easy. From then to now, she truly shows that God has been by her side this whole time. One can only imagine losing your son, and still having the desire to keep pressing on in life. Guys, today’s episode is definitely a must-listen. Take some time to listen to a black woman vent today. 🙏🏽

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Teddy Cooper ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

NEW WEEK NEW EPISODE! We’re excited to have you guys here listening in to the Black Men Vent Too Podcast. Do know that we are a platform looking for black men to come share their story on our platform. Every man deserves a safe space and a safe place, and we take pride in providing that here on our show. Let’s get into today’s episode.

LISTENERS DISCRETION IS ADVISED AS YOU PREPARE TO HEAR TO TODAY’S EPISODE!

We want to provide a much needed disclaimer … because some of the information you hear today may be disturbing. Nonetheless, we bring to our platform today a young man that rightfully so, states he is a “black man wronged by a very well known HBCU”.

Teddy Cooper ⭐️ , an East Jackson Tennessee native comes to vent for the first time and speaks out publicly behind a tragic incident that occurred in October 2024. He comes to vent on our show about how he enjoys being a content creator, sharing with the world his various talents and creativity. Teddy, better known as “Tee Raw”, had his whole day planned out to make content at the bowling alley. Everything as he explains to us went smoothly, until dropping off a friend turned into a nightmare he’d never forget. Arriving at the dorm, and upon entering, Teddy was ambushed by 10-15 students … and gives us every chilling detail behind his experience here on the show. Again … after being turned down by radio stations, news channels, and media, this is the first time Tee Raw has publicly spoken out behind his tragic story. Take some time to listen to a black man vent today.

Black Men Vent Too
BMVT: Venting With Music City Matte ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

NEW WEEK NEW EPISODE! We’re excited to have you guys here listening in to the Black Men Vent Too Podcast. One day, we want to be the one stop shop in Nashville for any man, regardless of their ethnical background, to know that we have resources readily available whenever there is a need for them. Whether you’re white, black, blue or purple, mental health is real. And we honor that here every week with our guests on our platform.

With that said … let’s dive into today’s episode!

If you’ve followed us for a while, then you know to not let our podcast name fool you. We embrace ANY man who needs our platform, but we naturally as black men stand for OUR men above anything else. We love to bring a variety of guests on the show, to emphasize how mental health affects us all … not just our culture of men. Presenting to some and introducing to others, he’s as smooth as butter and cooler than the other side of the pillow, we’re excited to bring our guy “Music City Matte” to the show! ⭐️

Matt comes to our platform and vents on the passion he has behind being a father to his two boys. Fatherhood did not start off ideally for Matt, as he talks about being in back and forth custody battles for almost 5 years of his son’s life. A native of Florida, Matt talks about his time in prison and how that 10 year setback made things more challenging for him down the line, especially when it comes to navigating through court processes. Research shows that fathers, no matter the ethicist or racial ground, have made transformative efforts in being present and active in their children’s lives. But for some reason, Matt’s story is like that of many fathers. When we as man are told to “fight for our children”, is this what the fight looks like? Is this what we as men have to endure … just to be in the lives of children we help create? Today’s episode is a good one, lock in and don’t miss it! ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

We are excited to be bringing in a new month with you guys here at Black Men Vent Too. It truly has been a blessing seeing our followers and supporters grow with us, as we continue to try and grow as a brand. One day, we want to be the one stop shop in Nashville for any man, regardless of their ethnical background, to know that we have resources readily available whenever there is a need for them. WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT BLACK MEN VENT TOO HAS OUR FIRST OFFICIAL BRAND DEAL AS A PODCAST! 🔥 (tune into our BMVT Commercial Break Segment for more info)

We are excited to bring to our platform a young brother who truly embodies what a family man is all about. To go from being expelled in school multiple times … to now being a father, husband, and Doctor’s Degree recipient, is a story that you don’t want to miss. Presenting to some, and introducing to others, our good brother Dr. Dameion Cowans.

Dr. Cowans, born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, comes and vents on the show about his upbringing. Affectionately known as “Dang Dang” back home, he talks about being brought up around drugs, violence, and guns desensitized him to a lot of things. He recalls being in school, and a teacher tied him up … with the excuse being that he was “too bad and unruly.” Dr. Cowans was kicked out of pre school, middle school, 9th grade, 11th grade, and was accepted into Tennessee State University on academic probation, graduating with a 1.7.

Then God…

Dr. Cowans talks about how faith really reshaped and reframed his life for the better. He credits God solely to him being a better man, and a better servant. Being a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Cowans vents about life today versus life back then. And how it was nothing but God, who has been able to give him a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Lock in! Today’s episode is one you don’t want to miss!

Black Men Vent Too
“Black Entrepreneurship” With Edward Howard & Keith Morgan ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

CHEERS 🥂 TO A GREAT MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH! IF YOU’RE A BLACK MAN (OR ANY MAN) READING THIS AND YOU WOKE UP THIS MORNING, YOU WINNING 🥇

That is the way we want to cap off the last day of Men’s Mental Health Month! It has truly been a blessed month as we have been dropping episodes, been active within the community at various mental health events, and have enjoyed the fellowship of so many as we all aim to change the narrative behind black men one episode at a time. This is our FINAL episode to end our “Black Entrepreneurship” season, and we truly hope you have enjoyed the slate of episodes from this series of BMVT. 🙏🏽

With that said, let’s get into today’s episode! 🔥

“The BEST way, is the official way.” That is the catchy slogan to a thriving black owned business here in Nashville that continues to find unique flavors to satisfy any stomach it comes in contact with. We are excited to present to some and introduce to others, two of the four founders of “Official Wings”, Mr. Edward Howard & Keith Morgan. 🍗

We sit down with these brothers and talk all things entrepreneurship. From balancing marriages and relationships, to having to juggle kids and their schedules, importance of having a team, handling business operations while dealing with grief, we unpacked a lot in today’s episode. Edward vents about a time where he had to arrange the funeral for his father, while also trying to start and open a business at the same time. He mentioned how much of a pillar his dad was in his life, and upon his passing, he knew that the legacy must continue on. Keith comes to our platform, a graduate of Tennessee State University, and vents about what the business looked like while operating during COVID. We all remember where we were during the pandemic, and he vents about how that journey looked along with discussing with us some of the ways he has overcome his most difficult mental struggles. Today’s episode is a good one, don’t miss it! Lock in! ✌🏽

Good Morning Nashville ☀️

June has been a very busy month for Black Men Vent Too. Whether we have been in our community advocating for mental health at local events, or rolling out podcast episodes week to week, it has been an active month for us as a collective. Nonetheless, we still are making sure to get out weekly episodes for our loyal listeners. With that said, let’s get into today’s episode. 🔥

Have you guys ever heard of the website/social media page titled “therapyforblackmen.org.”? The masterminds behind this initiative, have joined us today for our “Black Entrepreneurship” Season to talk about as a married couple how they navigate business while still sustaining a productive marriage. Representing all the way from Brooklyn, New York, the founders of therapyforblackmen.org, Vladimire & Benjamin Calixste ⭐️

Each post made by this power couple is in some way affirming, or validating black men to show them that the narratives behind black men have to be changed. We sit down with Vladimire & Benjamin and talk about the power of faith both in business and within their marriage. Being married for 21 years now, they both give God all the credit. Vladimire said something powerful … she stated that her and Benjamin “are experts of one another, and students of themselves”. Such a profound comment to show that as a woman, Vladimire is truly secure and confident in her marriage and the leadership of her husband Benjamin. It is a lot to unpack in today’s episode so make sure wherever you are, you take some time to listen in! All things black entrepreneurship, marriage, and health … take some time to listen to a black man (and black woman) vent today. ✌🏽
