Ep. 6 Artist Introduction: Tim Skula

(Intro & outro by Tim - amazing sonic artist & cool dude… scroll down for link)

In this episode of BLTN!

I start off with the importance of education for us humans, and how its outdated model no longer serves us well.

From there, I go off on spontaneous tangents, exploring what practical and responsible dreaming in Japan looks like, how perfectionism can stifle our creativity, and how Gen X’s counter-culture sports may have been a coping mechanism in the lonely latchkey era.

Then we take a little known path down memory lane, reminiscing about my all-time fav movie, Castle in the Sky, while revealing a not-so-known story behind Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki’s past.

I touch on a timely but important message about how we can leave the world a better place for future generations, borrowing inspiring words from Aldous Huxley, Mark Manson, and YES Theory’s recent monologue that ends with ”love over fear,” as I honor the wish of past generations to maintain peace in the world, and how we can achieve it together.

Just as we think we’re going to run out of gas, we make a quick pit stop at filmmaker Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi, fractals in Manhattan, Pi, and Superstring Theory.

Before we cross the finish line, I ponder how art as self-reflection can open doors to a lifelong process of self-discovery and growth, just as philosophy does.

Hold on tight, this is gonna be another bumpy ride!

And remember…

It’s Better Late Than Never!

Thank you for being here.

You deserve the best.

We deserve the best.

Have a wonderful day, night, wherever you are.

Love and gratitude,

Kit
