In this episode, I start the conversation with the nature of time, and the undefinable quality of something that governs our lives.
From there, I dive into one of the most important topics for artists and creatives…. art and commerce.
I trace a line from ancient amphitheaters and cave walls to the modern music machine, asking what it means to create without labels or gatekeepers.
Along the way, I reflect on creating art, meditation, and snowboarding as teachers in staying present in the moment of NOW, and maintaining creative freedom and integrity as an artist.
We also talk about perfectionism, procrastination, and the tug-of-war between internal truth and external approval… the subjective point of view, and the objective point of view… and why gatekeepers and critics will always be secondary to the art and creative act itself, such as the human urge to sing, paint, and drum around the ancient fire.
From Rick Rubin to Billy Corgan, critiques in art schools to 40 mph wipeouts, this episode is a call for a perception reset for artists and creatives…make first, label later.
Time is undefinable, and the present is where art actually happens.
Thank you for being here.
And remember.. it’s Better Late Than Never…!
You deserve the best.
We deserve the best.
Have a wonderful day, night, wherever you are.
Love and gratitude,
Kit
