After almost two months away from the mic, I’m back in Tokyo and thinking about the life I’ve lived between two worlds. I share what it felt like to camp on Long Island beaches, paint with the ocean wind, and then suddenly confront the emotional weight of returning home. I talk about perfectionism, procrastination, ADHD tendencies, and the way overthinking can steal momentum, and how the past decade of back-and-forth between Japan and the US has forced me to examine freedom, responsibility, and how fragile identity can be. I also explore the unsettling energy in the US, the refuge I feel in Tokyo, and the lifelong question of what home truly is.
In the end, this episode is simply me taking another step, grateful for whoever is listening, reminding myself that we can always begin again, even when life feels uncertain.
