Cat-Calling

Cat-Calling....hmmmm what exactly is "Cat-Calling"? Well let's ask google. After performing a quick google search this is what I got:

1: a loud or raucous cry made especially to express disapproval (as at a sports event)

Even Winslow, who led the league in catches for the second straight year, was hearing catcalls.— Rick Reilly

2: a loud, sexually suggestive call or comment directed at someone publicly (as on the street)… every single time I go running in a public place without my male running partner, I am the target of catcalls.— Natalie DeBlasio

Per: The Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Cat Calling

Rude sexual remarks made by men passing women on the street. Usually “cat calls” are about the woman’s body as a whole or a certain feature.

“Damn girl that ass looks fine”-Guy on the street

“Ugh, I’m so tired of cat calling!” -Woman the guy yelled at

Per: The Urban Dictionary

Now that we have an idea of what it is, can we stop doing it now? P.S. if you didn't know cat-calling is a form of street harassment and no one should be subject to harassment especially from point A to point B.

Samsung Vs. Apple

Join me in studio as we talk a bit about the differences between Samsung and Apple. Warmest greetings of this festive season and best wishes for happiness this New Year.

Wear a mask.

Save lives.

Wear a face cover

Wash your hands

Keep a safe distance

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone should:

Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet).

Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces daily.

CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings and when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Masks may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.

Self care

If you have possible or confirmed COVID-19:

Stay home except to get medical care.

Monitor your symptoms carefully. If your symptoms get worse, call your healthcare provider immediately.

Get rest and stay hydrated. Take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen, to help you feel better.

If you have a medical appointment, notify your healthcare provider ahead of time that you have or may have COVID-19.

Stay in a specific room and away from other people in your home. If possible, use a separate bathroom. If you must be around others, wear a mask.

Insecurities

Insecurity is a feeling of uncertainty, a lack of confidence or anxiety about yourself. Put aside your insecurities and start acting like the smart, capable person you are! But soon you will make friends and forget about your insecurities. It can also describe the state of being open to danger or threat. A person who is insecure lacks confidence in his or her own value, and one or more of his or her capabilities, lacks trust in himself or herself or others, or has fears that a present positive state is temporary, and will let him or her down and cause him or her loss or distress by "going wrong" in the future.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone should:

Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Cheating Isn't Cool :(

Cheating is cheating. Cheating is breaking the rules that you and your partner have set for each other. And it doesn't matter if you and your partner haven't specifically stated and set every single rule out there – when you form a bond with someone, there is a unique expectation between the two of you. Don't allow people to use you and mistreat you, as you shouldn't use and mistreat people. Cheating isn't cool!!

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone should:

In life we constantly change and the Coronavirus has been on of the largest changes that the entire world had, and still has to adapt to. Change, alter both mean to make a difference in the state or condition of a thing or to substitute another state or condition. To change is to make a material difference so that the thing is distinctly different from what it was: to change one's opinion. Regardless of the position that we all may be in, this current global pandemic shows that the world will continue to move on without us.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone should:

Relationships: What's love in today's society

Wear a mask.

Save lives.

Wash your hands.

Keep a safe distance.

When we love someone we experience the same positive thoughts and experiences as when we like a person. But we also experience a deep sense of care and commitment towards that person. Being “in love” includes all the above but also involves feelings of sexual arousal and attraction. Love has various definitions. Ask someone and they will give you their own definition of love. Love is a variety of feelings, emotions, and attitude. For some love is more than just being interested physically in someone, it’s an emotional attachment.

Love is more of a feeling that a person feels for another person. People often confuse love and lust. Love means to be deeply committed and connected to someone or something. The basic meaning of love is to feel more than liking towards someone. It is a bond that two people share.

The ancient Greeks used seven words to define the different states of love we can experience:

  • Storage: natural affection
  • Philia: friendship
  • Eros: sexual and erotica
  • Agape: unconditional, divine love
  • Ludus: flirting
  • Pragma: committed, married love
  • Philautia: self love

Stay tuned for a more advanced discussion of each in the near future. Until then continue to be safe.

The true meaning of friendship

What is a friend, anyway? A friend is someone who understands you, and if they don’t, they try to. They want to know what you’re all about and what you need. A friend is somebody who is there for you when they can be, but also sets boundaries when they need to. Many things make someone a good friend, and the definition of what makes a true friendship differs from person to person. Join me and one of my very close friends as we discuss the possible quirks and such of a friendship.

Are you a cellphone abuser?

Everyone at some point has been victim to or a suspect of “cellphone abuse”. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in that tiny 6 inch screen. There is so much more to life beyond that, you just have to put down your phone to experience it. With smartphones growing to be an integral part of model life, an overuse of smartphone has become epidemic around the world. It negatively affects people’s life with profound implications on mental, physical, and social health and well-being. It is important to bring the public’s awareness to this growing epidemic and to define smartphone overuse as a public health issue. Potential strategies for addressing this issue may be learn from tobacco control, such as health education and health communication, legislation and technical means. In contrast to tobacco control, the aim of public health interventions is not to prohibit smartphone use, but to promote safe, healthful and mindful use. In short, smartphone overuse is an emergent public health issue that demands public health solutions.

Lavard

It's with a heavy heart and a broken spirit that I recorded this episode. Despite the severity of the situation and its outcome, certain aspects must be talked about. Be very careful of who you choose to associate your self with on daily basis. People rarely show their true intentions at first glance and turn out to be some very menacing creatures at the end of it all. As a male you don't view other close male friends as "friends", you view them as brothers or 'bros'. In modern terms a 'bro' is someone you can trust with your life….or you should be able to at least. Be very careful who pass the title 'bro' onto. Be very careful who you pass the title friend on to. Be very careful who you allow in your life. Be very careful who you hang around. Be very careful.

Proverbs 18:24 states "One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."  Seek this type of friend. Keep this type of friend as close as possible.

Proverbs 12:26 states "A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray." Pray for those people that you keep close within your life. The devil seeks any open door into your home. Don't give such easy access. The same that you pray for yourself and your family pray for your friends as well. They need your protection just as much as you need theirs.

There’s currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19). You can protect yourself and help prevent spreading the virus to others if you: Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze Avoid close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell DON’T Touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are not clean. Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice. Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hurricane “Dorian”
Join me in the studio today as I begin to recap what would’ve happened in the Bahamas over the course of a few days all because of one monstrous storm by the name of “Dorian”.  Once upon a time, there was a flock of doves that flew in search of food led by their king. One day, they had flown a long distance and were very tired. The dove king encouraged them to fly a little further. The smallest dove picked up speed and found some rice scattered beneath a banyan tree. So all the doves landed and began to eat. Suddenly a net fell over them and they were all trapped. They saw a hunter approaching carrying a huge club. The doves desperately fluttered their wings trying to get out, but to no avail. The king had an idea. He advised all the doves to fly up together carrying the net with them. He said that there was strength in unity. Each dove picked up a portion of the net and together they flew off carrying the net with them. The hunter looked up in astonishment. He tried to follow them, but they were flying high over hills and valleys. They flew to a hill near a city of temples where there lived a mouse who could help them. He was a faithful friend of the dove king. When the mouse heard the loud noise of their approach, he went into hiding. The dove king gently called out to him and then the mouse was happy to see him. The dove king explained that they had been caught in a trap and needed the mouse’s help to gnaw at the net with his teeth and set them free. The mouse agreed saying that he would set the king free first. The king insisted that he first free his subjects and the king last. The mouse understood the king’s feelings and complied with his wishes. He began to cut the net and one by one all the doves were freed including the dove king. They all thanked the mouse and flew away together, united in their strength. Moral: When you work together, you are stronger.  In this dire time of need,  I urge that the Bahamian people stand together as the Dove King and his loyal subjects during their time of despair. “Storms draw something out of us that calm seas don't." ~ Bill Hybels
