Set in Istanbul, the book is about two families, an Armenian American expatriate family in USA and a Turkish family in Istanbul. With strong and eccentric female characters at the core, the book is set in the backdrop of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923 and how that event affects the life of the present generations of the two families in 2005. It's enriching and sensitive.
