Last week we discussed the pros and cons of self-publishing and today we will be chatting about the pros and cons of traditional publishing which in my opinion is every author's dream--well, it is for me!
We will compare some of the pros and cons to self-publishing as well. if you are in between deciding to self-publish or to go the traditional route, I hope that what we discuss today and last week will help in your decision making. Traditional publishing is anything but easy and it takes time to finally land an agent and a publishing deal but it is feasible. Keep going, don't give up! Check out some of the links below

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK FRIENDS!
Last week's episode was all about how to self-publish a book. this week I would like to share some of the pros and cons of self-publishing mostly talking from experience. I have self-published three books thus far and I've done so using KDP which happens to be a great platform for new authors. However, with everything, there will be pros and cons. Publishing your book whether traditionally or independently--will be a long and tedious process but so worth it in the end.
If you are on the fence about whether to self-publish or go the traditional route, I hope this episode brings a little bit of clarity for you on your decision making.

As always, thank you for listening! see you next week!
I recently spoke with a mom friend over on Instagram and she was asking me how I went about publishing my books. I was instantly flattered because, truth be told, I love sharing my knowledge and wisdom with people. We talked and I shared tips with her and what worked for me.
after my conversation with her, I felt compelled to create an episode on the topic. There are still a myriad of people who are unaware of how to go about self-publishing a book and thankfully I can now help others who are still confused about the whole process. I hope this episode helps you on your self-publishing journey. Also, please feel free to ask me questions over on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nallely__rodriguez/

My very close friend and business owner is joining us on the show today. She recently launched a business the beginning of 2020 and has really honed her craft at what she does. Her business was an overnight success and I cannot wait until you hear her story. Marcela is a wife, mother, and entrepreneur who is still learning to navigate it all.
Today she will give us a little bit of back story of how she got started pursuing her passions and how she does it all. It's no easy feat managing a business, ministry while being a mom to littles.
This is her story. Be encouraged today friends. You can find Marcela on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sugarrush_cakepops/ and on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sugarrushcakepops/

It seems that everyone is talking about "narcissism" these days. There is a myriad of podcasts, YouTube channels, blog posts about the subject. Narcissism isn't anything new, in fact we can go back to the Bible and see various people who had narcissistic tendencies. For example: Jezebel. Today's episode is one I have been prolonging but it's been weighing on my heart to share my experience with dealing with someone with these tendencies. It's tough because now matter how hard you try to to get them to empathize with you and see your point of view, they won't. In their mind, they are right, they are the victim, and the person that hurt them becomes a villain in their minds.
It's a sad reality that so many people are like this and we are just now becoming aware. If you have ever dealt with someone who is narcissistic then you know what I am talking about.
But, after dealing with people with these tendencies for a while now, I know how to respond and I also have allowed these experiences make me stronger and emotionally mature.
We must keep in mind that people are going to hurt us, and sometimes we may hurt others as well. What matters is that we apologize and also forgive the person who did us wrong. Christ commanded us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, to take up our cross, to forgive, to be kind, and well; to demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit and be just like Jesus. He alone is the perfect example of who we ought to be like.

WELCOME TO SEASON 2 EVERYONE! I missed you guys and Im so excited for this season!
I have been recording some IGTV videos over on Instagram and people have really been liking them. I recently recorded one where I shared my struggles years ago as I was trying to overcome homosexuality. I was in the trenches of depression, insecurities and on top of that trying to ward off homosexual thoughts. I was tough, trying, exhausting but there is absolutely nothing impossible for Christ and He walked with me every step of the way until I was radically transformed and healed by the power of God.
I hope you all enjoy this episode and if you do, please share it with your friends! I will also be announcing that this is the season finale of season 1 but I will be back next year for another season. I will miss you guys but lately, I've had alot on my plate and haven't made the Podcast a priority. but I will be back with more content for you guys.
I love you all and thank you for listening. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! Check out the links below:

Last week I was faced with a myriad of negative, discouraging thoughts. I had no idea why I was suddenly faced with opposition and it ruined my day and robbed me of my joy.
I want to chat today about what we can do when we face discouragement. We need to pinpoint: is this an attack of the adversary the devil, or this just me or are others trying to bring me down? When I realized that what I was coming up against was a wicked scheme from the enemy, I took it to the Lord and He immediately comforted me with His word. He brought to mind certain scriptures that have brought peace in the past and continue to do so.
Be encouraged today friend as you listen and allow the Holy Spirit to comfort you in your time of discouragement. You are an overcomer and God will always fight on your behalf!
Thank you all for listening! See you next week.
HELLO SEPTEMBER! I'm so glad that fall is just around the corner!
Today, I want to bring a word of encouragement today and help those who are currently struggling with comparing themselves to others. It is so easy to fall into that trap especially when you are first starting out on your journey.
Remember that God has capacitated you with an amount of talent, skill, creativity, and grit and there is no need to compare your gifts to others.
Comparison robs us of our joy, our peace, and makes us feel inadequate. I really hope today's episode encourages you and motivates you continue being you; the person God made you to be.
You are bold!
You are courageous!
You have what it takes!

Friends, today's episode will be unlike any other! You've been warned.
I will be chatting about some of my political views and shed some light on the BLM movement. I do want to be clear that I am not here to bash on anyone and I am all for social justice and equality. However, this movement has an agenda other than social justice and civil rights. The accommodations and changes that have taken place in our nation are clear evidence that this is way more than a fight for justice. Friends!!
I have missed you all but I took a little break from the podcast as we were dealing with some personal things but I am back and today we will be chatting about cultivating creativity and why it is important to do so.
Being a writer, we already have the advantage and are already naturally creative individuals, but we can continue to increase and cultivate our creativity so that we can produce and create more content.
Being creative evokes a sense of euphoria, fulfillment, and a sense of accomplishment so it is important that we never stop learning and never stop exercising this incredible gift of creativity.
I hope you enjoy this episode friends and place share it on Instagram and tag me @nallely__rodriguez. I want to hear from you and I want to know if this podcast has encouraged you and helped you on any way, shape or form.

Months before launching my podcast, I recorded my very first unofficial podcast episode. I initially recorded it to submit to Kingdom Winds which is a website I used to submit my blog posts, books, and anything else I created and they do an excellent job in promoting my work.
It's astounding that I've come this far! God is faithful and He gives us the ideas and creativity to achieve our goals. I hope you enjoy this episode. Please share it and tag me on your social media feeds and if you haven't subscribed, please do so, I would greatly appreciate it.

Two weeks ago, someone asked me: What is the difference between an author and a writer and why don't you call yourself an author?
I answer this question in today's episode. I also make the announcement that I will be taking a break from the Podcast to pursue a work from home opportunity and I will also be working on some eCourses to sell on Udemy and Teachable. I am looking for ways to make money from home because we recently found out that we are expecting baby #2! So, I want to help my husband as far as income goes.
I will also be featured on Bold Girl Ministry! They reached out to me months ago and asked me to write an article for their magazine and I am over the moon about this opportunity! I hope you all check out their website and subscribe to their magazine. I will link their website below.

Hello writers!! I am so happy you are here.
I am noticing new members over on our Facebook Group and I'm so glad to have each of you there.
Today we will dive a little deeper and talk about an issue a lot of people struggle with and that is: FEAR. I personally lived with the fear of people's opinions for years and it held me back from being myself and to write about the things on my heart. Growing up in a legalistic and religious environment for 20+ years greatly affected me and fear was instilled.
There is no doubt that as writers, we will face all sorts of criticism and possibly hate but hey, don't let that stop you. If God is asking you to step out in boldness and obedience and write--then do it. God will use you to make a difference and make impact in other people's lives.
Fear is crippling, paralyzing, and quote frankly; it's a bully that mocks you and picks on you constantly, but we have God's work to cling to and remind us that we are meant to live courageously and fearlessly.
I hope this episode helps you and encourages you if you 're someone who is struggling with fear of what people will say or think. Don't allow the voice of others' overpower the voice of God.

Marketing and promoting your book can seem quite daunting at first especially if you are an introvert. It can be hard to put yourself out there. Thankfully, we have many social media platforms available to us that we can utilize to promote and market our books creatively and strategically. In this episode, I will be sharing some of the ways that I have marketed my books and promoted them as well. I've mentioned in some episodes that I'm not comfortable with constant promotions and and constant "link is in my bio" or "swipe up" tactics that so many influencers use nowadays. It can get annoying and you can tell they just want to make money off of you but that shouldn't be our only goal.
These are some of the tips I discuss in the episode which by the way in the episode, I didn't number any of them--if anything, I kind if rambled in this episode but either way, I still got my point across.
1) Connect with people online (in person too, of course)
2) Ask yourself... How I can help others? How can I inspire others genuinely? When people notice how much you care and how much you love others, they may voluntarily buy your books and share them with other people.
3) Do Giveaways
4) Do free eBook promotions or discounted eBook promotions
5) Start a Facebook Writing Group and promote your work there
6) Promote your work on Pinterest
7) Paid ads with Amazon or Pinterest
8) Create creative content that will draw people to your website and or social media platforms
9) Share a snippet of your book with a picture that will compel people to read and buy your book
I hope you all find this episode helpful, if you do, please share it on your social media platforms.

In today's episode I will be chatting a little about designing your book cover. As authors, we know that this step determines the outcome of our sales as most people judge a book by it's cover.
We must make sure that our book cover is both professional and appealing to readers. It's not enough to just have a great book but also having a great book cover will make all the difference in your sales.
