Philippians 3:13–14 (CSB) reminds us to forget what is behind and reach forward to what is ahead. Paul wrote these words knowing firsthand that a messy past does not cancel a hopeful future. Jesus forgives, restores, and invites us to move forward.

James 1:17 (CSB) reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from God. That means the good things in your life—your family, friends, and even the gifts you just opened—are all reminders of how generous God is. Unlike toys or games, God’s gifts don’t break, fade, or get old. The greatest gift God ever gave us is Jesus, and He stays with us every day, not just on Christmas. God doesn’t just want us to receive His gifts. He wants us to share them. That might look like sharing a toy, using your gifts to help someone else, giving your time, or showing kindness in a simple way. So today’s challenge is this: use one of your Christmas gifts to bless someone else. When you share what God has given you, joy grows and you look more like Jesus. Remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you. They weren’t famous or important by the world’s standards, but God chose them first to show us something powerful: Jesus came for everyone.

Matthew 1:23 (CSB) says, “They will name him Emmanuel,” which means God is with us. Before the manger, before the shepherds, before the star, God made a promise. Hundreds of years earlier, He said a child would come—and that child would show us that God didn’t stay far away. He came close.

Luke 2:6–7 (CSB) tells us that when Jesus was born, He wasn’t placed in a palace or a fancy bed. He was laid in a manger—a feeding trough for animals. God chose a humble beginning to show us something powerful: His love is for everyone.

Zephaniah 3:17 (CSB) tells us something incredible: God is with you, He saves you, He delights in you, and He is quiet in His love. That means God doesn’t only show up in loud or exciting moments. Sometimes His joy meets us best when everything is calm and still.

Joshua 21:45 (CSB) says, “None of the good promises the Lord had made… failed. Everything was fulfilled.”

Today we’re talking about how choosing gratitude leads to joy—even when your week feels long or a little hard. 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (CSB) reminds us to rejoice always, pray constantly, and give thanks in everything. Paul wrote this to people who were facing real challenges, and he reminded them that gratitude isn’t about pretending things are perfect—it’s about remembering that God is still good.

Today we’re talking about the joy that comes from God’s good news. Isaiah 52:7 (CSB) reminds us how beautiful it is when someone brings good news—peace, salvation, and hope. Isaiah wrote this hundreds of years before Jesus was born, but the message was clear: God hasn’t forgotten His people. A Savior is coming.

Today we’re talking about a joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances. Habakkuk 3:17–18 (CSB) reminds us that even when everything goes wrong, we can still rejoice in God. Habakkuk lived in a really hard time, but he chose joy—not because life was easy, but because God was still good.

Today we’re talking about joy—the kind that stays with you because it comes from Jesus. John 15:11 (CSB) says, “I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.”

Hey Carpool Crew, today we’re learning that Jesus gives us peace when we feel nervous, scared, or unsure. In John 14:27, Jesus tells His friends, “My peace I give you… Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.” Even though His disciples didn’t know what was coming next, Jesus wanted them to know they would never face anything alone.

Hey Carpool Crew, today we’re learning what it means to actually make peace—not just enjoy it. In Matthew 5:9, Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers,” reminding us that kids who choose kindness instead of arguing, calm instead of drama, and gentleness instead of snapping back are showing the world what God is like.

Hey Carpool Crew. Christmas is a season full of excitement, surprises, and sometimes a few big feelings too. In today’s special What Would You Do If… subscriber episode, Pastor Justin talks about something every kid experiences at some point. What if you do not get the gift you were really hoping for? This episode helps kids understand how to handle disappointment with gratitude, kindness, and joy. Using Bible verses like Acts 20:35, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Luke 6:45, and Ephesians 4:32, kids learn why it is better to give than to receive, how our reactions show what is in our hearts, and why honoring the giver always matters, even when a gift is not exactly what we wanted.

Hey Carpool Crew, today we’re learning why the angels announced “peace on earth” the night Jesus was born. Luke 2:14 tells us that the angels didn’t bring this message to kings or famous people—they shared it with ordinary shepherds, showing that God’s peace is for everybody. Kids who feel confident and kids who feel shy. Kids with big friend groups and kids who sit alone sometimes. Families that seem put together and families that feel a little messy. Jesus came for all of us.

Hey Carpool Crew, today we’re learning how Jesus gives us peace when we feel worried, stressed, or nervous. Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us that instead of holding all our worries inside, we can pray and ask God for help. And when we do, His peace protects our hearts and minds even when life feels messy or loud.
