Tracks in the Snow: The Creatures Beyond Explanation; The Skinwalker Ranch
In the high desert of northeastern Utah, there is a place where footprints appear without warning… and stop just as suddenly.

Skinwalker Ranch has become one of the most infamous locations in the world—linked to massive wolf-like creatures, shapeshifters drawn from Indigenous lore, mutilated livestock, glowing orbs, and encounters that defy biology, physics, and reason. Witnesses describe animals that can’t be injured, creatures that seem to vanish mid-stride, and tracks in the snow that lead nowhere.

In this episode of Chillworthy, we trace the history of Skinwalker Ranch—from early rancher reports to government-funded investigations—and examine the creature sightings that continue to haunt the land. Are these cryptids? Interdimensional beings? Psychological projection? Or something far more unsettling?

Because at Skinwalker Ranch, the evidence doesn’t just disappear.

It stops.

Liese Dodd's Voice: A Life Silenced
Liese Dodd was weeks away from becoming a mother when her life was brutally taken. What began as a troubled relationship would escalate into one of the most disturbing crimes in recent memory—leaving a community searching for answers and justice..

In this episode of Chillworthy, we walk through the timeline of Liese’s final days, examining the warning signs, the relationship dynamics, and the events that led investigators to uncover the truth. From the initial disappearance to the shocking discovery and eventual sentencing, this case exposes the devastating consequences of intimate partner violence and the failures that can occur when threats are dismissed.

While the details are unsettling, our focus remains on Liese—her life, her voice, and the justice pursued in her name. This is a case that demands to be told, not for shock value, but to ensure she is remembered and that her story is not reduced to the brutality of how it ended.

Christmas Morning, Broken Forever
On Christmas morning in 2011, in Grapevine, Texas — a city proudly known as the Christmas Capital of Texas — a family gathered in a quiet apartment to exchange gifts, share laughter, and celebrate the holiday together. The lights were on, the presents were opened, and for a brief moment, everything felt normal.

Then there was a knock at the door.

Standing outside was a familiar figure dressed as Santa Claus. What should have been a symbol of joy and tradition instead marked the beginning of unimaginable violence. Within minutes, six members of the same family would be dead,  their lives taken during what should have been one of the happiest mornings of the year.

In this episode of Chillworthy, we examine the Santa Claus massacre,  a calculated and deeply personal act driven by financial collapse, marital breakdown, and a man unraveling behind the costume he wore. Through a chilling final text message, a whispered 911 call, and evidence of careful planning, this case exposes how desperation and control can masquerade as reconciliation and how horror can arrive wrapped in holiday cheer.

Listener discretion advised.

Whispers Beneath the Trees: The Disappearance of Theresa Ann Bier
In June of 1987, sixteen-year-old Theresa Ann Bier vanished in the rugged wilderness near Shuteye Peak outside of Bass Lake, California — and the explanation given for her disappearance would become one of the strangest in true crime history.

Theresa had gone into the mountains with an older man she trusted, reportedly on a trip to look for Bigfoot. She never came home. The man returned alone, offering shifting stories — including the chilling claim that Theresa had been taken by a creature lurking in the forest.

Despite extensive searches and decades of investigation, Theresa was never found. In this episode of Chillworthy, we step into the dense Sierra Nevada woods to examine the facts, the contradictions, and the eerie silence left behind.

What really happened beneath the trees that day? And why does this case continue to haunt investigators more than 35 years later?

This is the story of a young girl, a wilderness that keeps its secrets, and whispers that refuse to fade.

Cold Waters of Minneapolis: The Chris Jenkins Case
On Halloween night 2002, 21-year-old college student Chris Jenkins stepped out for a celebration at a Minneapolis bar — wearing a costume, carrying no coat, phone, or wallet, and full of holiday-spirit. Not long after midnight, he was kicked out. A few hours later, Chris vanished.

Four months later, his body was recovered from the Mississippi River, caught between logs near downtown Minneapolis. What began as a supposed drunken accident or suicide grew into a far darker mystery: discrepancies in the police investigation, conflicting forensic findings, and claims by Chris’s family that he was abducted, assaulted, and thrown into the river.

In this episode of Chillworthy — Cold Waters of Minneapolis: The Chris Jenkins Case — we retrace the night that changed everything. We examine the bar-exit, the missing belongings, the conflicting testimonies, and the haunting questions left unanswered. Was it a tragic accident? A moment of despair? Or a targeted act of violence? Despite the official ruling of homicide, no one has ever been charged. The river took Chris, but justice remains lost.

We know some of you were waiting on Part 2 of “Screams in the Sunshine State.” Unfortunately, technical issues caused the loss of that episode — we’re genuinely sorry. We’re working hard behind the scenes to recover or re-record it, and we’ll share an update as soon as we can. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and support.

Screams in the Sunshine State: Four Days of Fear in Gainesville
In August 1990, Gainesville, Florida was shaken to its core. Over the span of just four days, five young college students were brutally murdered — a series of attacks that plunged the city into fear and forever altered the lives of families, classmates, and an entire community.

In this episode of Chillworthy, Talia and Brent revisit those terrifying days: how the victims were discovered, the growing panic that sent thousands of students fleeing campus, and the overwhelming uncertainty that gripped Gainesville as investigators raced to stop an unknown predator.

The episode explores the lives behind the headlines, the futures cut short, and the emotional aftermath that still echoes decades later. And we look at how these real-life tragedies went on to influence the creation of a cult-classic horror film — a reminder of how deeply this case embedded itself in American culture.

Halloween’s Darkest Walk: The Taylor Van Diest Story
On Halloween night in 2011, 18-year-old Taylor Van Diest left her Armstrong, British Columbia home dressed in costume, excited to meet friends for an evening of harmless fun. It was a night that should have been filled with laughter, small-town festivities, and teenage memories. Instead, it became one of the region’s most haunting tragedies.

When Taylor didn’t arrive as planned, worry turned to fear. She was soon found gravely injured near a set of train tracks — the victim of a brutal, senseless attack that sent shockwaves far beyond her community. As investigators raced to uncover what happened, fragments of forensic evidence, a chilling text message, and a growing list of unanswered questions all pointed toward a predator hiding in plain sight.

In this episode, we retrace Taylor’s final walk, the discoveries that unraveled the truth, and the complex legal journey that followed. We explore how a town’s Halloween celebration was forever marked by violence, how Taylor’s family fought for justice, and how her case continues to echo years later.

The Woman in the Pines: The Unsettling Case of Judy Smith
On September 7, 1997, hunters roaming the dense, mist-covered trails of North Carolina’s Pisgah National Forest stumbled upon something far more chilling than wildlife. Scattered across the forest floor—near a quiet, remote campground—lay human bones, clothing, and personal items, most gathered around a shallow grave.

Forensic investigators determined the remains belonged to a woman between 40 and 55, known only by the clues her body carried: a severely arthritic knee, a torn bra marked with deep holes and cuts, and bones bearing the unmistakable signs of a violent stabbing.

When the victim was eventually identified as Judy Smith, a devoted mother and nurse who had gone missing under puzzling circumstances, the story only grew darker. What was Judy doing in a forest hundreds of miles from where she was last seen? Who brought her there—and why?

This week on Chillworthy, Talia, and Brent unravel the haunting and bizarre disappearance of Judy Smith, a case tangled in secrecy, conflicting timelines, and a brutal end hidden beneath the pines.

Secrets of the Barbizon: Glamour, Dreams, and Darkness
The Barbizon Hotel wasn’t just a place to stay — it was a promise. For generations of young women arriving in New York City with stars in their eyes, the Barbizon was their first taste of independence, sophistication, and hope. Behind its elegant brick façade and strict “ladies only” rules, it offered safety, sisterhood, and a chance to become someone. Its residents included models, debutantes, writers, and actresses — women like Sylvia Plath, Grace Kelly, and Joan Didion — all drawn to its mix of exclusivity and possibility.

But within its pristine halls, whispers of loneliness, heartbreak, and obsession grew louder. The Barbizon’s walls have seen more than polite conversation and shared dreams — they’ve witnessed despair, scandal, and death. When tragedy struck within the hotel’s walls, it shattered the illusion of glamour and exposed the darker side of ambition and isolation in mid-century Manhattan.

In this chilling episode of Chillworthy, we explore the Barbizon’s haunting legacy — from its glittering beginnings to the night a dreamer’s life was cut short. Was it an accident? A desperate act? Or something far more sinister? Step inside the Barbizon, where every hallway tells a story — and not all of them have a happy ending.

Hidden in Plain Sight: The Silence Around Kendrick Johnson
On January 11, 2013, the body of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson was discovered inside a rolled-up gym mat at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia. Authorities quickly ruled his death an accident — a tragic mishap, they said, when Kendrick tried to retrieve a shoe and became trapped inside the mat. But almost immediately, nothing about the story made sense.

Security footage appeared incomplete. His organs were missing when the body was returned to his family. Blood evidence was ignored. And witnesses changed their stories. As the official explanations grew thinner, Kendrick’s parents began their own investigation — one that exposed inconsistencies, uncovered lost evidence, and challenged powerful local authorities who seemed intent on staying silent.

More than a decade later, the questions remain: How did Kendrick really die? Why were crucial details mishandled or hidden? And who benefits from the silence that still surrounds this case?

In this episode of Chillworthy, we trace the disturbing timeline of Kendrick Johnson’s death, from the moment he was last seen alive to the years of protests, reopened investigations, and lingering shadows of a cover-up. It’s a story of grief, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of truth in the face of systemic silence.

Echoes of Devil’s Den: A Family Shattered
A summer day at Devil’s Den State Park should have been filled with laughter, love, and the simple joy of family. Instead, it became the site of a devastating crime. Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were brutally stabbed to death while their two young daughters stood only steps away. It was the girls’ quick actions—alerting nearby adults—that brought help, but not before unimaginable loss had already unfolded.

The manhunt that followed gripped Arkansas. Investigators traced a trail of evidence—security footage, DNA, and witness accounts—that led to the arrest of 28-year-old elementary school teacher Andrew James McGann. He now stands charged with two counts of capital murder and has entered a plea of not guilty.

As prosecutors weigh the possibility of the death penalty, questions remain: what led to this horrific attack, and why were the Brinks targeted? In the Season 2 finale of Chillworthy, we focus on the lives of Clinton and Cristen Brink, their love, and the family they built—while also unraveling the investigation that shocked a community and turned a state park into a crime scene.

Premature Verdict: What Happened to Crystal McCrory Jones?
On February 9, 2023, Crystal McCrory Jones was found dead in her home in Oak Grove, Louisiana — a single gunshot wound to the head. Within less than two hours, her death was ruled a suicide.  The official inquiry? A seven-minute interview. No autopsy. No forensic follow-up.

Crystal’s sister, Jana, isn’t buying it. And neither are we.

In this episode of Chillworthy, we answer Jana’s call — and step into a case riddled with contradictions: bruises dismissed as “lividity,” a missing shell casing conveniently “found” later by her husband, and a cremation that was rushed before questions could even be asked.

Now, with renowned private investigator Sheila Wysocki on the case, Jana is fighting not just for answers — but for accountability in a town where silence has been easier than truth. Was this a suicide? Or was it a story written too quickly by people too close to the badge?

Footsteps in the Attic: The Hinterkaifeck Murders
In late March of 1922, the Gruber family and their maid were living quiet, isolated lives on a remote Bavarian farm known as Hinterkaifeck. But unsettling events began to break the silence. Footprints appeared in the snow leading to the home—none leaving. Keys vanished. Footsteps echoed from the attic, though no one should have been there. Days later, six bodies—Andreas and Cäzilia Gruber, their daughter Viktoria, her two children, and their new maid—were discovered brutally murdered.

A century later, the questions remain: Who stalked the Grubers in those final days? What compelled them to stay despite the signs of danger? And how did a killer live undetected on their farm after the murders, feeding livestock and eating meals as the bodies lay just yards away?

Join Chillworthy as we unravel the eerie timeline, dissect the most compelling theories—from vengeful neighbors to secret lovers and wandering soldiers—and explore why the Hinterkaifeck murders still haunt true crime investigators and paranormal enthusiasts alike.

Cursed by the Calendar: The Dark Lore of Friday the 13th
It’s the date that makes even skeptics shudder — but why? In this haunting episode of Chillworthy, co-hosts Talia and Brent peel back the veil on the superstition, symbolism, and real-life horrors behind Friday the 13th. From medieval betrayals and Norse mythology to secret societies and Hollywood slashers, this episode dives deep into how a seemingly ordinary day became the most feared date in Western culture.

You'll hear chilling stories of historical tragedies that occurred on Friday the 13th, the strange psychology of collective fear, and how pop culture — especially a certain hockey-masked killer — turned the superstition into a full-blown phenomenon.

Is it just an unlucky coincidence… or are we all living under a shared curse?

Dim the lights, turn up the volume, and get ready for a date with darkness. This one’s Chillworthy.
