Diagnosed with a chronic illness, Maddison used her lived experience to create HUG & Spoons Co., a clothing line designed to bring comfort, dignity, and empowerment to chronically ill individuals. With support from the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, Maddison accessed resources, mentorship, and startup programming that helped turn her idea into a growing business. Episode 24: In today’s episode, we explore the innovative and boundary-pushing world of design in the Bachelor of Design in City Innovation (BDCI) program in UCalgary’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape (SAPL). We’re joined by passionate students Chloe and Hayley, along with Chad Connery, Assistant Professor at SAPL, who share what it’s like to be part of a program that challenges conventions, fosters world-building, and prepares students to address today’s most pressing issues.
