This Christmas Eve service opens with our kids joyfully telling the story of Christmas, then invites us into Luke 2:8–12, where heaven declares good news for all people. In a world full of uncertainty, we’re reminded we don’t have to be afraid—Jesus has come, and He reigns over our lives.

During Advent we celebrate Jesus as the proof and perfection of God’s love. His love transforms us, secures us, and works on our behalf.

Advent reminds us that we serve a joyful God. Jesus is God’s joyful gift, and our promise of enduring joy. Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit who plants, waters, and grows joy in every season.

Jesus brings transformative and enduring peace to each one of us. It’s an active peace that runs deeper than our circumstances, past our pain, and stands guard over our hearts and minds.

During Advent we are celebrating how Jesus brings us continual experiences of Living Hope, and the promise that one day every hope will be perfect perfectly, and finally fulfilled

This sermon, “Why the Next Generation?” in the series Why Do We Do That?, emphasizes that investing in children, teenagers, and young adults is a biblical mandate rooted in passages like Psalm 78 and Deuteronomy 6. It teaches that faith is meant to be passed intentionally from one generation to the next through modeling, discipleship, and active participation in the life of the church. The message highlights that the next generation is not only the church of tomorrow but also the church of today, already responding to God and contributing meaningfully to ministry. Jesus instituted communion as a sign of his new covenant, and a way for us to be reminded of the new life he brings to us. The scriptures clearly teach us how and why all believers must continue to participate in communion.

In Matthew 7, Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount with a promise that if we build our lives on Him, we will survive every storm.

The difference between a true and false Disciple of Jesus is a heart matter. No amount of good works can make one true - only their relationship with Jesus Christ.

In Matthew 7 Jesus teaches us that we should carefully evaluate anyone who claims to speak on behalf of God or direct us in the ways of God to make sure they are leading us on the narrow road that leads to life.

In Matthew 7:12 Jesus tells us to treat others as we want to be treated. This simple, clear, all-encompassing command is only accessible as we experience His grace and mercy. When we practice it, it brings life and joy into many of our relationships.

In Matthew 7:7-11 Jesus teaches us to engage in prayer first, often, and with faith because we’re communicating with our Father who loves to give good gifts to his children.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us to have moral discernment rather than an attitude of judgmentalism. He emphasizes self-reflection first before reaching out to point out the sin in the lives of other believers.

In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches us that worry has no place in his kingdom. Worry is worthless, harmful and a sin. Jesus shows us how we can replace worry with trust in God, peace in our identity, and in seeking his kingdom first each day.

In Matthew 6:19-24 Jesus teaches us that our investments reveal and reinforce what is in our heart. In his kingdom, internal transformation is the driving force for every external action.

God invites us to be part of his story through our giving. In 2 Corinthians 9 we learn about the expectation, practice and blessing of living a generous life.

God’s story always involves gathering us to himself, placing us in growing communities of faith, and sending us out to gather more people into His kingdom.
