In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’M BACK! Let’s just call the last three week the Great Computer Meltdown of 2013. This was a first for me based on the last three computer builds. Apparently, the stock Intel heatsinks that come with the i7 processor (can’t speak to the others) is faulty and didn’t connect squarely with the processor to keep it cool. I won’t bother with the remaining details because it really just pisses me off to no end.
This set was pretty much sealed prior to (see above) but once I got back online (yesterday) I picked up some new promos and decided a few in the mix were already old. Yup, in my world of EDM, one day you're in and the next you’re out.
Why bother going into what a kick-ass set this is because it’s Party Favorz and you know it’s gonna SMOKE!
Stay close to the updates either by email, RSS, Facebook or any of the other myriad of ways to follow me cause I got a lot to get off my chest between now and the end of next week. More on that as I continue to post.
Hope everyone’s summer is going swell and I’ll be checking back in very soon with another set. Until then …ENJOY!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 9 (Take 3)
Seven mixes, two weeks, and 18+ hours of the latest in deep, electro, funky, progressive, and soulful house music later, I have finally finished the Christmas Trifecta!  I can assure you that I'll NEVER do this again.  There is way too much work involved in putting this much out in such a short period of time.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, initially this was just going to be the final Electro-Funk mix of the year, but it evolved into the final editions of Deep and House as well.

Frankly, I'm just glad it's done.  I've got stuff going on all this week, but somehow, someway I plan on knocking out the Holiday Edition by the weekend.  It's looking like a three-mix situation and I'll do my best to keep everything around the 80-minute mark.  That generally involves a lot of editing on my part and I suppose it's something I need to get back to since I've always done that until recently.

Anyway, I'm a busy bee, so I don't have the time to talk much about the mix or post-purchase links.  I just hope the powers that be can forgive me and I'll be back to posting the links on my next mix.  I will say that if my ratings are a little harsh, it's because I'm getting sick of all these mainstream mixes that keep coming out with weak female vocals that are covered up in the mix.  There's only so much room for Britney wannabe's and frankly, she does it better than all of them.  Regardless, sometimes there is a song that is catchy enough to earn a five-star rating, but that is becoming rarer these days.  I can deal with the stupid lyrics, just give me some great fracking vocals for Pete's sake!  I digress.
As we move deeper into the holiday season, I hope everyone is all siked about Santa's visit in a couple of weeks, as I'm certain he has some goodies up his sleeve.  Don't forget to submit your wishlist for the year-end edition.  If you don't, it will solely be based on my picks and we don't want that now do we?  I hope to be back on Friday with the first of the Holiday mixes...until then, ENJOY!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 9 (Take 2)
I'm going to be perfectly honest with you guys, my heart just isn't in this at the moment.  Hopefully, that doesn't reflect too poorly in this mix, but I'm afraid it might.  I still have a third take on this that will be posted tomorrow.  Maybe once I get to work on the Holiday Edition this weekend, I'll snap out of it.  Regardless, the songs contained in this mix, for the most part, are excellent.  My jewel of the moment is the Fred Conti mix of DJ Bradd & Pepper Mashay "Heaven".  I was listening to it on the road the other day and found myself hitting on the gas pedal.  Thankfully, I didn't get a ticket...LOL.  I'll be back tomorrow with the third and final installment of the Christmas Trifecta (Deep, House, and Electro-Funk).  Until then...Enjoy.

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 9 (Take 1)
To suggest that this mix is over the top, excessive or, even egotistical would be an understatement.  The truth is, there are two times a year when the market gets flooded with new music; obviously during the summer and during the winter.  Why do you ask?  Because these are highly coveted times to have a dancefloor hit.  It's when people vacation, relax, let loose and escape all the bullshit realities of life.  To have a hit during these peak times generally translates into money.  It's pretty much that simple.

Nevertheless, experience has taught me that oftentimes (especially in the U.S. market) there will be several key songs on this series that will not hit clubs, much less radio until February or March of next year.  We tend to be behind the rest of the world when it comes to trends and new music.  It is what it is and I don't see the brainiacs in the dance industry changing anytime soon.  Everybody wants to follow the tried and true old way of doing business and nobody wants to be the bellwether of dance, much less a trailblazer.  Therefore, it's my job to bring to you some (<---operative word) of the brand-spanking new tunes you may or may not be hearing during this holiday season; if not, there's a good chance you'll be hearing them in early Spring.  At the very least, you can say you heard it here first.

The obvious selections are included like Britney and Madonna, nothing new there (but we do still love our Madge and Brit Brit).  However pay close attention to several personal faves like Honey's " Don't Think I'm Not", Dario Nunez & David Vio feat. Nieves' "Be Yours",  Room For Two's "Roots Before Branches", Kathy Brown vs. White Knights' "Sound of the City", God Diaz & Young Rebels' "Don't You Want Me", Brown Sugar & Niko De Luka feat. feat. Dawn Tallman's "Good Night", Danny Dove & Steve Smart feat. Abigail Bailey's "Doesn't Really Matter" and Pimp Jam feat. Norma Lewis' "Feel U Feelin' Me" which are my picks to click.

Actually, with so much new music to pour over, I'd say everything between the two sets (and there's a lot) have equally as good of a shot of coming to a club or radio station near you in the not-so-distant future.  Granted, these are only my picks and everything here is subjective.  That doesn't mean I'm right, nor does it mean I'm wrong.  It just means after one preview, this is what I was digging, and I hope you do as well.  So, you tell me what YOU think.  Did I make the right choices? Are these songs just the shit, or are they really crap?  I'll leave it up to you guys to decide.
Just a reminder that the Take 2 of everything posted so far begins on Friday and we should have everything wrapped up on Tuesday.  I plan on making another deviation mix, something I like to call the Blender Edition.  This will be something I plan on going forward with next year, but I'll go into detail about that sometime next week.  Until the next time...ENJOY!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 8 (Take 3)
Wrapping things up with the third and final installment of the Electro-Funk Edition v8, I'm giving you a mix a bit longer than the first two.  I have to tell you, this is quite possibly the most difficult mix I've made all year long.  First I started out with over 240 mediocre songs and what looked like a four mix set.  Fortunately, a lot of great stuff came out between the time I started this mix about 3 weeks ago and now.

My process is usually to preview all the songs that I want to use for a specific mix and then start the process of elimination, giving each song about 10 seconds before I make up my mind.  Then I throw everything together in one giant mix, burn it to mp3 disc and preview it (in my car, at home or in the gym) and decide which final songs will make the cut.  Then I go back and do the official mix generally in one take and edit down as necessary.  This go around, I had a bitch of a time deciding what to keep and what to throw out.  Even after I made my final decisions, about 1/4 of the songs had mismatched beats.  Meaning, they were way off.  Usually, I expect a few, but this was way too many.

So then, I had to painstakingly go back and manually adjust the beats to line them up.  Talk about a fracking pain in the ass.  Regardless, I got up early this morning to finish this final mix so I can enjoy the rest of my day.  I hope I caught everything, because sometimes at 2:00 in the morning, I'm not necessarily all there if you know what I mean.  The next Deep Edition is starting to shape up that way as well, though the majority of the songs appear to be mixing together quite nicely, so the only issue is what to get rid of.  I'm going to try to keep it down to a three mix set with each mix coming under 80 minutes.  That mix should be out this next week sometime and then I'll start working on the Halloween Edition.

I've also got our next guest DJ lined up, and this is something you gotta hear.  I'll get into details this next week when I post the mix, but I will say that it's deep, dark and FIERCE!
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a great weekend and as always...ENJOY!

Title : Let It Go (Stonebridge Vocal Mix)
Artist : Stonebridge & Wawa
I'm not really sure why these two had to collaborate on something either one of them could have easily done themselves.  Frankly, I was expecting a lot more.
Track : 2
Title : Angel On My Shoulder (Funkerman Mix)
Artist : Kaskade
What a completely different track compared to the original or the awesome progressive EDX mix.  Certainly Funkerman tailor made this for the floor to great effect.  Essential.
Track : 3
Title : Shut Up And Let Me Go (Chris Lake U.K. Vocal)
Artist : The Ting Tings
I've already used the Johnny Vicious mix back in Pride and more recently the kickass Seamus Haji mix in my Electro-Funk v7 from August.  So why go back now and add the Chris Lake mix?  Why not...this is the song that just keeps on giving.  Essential.
Track : 4
Title : I Want To Be Evil (Spencer & Hill Remix)
Artist : Giant JT vs. Eartha Kitt
Delectable, delightful and absolutely DELICIOUS!  Always love me some Eartha and this doesn't disappoint.  Now I'm hoping someone will go back and give us some 2008 mixes of 'Where Is My Man".  Essential.
Track : 5
Title : Last Goodbye (Spencer & Hill Remix)
Artist : Avenue
I know you must be thinking, Keith a fracking boy band???  What the fu....?  Folks, trust me on this one.  Think of it like eating cotton candy.  Tastes really sweet, but doesn't last near as long as it should,

Track : 1
Title : I Surrender (PF Pumping Extended Mix)
Artist : Kate Ryan
Hi-NRG electro-pop track with mainstream appeal.  Sugary?  Yeah.  Infectious?  You bet.  Personally can't get this one out of my head.  Should do very well at radio as well as the floor.  Look out for Kate's new album 'Free'. Outstanding.
Track : 2
Title : Heaven Can Wait (Chris The Greek Mix Extended)
Artist : Luvndreams feat. Elisa Rodriguez
Track : 3
Title : Move (Soul Avengerz Mix)
Artist : Soul Avengerz feat. Zena Chavez
Serious electro-funk with some serious vocals that cannot be denied.  Massive floor filler is the best way to describe this song with a really deep groove.  This further proves that the Soul Avengerz are in complete control and delivering some of the best beats so far this year.  Essential.
Track : 4
Title : You Make Me Feel (Extended Mix)
Artist : AnnaGrace
Song has already hit dance radio and is currently moving up Billboard's Club Charts.  With a variety of mixes, what's not to like.  You want funk...got it.  You prefer electro...got it.  Need some more radio friendly...got that too.  Essential.
Track : 5
Title : Medicine (Extended)
Artist : Kim Leoni
Track : 6
Title : Like The Way I Do (Sunloverz Remix)
Artist : 2-4 Grooves
Unlikely remake of the Melissa Etheridge classic.  With it's deep electro grooves, this works on all levels.  Heck, even the vocals recall Melissa's awesome rendition.  Outstanding.
Track : 7
Title : Grass Is Greener (Original Club Mix)
Artist : Dave Aude feat. Sisley Treasure
The first release from Dave's label is a serious dancefloor contender.  This is my current pick to click.  Expect this to blow up very soon.  Also watch out for the kick-ass Jody Den Broeder mix.
Track : 8
Title : Up (Riffs & Rays Remix)
Artist : The Saturdays
Track : 9
Title : Irresistible (Stonebridge Club Mix)
Artist : Tom Belton
Track : 10
Title : Dream On (Warren Clarke Club Mix)
Artist : Christian Falk feat. Robyn
Christian Falk is a Swedish producer/artist and has teamed up with Robyn for his latest album 'People Say'.  Warren delivers an uncharacteristic 80s electro mix that would fit nicely into any John Hughes soundtrack. It's not difficult to picture Cyndi Lauper singing this song.  Be sure to check out the equally amazing Moto Blanco mix.  Essential.
Track : 11
Title : Turn The Tide (Orginal Mix)
Artist : Manian feat. Aila
Picture song #1 with a slight early millennium Ibiza beat.  Sugar-coated electro pop that's sure to please even the most finicky sourpuss.  Essential.
Track : 12
Title : Touch Me (Bart B. More Remix)
Artist : Bingo Players vs. Chocolate Puma
Yeah, like this song needs anymore attention.  Essential.
Track : 13
Title : Smash Disco (Vandalism V8 Mix)
Artist : Vandalism
Fun electro in the form of something the Starkillers might put out.  With silly lyrics that are easy to remember, I can see every electro-queer shaking their ass off on the floor.  I'm not saying there's anything original about this, but it ranks high on the fun factor scale.  Essential.
Track : 14
Title : Stop (Diego Donati vs. F&A Factor Club Mix)
Artist : Consoul Trainin feat. Joan Kolova
Fabulous electro-house with beautiful vocals and wonderful lyrics.

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 8 (Take 1)
I woke up this morning to find a deep chill in the air.  I like to sit on the patio and have my morning cup of coffee and just kinda meditate in the dark, but I went back in to grab my sweats because my bones just couldn't take it.  Regardless, the sun is already coming out and I can see blue skies for the remainder of the day.  Yet again, another wonderful fall day here in the ATL.
I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to post this until next week; thankfully an anonymous donor contributed the $40 necessary to keep my Podbean account alive.  That's a good thing because this is the first of three mixes to be posted over the next few days for volume 8 of the Electro-Funk series.  I'm almost finished with the next Deep Edition which will be up next week.  Since I moved all my Guest DJ mixes up, there may be a gap between now and the next mix.  I guess that's okay considering my self-imposed rest never got off the ground.  As you can see by the 'Coming Soon' preview to your left, I've got a ton of stuff scheduled to come out between now and early November.
This month, I'm still not out of the woods, as I'll be buying all new tires for my car next week, plus it's time to renew the tags.  So, $5 donations to the site are certainly welcome to help things keep chugging smoothly along.  Barring any unforeseen incidents, I should be back to normal next month.
In the meantime, sit back and enjoy...I'll be back tomorrow with take 2.  Have a great day!

Title : Love Hangover (DJ Spen Club Mix)
Artist : Joey Negro
A re-work of Joey's remake from back in the 90s.  Though I'm not familiar with the original, I gotta say that DJ Spen's mix works on so many levels.  Basically this mix retains the integrity of the original, while delivering something fresh, phatt and phunky for today's dancefloor.  Essential.
Track : 2
Title : Givin' All My Love (Original 12'' Vocal Mix)
Artist : Starjackers feat. Wilson Roberts

Track : 3
Title : Changes (Chris Lake Vocal Mix)
Artist : Will Young
The UK inaugural 'Pop Idol' winner returns with a great bluesy tune re-worked by the very talented Chris Lake.  With its thumping bassline and Chris' breathy vocals, what's not to like.  Currently in my top ten must play list.  Essential.
Track : 4
Title : Sunglasses At Night (Carl Kennedy Remix)
Artist : Carl Kennedy feat. Peter Millwood
Back in the late eighties, some friends and I headed out to Austin's (TX) infamous 6th street for partying.  I remember flying high as a kite and having a great time barhopping and just being as loud as possible.  Around midnight, two tweens passed us on the sidewalk with sunglasses on.  Being my usual obnoxious self who feels compelled to point out the pretentiousness of others, I turned around and began singing as loud as I could the Corey Hart song famous at the time.  My friends and I followed them as they joined in the course until they ducked into a bar and were promptly thrown out for being underage.  We all just busted a gut laughing at the expense of someone else's idiocy.  Oh, and the song...true to the original and will definitely have the floor moving.
Track : 5
Title : All Alone (Love Assassins Vocal Dub)
Artist : Filthy Louca
I absolutely adore this song.  It reminds very much of the huge Layo & Bushwacka 'Love Story' from back in 2002.  Just one listen and you too will be addicted.  This deserves to be MASSIVE!  Essential.
Track : 6
Title : Tomorrow (Jean Claude Ades Remix)
Artist : The Kiosk
Electro floor stormer with a very unique guitar twist.

Just a reminder, this will be my last mix for awhile since I need to focus on some other things for about a month or so.  In the interim, I'm hoping to get several DJ's onboard who are interested in submitting a mix and I will create the cover art and promote you and/or your blog/MySpace/Facebook page.  As this site continues to grow at a steady pace each day, you'll have very good exposure.  If interested, please contact me through the 'about me' section of this site where you'll find my email address. I want to take this opportunity for the loyalist among you who have contributed (whether financially or comments) and subscribed to alerts via feed or email; you're always appreciated and I won't be gone that long.  In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys this mix and if you're living in the London vicinity, why not head on over the West End and check out Electroqueer night @ Barcode.  Doors open at 8 pm and it should be a lot of fun!  I should be back in about 30 days or so. Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 6 (Take 3)
Right now, our apartment is in total disarray.  We've had painters coming in and out since yesterday, and are expecting the floorers later this afternoon to replace the carpet, laminate floors, and tiling.  Yippee!
Anyway, everything has been a mess and difficult to maneuver in.  Hopefully, after today everything will begin to be normal (though I don't think all of our junk will be back in its place until this weekend).
As a result, I haven't had much time to preview this or the final mix.  I'm hopeful that it's okay.  I should wrap this series up later this week and expect to begin work on the Summer House mixes shortly.  I made a promise to get my workspace organized and clean, so I'll spend Saturday cleaning up that mess.
Until then, I'll keep the electro juice flowing, and as always...Enjoy!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 6 (Take 1)
It's gettin' HOT IN HERE, so take off ALL your clothes!  We had a nice reprieve in the middle of the week when a cool front came through bringing temps down to the low 60s at night and low 80s during the day with a nice cool breeze.  Well, that's gone and we're back in the sweltering heat.  It's so fracking hot and sticky, it makes me want to strip naked and streak through downtown Atlanta like a crazed loon screaming at the top of my lungs about the end of days...LOL.
Needless to say, summer is in full swing and I've got some sizzling house that's gonna bring the temperature even higher.  Turn it UP and tune in, because this is the first of four mixes coming out this week in the Electro-Funk series.
No, your eyes did not deceive you, there's so much great music out right now, a simple two-volume set wasn't going to cut it.  Between this series and the impending Summer House Edition, I can assure you, all of your house music wishes shall be granted and fulfilled.
As you can see, the site has taken on a new look and feel.  I'm hoping that all the complaints I've received about the readability will now subside.  While the font size will remain the same, if you're still having difficulty reading you can always increase the text size by clicking on 'Page' in the upper right-hand corner of Explorer and then go down to 'Text Size' and make any changes you wish there.
Though I'm not familiar with Firefox, Opera, or Safari, I'm certain the same can be done with those browsers.  I've also added more functionality to the site.  On the right-hand side just below 'Search This Site' you'll notice that I've grouped all of the mixes for easier navigation.  This way, if you only wanted the Deep Editions, they're all lumped together so you no longer have to browse through the pages or sift through the archive (which is still available in the lower right-hand corner).  If for any reason you land on a page that only shows the 'Comment' box, 'click' back and you'll get to the page you originally requested.  The new Blogger development team made some changes to the comment section and it's kinda screwy right now.  Not much I can do until they finalize this latest version.
Over the next few weeks, I'll be making some minor changes and additions.  I hope this is to everyone's liking because this anal-retentive bitch ain't gonna make any more big changes like this for a very long time...LOL.  Sometimes I just drive myself bat-crazy with my obsessive-compulsive behavior.  I guess I just can't help myself.
I realize I've spoiled you guys (and gals) with a regular Friday post, however that's changing.  If you haven't already, I highly recommend subscribing to this site.  Over the next two months, my posts will be staggered but frequent.  So if you want to be kept up to date, now would be the perfect time to sign up for notifications.
That's all I got for now, just expect a lot more to come in the near future.  Make sure you wear enough sunscreen, drink plenty of water and as always... ENJOY!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 5 | Pt. 1 & 2

It's that time again for some funky electro-house music! Before I get into that, I want to bring everyone's attention to the "Party Favorz 'T' Collection". To your left, you'll notice I opened up a store with a whole selection of t-shirts sporting the kick-ass-cool (if I do say so myself) "Party Favorz" logo. This is something I've been meaning to do for a while and have already placed my order for several T's for my partner and myself.

So, if you wanna sport something really nifty all the while hip, go check it out and see what flavor you like. I have two different logos; the first is the 'deteriorated' logo currently sported on this site and the other is the original shiny 'metal' logo I used when I had the subwoofer's on the site...hmm, maybe I'll go back and incorporate that into one of the designs.

Anywho, you get the silk-screened logo with the "Party Favorz" motto "Use It Up, Wear It Out...Then Do It Again" emblazoned across the front on a high-quality 100% cotton shirt. You also have the option of going for the 'heavy cotton' fabric or lighter weight for those really hot days. Frankly, I don't think there's anything cooler than that. So if you wanna be the 'party favor' or just show your support, why not drop in and pick something out for yourself and your signifigant other?

Furthermore, "Party Favorz" is currently looking for a few good men. Obviously, I have my Pride Edition coming out in June and thought it might be a good idea to have you guys or anyone interested, submit your hottest pics. If you think you got what it takes to grace the cover of the Party Favorz 2008: Pride Edition, email me a HIGH-QUALITY shot for consideration.

As mentioned in my 'welcome' message, house music knows no boundaries and neither does Party Favorz. After all, HOTNESS comes in all stripes. So, whether you're of Asian persuasion, a Latin lover, sexual chocolate or just plain ole vanilla send your pics to kjamproductions@gmail.com for consideration. The person selected will not only grace the cover of the 2008 Pride Edition but will get to pick out a tee from the Party Favorz Collection and have it shipped for free anywhere in the world. Submissions must be received no later than June 7, 2008. The preferred resolution is 300 dpi or higher (please no 72 dpi) and include your first name, state, and country.

In other news, I've decided that there is a great deal of cross-pollination occurring between the Funky and Electro-Funk Editions. Going forward, I will consolidate the two editions. What I decided to do was to share the tunes between the Electro-Funk and the newly created House Edition. Which means, they will both have funky house tunes on them. The style of the mix will determine what edition they ultimately end up on. Regardless, you get more funk for your trunk! Now isn't that what it's all about?

Finally, I plan on beginning work on the next installment of the Classix Edition, which should be a whole lot of fun! Instead of honing in on a specific year, this go around I'll be targeting a decade. More specifically, the 90's! Though the underground house scene began percolating in the mid-80's, it wasn't until the nineties that it reared it's beautiful head and crossed over into the mainstream. Remember Robin S, Crystal Waters, Lisa Stansfield & Ce Ce Peniston?

Of course, you do and that's why I'm so excited about this mix. All and all, it should be a lot of fun and a great beginning to the summer. Speaking of Crystal Waters, she's clearly adapted to today's house scene and has a sizzling new tune on this edition! I can't say enough about "Dancefloor" her latest effort with Speakerbox. So get ready for some seriously electrOfying funk! I hope everyone has a great weekend...and as always,

Enjoy!
