In John 10, Jesus takes a common understanding of a good shepherd and adds a big surprise...not only will the Good Shepherd die for His sheep, but He will rise again to give them abundant life. In this parable, we consider three reasons Jesus says He comes to earth: to reveal God and His truth, to offer life through His death, and to build the kingdom of God through His resurrection life.
