We find that Jesus loves all His children and gives gifts to each one to build up the body. Jesus trusts and expects His children will use their gifts, but this is part of a spiritual battle for the hearts of each person. God invites us to understand what He is doing and join Him in that battle.

Living in grace requires being connected to the Vine, vulnerability, and bravery. If we are willing to live in this kind of grace, it transforms our hearts. Many of us struggle with good things that take hold of our hearts, but Jesus invites us to the one thing that matters...HIS heart.

The tax collector knows he has nothing to offer except his need. Jesus says he goes home justified. Jesus is our Savior, but it is hard to keep our eyes on Him. Three things can help us: to know that focus on Jesus is not weakness but strength, salvation is not weakness but strength, and humility is not weakness but strength.

In this parable, we consider three reasons Jesus says He comes to earth: to reveal God and His truth, to offer life through His death, and to build the kingdom of God through His resurrection life.

When we truly see God for who He is, it changes how we see everything, including ourselves. The same God who began the work is still shaping, still refining, still revealing His image in us. We may feel unfinished but the Artist has already signed His name. Join us as we slow down long enough to behold Him and, in doing so, begin to become like Him.

As Jesus tells the parable of the weeds, He reveals some things about the Kingdom of Heaven: we have an enemy (but he is not the only enemy); we are in a battle (but our part of the battle is to reflect our Maker); and we know God wins (but we do not know all the details). Jesus invites us to see His great controversy with Satan but to not fear it, because God wins.

Speaking this Sabbath is Simon Liversidge. In Luke 15, Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep, illustrating His love for His lost children. In this story, we also understand three characteristics of humanity: God made humans in His image. We still bear His image but because of sin, our nature is sinful. Through His love, God restored humanity into relationship with Him and invites us daily to live in the image in which He made us to live. Too often we try to make God in our image, while God desires to remake us in His image.

Speaking this Sabbath is Simon Liversidge. Being connected with Jesus brings joy! Jesus is connected with His Father, and now shares His joy with us through His Spirit. Just as David danced before the Lord, we see Jesus become vulnerable as He takes off His outer coat to wash His disciples' feet. Like David, Jesus also knows He is chosen and loved and that He has an audience of One - His Father. Joy is found as He shares that intimate moment with others.

In Mark 4:26-34, Jesus shares two parables about how His kingdom grows mysteriously, progressively, and expansively. God is at work in us whether we see it or not. But He invites us to not only invite Him to grow us, but to be a part of His growth plan for others.

The Spirit helps us to pray in Jesus' name, with Jesus' heart, and in Jesus' love. The Spirit is our Guide to help us see how God is at work and why God is doing or not doing what we ask in prayer. The Spirit invites us to be actively and audaciously inviting God to work through our prayers.

Speaking this Sabbath is our Lead Pastor. In Matthew 21, Jesus tells the parable of the tenants. This parable highlights how the religious leaders are going to reject and kill Jesus. But, this rejection will result in Jesus dying for the sins of the world and becoming the cornerstone for His kingdom. Jesus demonstrates humility & invites us to learn from Him. Jesus' humility is foundational for us and our faith, our transformation, and our future.

In the parable of the prodigal son, we get insight into how good He is; He defies all expectations as He gives graciously, joyously, and generously. As we come to understand how much God gives us, we are able to deal with many of the addictions, fears, and stressors in our lives.
