The Avengers issue #500 is the beginning to the end of an era. The story arc known as Avengers Disassembled deconstructs the mythos that these Marvel Avengers have held for 40 years. In this story T Avengers get hit hard, and then harder again, and then even harder. Some of them die, some walk away, and one even goes full villain. And in the end the team you knew and loved will never never exist again (you know until they reboot it). Bendis starts his long and awarded Avengers run here by breaking down the foundations in order to build back more rich and full characters we all grew to love.
