“THE HEART OF STEWARDSHIP” — A Sermon on Trust & MoneyThis message explores Jesus’ teaching on stewardship from Matthew 25 and why it’s NOT really about money, it’s about the heart. God owns everything; we simply steward it. And one day, the Owner will return to settle accounts.Jesus shows that good stewardship leads to joy, while neglecting what God entrusted leads to loss. But the deeper issue? The heart.“You cannot serve God and mammon.” — Luke 16:13Money can deceive, greed can pull us from faith, and trust becomes the real challenge. Jesus watched how people gave, not how much (Mark 12). God is drawn to a sacrificial, trusting heart.Giving works greed out of us and aligns our treasure with our heart.“God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7 Where is your heart? In Romans 15:14–21, Paul reminds us that we are filled, called, empowered, and sent. God doesn’t just save you, He fills you with His goodness, calls you by His grace, empowers you through His Spirit, and sends you out on mission. This message challenges us to see that spiritual maturity isn’t about settling down, it’s about stepping out. You already have what it takes because God has already placed it inside you. When grace calls, grace equips. And when you stay connected to the Spirit, His power flows through you.Whether you’re in ministry, at work, or just trying to live out your faith day to day, this message will remind you that your purpose is bigger than your comfort. In a world divided by opinions, Paul reminds us in Romans 14 that the church was never meant to be uniform, but unified. In this week’s message, Pastor Jamie Grisham shares a powerful word on “Unity Without Uniformity.” From the early church in Rome to our world today, we’re reminded that:• Differences aren’t defects, they’re design.• Disagreement doesn’t have to mean division.• Convictions are personal, not weapons.God intentionally built His Church with different backgrounds, strengths, and perspectives to reveal His fullness. When love opens the door, the lost walk in—and unity births revival. Key Takeaways:• Don’t judge where someone has freedom.• Don’t flaunt freedom where someone has conviction.• Choose people over preference.• Pursue peace and build each other up.Romans 14:19 — “Let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.”Watch now and discover how to live in unity, walk in grace, and reflect the love of Christ in every difference.FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj

Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”• Romans 13:14 – “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”Message Highlights:• Wake Up – Recognize the urgency of this kairos moment. In this powerful message, Pastor Tommy Hodges walks us through one of the most practical and transformative chapters in the New Testament, Romans 12. After spending eleven chapters explaining the mercy and grace of God, Paul shifts gears with the word “Therefore…” calling believers to live differently because of what Christ has already done for us.📖 Romans 12:1-8 reminds us that we are called to be living sacrifices — fully surrendered, set apart, and alive for God’s purpose. In this message, you’ll discover what it truly means to: • Surrender your life completely to God (Romans 12:1–2) • Serve faithfully using the unique gifts He’s given you (Romans 12:3–8) • Love others with genuine, Christlike love (Romans 12:9–21)Many of us find ourselves asking:👉 “What do I do now?”👉 “Where do I go from here?”👉 “What is my purpose or calling?”Pastor Tommy reminds us that if you’re still breathing, God has an assignment for your life. But to walk in that assignment, you must first come into alignment with His will. That begins by presenting your life as a living sacrifice, dying to self, living for Him, and saying no to your own agenda so you can say yes to His.“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, this is your reasonable act of worship.”-Romans 12:1Through this teaching, you’ll learn:- How to renew your mind through spiritual transformation- What it means to live crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20)- How to find your God-given assignment by first walking in alignment- The difference between conforming to the world and being transformed by the SpiritWhether you’re searching for direction, desiring deeper intimacy with God, or wanting to discover your spiritual gifts, this message will inspire you to live a life fully devoted to Jesus.Scripture References:Romans 12:1–8Galatians 2:20 Key Themes:Living Sacrifice | Surrender | Transformation | Renewing Your Mind | Spiritual Gifts | Purpose | Alignment | Assignment | Romans 12Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
This week we dive deep into Romans 11:13–24, where Paul uses powerful imagery, first fruits, roots, and branches, to reveal what it really means to belong to the family of God.
Key Themes in This Message:
• First fruit & Lump of Dough (Numbers 15) If the first portion is set apart for God, the whole batch is considered holy.
➤ If God has made the root holy, everything connected to it shares in that calling.
• The Olive Tree Analogy, Some branches were broken off, and we (Gentiles) were grafted in.
➤ Don’t boast, stay humble. We don’t support the root… the ROOT (Jesus) supports us.
• What Does “Holy” Really Mean?
It’s not about being morally perfect, it means being set apart for God’s purpose.
• Jesus: The Root of Jesse (Isaiah 11) The promised shoot from the stump who brings life not just to Israel but to all nations.
• Warning & Encouragement (Romans 11:22)
➤ “Consider the goodness and severity of God.”
Our place isn’t secured by performance, but by persevering faith. Stay rooted. Don’t drift.
ABIDE | Not Achieve
Jesus said in John 15:4-5, “Abide in Me… for without Me you can do nothing.”
He isn’t commanding us to produce fruit, He’s inviting us to stay connected.
👉 My reward is the FRUIT. My responsibility is to ABIDE.
⸻
Watch now and ask yourself:
✅ Am I truly rooted in Christ?
✅ Have I drifted into arrogance or unbelief?
✅ Am I striving, or abiding?

In Romans 10:6-13, Paul makes it clear, salvation is not about works, striving, or religious zeal. It’s about believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. When God gets hold of a heart, everything changes. We are transformed from the inside out, set free, made new, and filled with His Spirit. This message unpacks what it means to truly be born again, to live a Spirit-driven life, and to walk in the freedom of salvation through Christ alone. Pastor Jamie also addresses the reality of the brokenness in our world, the tragedies, violence, and evil we’ve witnessed, and points us back to the truth: the issue isn’t politics or weapons, it’s the condition of the human heart.💡 Key Points in This Sermon: • Only Jesus can save, zeal, works, or religion cannot. • A Spirit-driven life brings new desires, new identity, and transformation. • The heart, not external issues, is where evil begins, and where God redeems. • God’s heart is for the lost, He seeks, saves, and restores. • The church is God’s answer for the world, unity is our witness.Scriptures covered: Romans 10:6-13, Mark 7:21-23, 2 Peter 3:9, Luke 15:7, Luke 19:10, Matthew 18:12-14, Numbers 11:23Be encouraged: Lost people matter most to God. Romans 9 opens with Paul’s heart breaking for his people, the Israelites. Even though they had received incredible blessings from God, so many missed that Jesus is the Messiah. His grief shows us what it means to love people who are far from God with compassion, humility, and urgency. In this message, Pastor Jamie unpacks what it means to have a heart that breaks for what breaks God’s heart. From Paul’s sorrow in Romans 9, to the warnings of grieving the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 63 and Ephesians 4, we’re reminded that rebellion and disobedience don’t just break rules, they wound the very heart of God.Key takeaways from this sermon: • A broken heart for the lost | Like Paul, do we ache for our neighbors, family, and friends who don’t know Christ? • God’s promises never fail | Belonging to God is not about pedigree, background, or performance, but about His promise fulfilled in Christ. • Grieving the Holy Spirit | Our choices, attitudes, and words can bring sorrow to God’s Spirit when we resist His work in us. • Everyone has a story, but all need Jesus | Our past, religion, or morality can’t save us. Only Christ can. This is a call to pray, to weep, and to witness with urgency. If Paul could weep for Israel, and Christ could die for the world, then surely we can let God break our hearts for the people right in front of us.Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
God’s Got This | Romans 8Have you ever been let down by someone you trusted? Trust is fragile, it takes time to build, but it can be broken in a moment. The question is, what about when it comes to God? Can He really be trusted not to drop the ball with your life?In this message, Pastor Jamie unpacks Romans 8 and reminds us of these powerful truths: • God’s plan is greater than our pain (Romans 8:16-18) • God’s presence is greater than our weakness (Romans 8:26-27) • God’s purpose is greater than our circumstances (Romans 8:28)No matter what you’re facing, suffering, weakness, or uncertainty- you can trust that God is for you, with you, and working all things for your good. He’s never missed a catch, and He never will.👉 What do you need to place back into God’s hands today? Your marriage, your future, your struggles? Freedom. Power. No Condemnation.Romans 8 is one of the most powerful chapters in all of Scripture, it’s the Spirit-filled remedy for the struggle with sin that Paul describes in Romans 6-7.➡️ In Romans 6, Paul tells us we are no longer slaves to sin, Jesus has broken sin’s chains.➡️ In Romans 7, he describes the felt experience of that struggle, the frustration of wanting to do right, but constantly falling short.➡️ And in Romans 8, he reveals the answer: the Spirit’s liberating power that brings freedom, life, and peace.Romans 8:1 declares: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…” This is not just a pardon from past sin, it’s a legal verdict with liberating power. Through union with Christ, we are brought under a new ruling power: the law of the Spirit of life. No longer ruled by sin and death, but set free to walk in Spirit-led victory. In this message, Pastor Jamie unpacks what it looks like to live a Spirit-governed life: • Why there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ • How God accomplished in Christ what the law could never do on its own • The difference between living by the flesh and living by the Spirit • The reality that two mindsets lead to two destinies: death or life & peace • How the Spirit dwelling in us fulfills God’s promise in Ezekiel 36 - to give us a new heart, a new spirit, and the power to walk in His ways • Why pleasing God requires faith, dependence, and a life yielded to the SpiritPaul reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us. That resurrection power is not only the guarantee of eternal life, it’s the strength for daily victory over sin. This is more than information; it’s transformation. The gospel does not just release us from penalty, it empowers us by the Spirit to walk in obedience, holiness, and freedom.📖 Key Scriptures: Romans 6-8, Ezekiel 36:26-27, Hebrews 11:6, Revelation 2Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: / compassiondickson INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionc...Sunday Extended Podcast: • Sunday Extended
What happens when we truly encounter the glory of God? In Isaiah 6, the prophet steps into the temple and is forever changed. He doesn’t just feel the presence of God, he experiences His power, His holiness, and His glory in a way that shifts everything. Isaiah enters undone, aware of his own brokenness, but he leaves cleansed, forgiven, and ready to respond to God’s call: “Here am I, send me.”
Encounter Sunday is a moment for us to do the same, to position ourselves in the presence of God and hunger for more than just a good feeling. His presence can be felt, but His glory transforms. It takes us from comfort to conviction, from weakness to empowerment, from merely attending church to becoming the Church.
If you’ve been longing for breakthrough, deeper intimacy with God, or clarity in your calling, this is the place to draw near. Come hungry, come expectant, and come ready to respond. Because when you step into the glory of God, you won’t leave the same, you’ll leave transformed, filled, and sent.

The Struggle Is Real | Romans 7:15–25 | Victory in ChristIn Romans 7:15–25, the Apostle Paul gives voice to a struggle we all know too well, the tension between our desire to follow God and the reality of the sin nature within us. This passage isn’t just a description of inner conflict; it’s a roadmap to understanding our flesh and the victory that comes only through Jesus Christ.Paul reveals the truth we all wrestle with: • The Law reveals sin but cannot rescue us. • The struggle is real - a tug of war between our desire to please God and the pull of sin. • The war within doesn’t define our identity; it drives us to depend on Christ. • Deliverance comes through Jesus - not our willpower, but the Spirit’s liberating power.👉 Romans 7 shows us the battle.👉 Romans 8 shows us the breakthrough. If you’ve ever felt the tension between wanting righteousness yet wrestling with sin, this message will encourage you that you’re not alone -Nand that victory is possible through Jesus Christ.Key Scriptures:Romans 7:15–25 | Galatians 3:24 | 1 Peter 2:11 | James 1:14 | Proverbs 24:16 | Galatians 5:24
Just because you struggle doesn’t mean you quit fighting. True freedom is found in Jesus.
In this sermon from Romans 6:1-23, we explore what it means to be truly free from sin through Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes our total separation from sin—our old self is crucified with Christ, and sin no longer has dominion over us.Though we have victory, many still live as if they are bound by sin. This message challenges us to choose daily between walking in sin or living a holy life empowered by God’s grace. Grace is not an excuse to sin but the power to overcome it.We dive into the root of sin as unbelief and rebellion against God’s truth, and the necessity of a transformed nature rather than mere habit change. Salvation calls us to live righteous, holy, and set apart lives. It’s time for the funeral of the old self—will you rise and walk in newness of life?Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
🔥 Refined Through Pressure | Romans 5:1-5 Sermon | Compassion Church DicksonLife is hard, but God is working through it.In this powerful message, we dive into Romans 5:1-5, where the Apostle Paul flips the script and teaches us to glory in tribulations. Not because pain feels good, but because God uses it to transform us.- Tribulation produces perseverance.- Perseverance builds character.- Character leads to hope that never disappoints. From coal turning into diamonds under pressure, to gold refined by fire, God is shaping us through the trials we often try to avoid. This isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s about trusting the Potter even when life feels like it’s falling apart.Key Points: • God doesn’t waste suffering - He uses it to build strength, depth, and hope. • Trials aren’t the end of the story; they’re the tools of transformation. • Our hope is not in outcomes, but in God’s promises.📖 Scriptures: Romans 5:1-5 | James 1:2-3 | Hebrews 6:19 | Romans 15:13Whether you’re in a storm, coming out of one, or heading into one, this message will anchor your heart and remind you that there’s power in pressure.Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe to stay encouraged and connected to what God is doing through Compassion Church Dickson.Follow us!Website: https://www.compassiondickson.church/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondickson

Romans 1 isn’t just ancient history - it’s a mirror for today’s culture and condition. In this message, Pastor Jamie Grisham walks us through Romans 1:16-32, showing how the power of the gospel still speaks to a broken world, calling us out of darkness and into the light of Christ.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel… it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)
The Gospel is Power: It’s not just teachings - it’s transformational truth. It crosses cultural lines and brings real change.
God’s Wrath Is Real: His holiness demands a response to sin. Suppressing truth doesn’t erase accountability.
Idolatry Today: When we replace God with anything else- pleasure, identity, status - we exchange glory for brokenness.
God “Gave Them Up”: Not that He gave up on humanity, but He allowed them to chase their desires - which always leads to destruction.
There Is Hope: Even in judgment, God’s grace is available. Christ came to redeem, forgive, and restore.
Like sunflowers made to follow the sun, we were created to face the Son. But when we turn away, we wither. The world is dark, but Jesus is the light.
This message will challenge, convict, and remind you why the gospel is still our only hope.

God Is Working - In Spite of Us | Romans 3 | Sermon by Pastor Jamie Grisham
What if God’s goodness didn’t depend on our performance?
In this powerful sermon from Romans 3, Pastor Jamie Grisham dives into a deep truth we often forget: God is still good, still faithful, and still at work - even when we fail.
🔹 God doesn’t shrink to fit our doubts or our limitations.
🔹 His righteousness isn’t canceled by our mistakes.
🔹 He doesn’t need our permission or perfection to be who He is - HOLY, JUST, and GOOD.
From the history of Israel to the condition of our hearts today, this message reminds us that our sin doesn’t stop His salvation, and our unfaithfulness doesn’t undo His faithfulness.
📖 Key Scriptures:
Romans 3:1-26, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 John 3:7, 2 Corinthians 5:21
Whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for years or you’re questioning your faith, this message will challenge and encourage you to trust in the unshakeable righteousness of God.
This week’s message is a challenging continuation of Paul’s letter to the Romans. After confronting the visible and culturally obvious sins in Romans 1, Paul now turns his attention to something more subtle—but just as dangerous: self-righteousness.In Romans 2, we see a bold and honest call to evaluate the condition of our own hearts. Paul warns that judging others while committing the same sins ourselves not only reveals hypocrisy, but also a misunderstanding of God’s character and grace.Pastor Jamie shares how easy it is—especially for church people—to become critical of others while quietly justifying our own actions. We may condemn someone for their public sin while hiding our private struggles. But God is not fooled. He sees the heart, and He does not show favoritism.Key questions this sermon invites us to wrestle with: • Are we using grace as an excuse to avoid real change? • Are we more interested in appearing righteous than actually being transformed? • Do we truly believe that Jesus came not just to save us from hell, but to lead us into a completely new way of living?Paul reminds us that it’s not judgment, shame, or religion that leads to repentance - but the goodness of God. When we misuse grace or assume it gives us a pass to continue in sin, we miss the point entirely. Grace is not a “get out of jail free” card. It is the doorway to a new life. This message is a powerful reminder that: • Real repentance begins with honest self-reflection. • Our lives - how we live, speak, and treat others - reveal what we truly value. • God’s call is not just to believe in Him, but to belong to Him and be changed by Him.Key Scriptures:Romans 1:32Romans 2:1-5, 11Luke 6:37 - 38Mark 7:15If you’ve ever wrestled with judgment, hypocrisy, or the tension between grace and truth, this message will speak to you. God is not calling us to religious performance - He’s calling us to surrender and transformation. To learn more about Compassion Church Dickson or to support the ministry, visit: https://www.compassiondickson.church/
