TEMPTATION: The Shiny Lure with a Hidden HookAny fisherman knows the truth, a lure may look good on the outside, but it’s deadly underneath. Temptation works the same way. The enemy never offers what he can give, only what he wants to take.In this sermon, we walk through Matthew 4 and discover that Jesus wasn’t just resisting temptation, He was exposing it. From the wilderness to the Word, this message reveals how the enemy targets our appetites, our identity, and our worship, and how Scripture is our greatest defense.🔥 Key truths from this message:• Temptation often comes through good-looking lesser things• Being in a wilderness doesn’t mean you’re out of God’s will• The devil tempts with shortcuts, not weakness• Misused Scripture is still a lie• You don’t win temptation by being strong, you win by being anchored in the Word📖 Scriptures Covered:Matthew 4:1–111 John 2:16James 4:7Luke 4:14If you’re facing temptation, or walking through a wilderness, this message will remind you that God isn’t punishing you… He’s forming you.👉 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share this message with someone who needs encouragement today.FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
What Happens When God Disrupts Your Comfort? | Genesis 12:1-9In this powerful message, we dive into Genesis 12:1-9 and explore how God’s call to Abram disrupted his comfort, security, and plans for the future. Abram was called to leave behind everything familiar and step into the unknown, trusting God’s promises rather than seeking explanations.Key Takeaways:• God’s Disruptive Call: When God calls us to new beginnings, it often feels like the end of something. But every disruption is an invitation to something greater.• Leaving the Familiar: Abram had to leave his country, his people, and his father’s house—symbolizing the need to step out of old habits, mindsets, and comforts to embrace God’s new plans for our lives.• Faith Walks on Promises: Abram didn’t get all the details, but he moved forward on God’s promises. Faith isn’t about waiting for explanations, it’s about trusting what God has already said.• Small Steps, Big Faith: Abram’s journey was marked by movement, worship, and flexibility. His simple obedience to God’s call created a legacy of faith.Challenge for You: What is your “So Abram went…” step today? Have you ever had an encounter with God that changed everything? In this Christmas message, we walk through Mary’s encounter with God in Luke 1 and discover how His presence interrupts ordinary life, replaces fear with purpose, and invites everyday people into extraordinary calling.Mary wasn’t looking for an angel, she was simply living her life. Yet God met her right where she was and changed the course of history through her surrender. This sermon reminds us that favor isn’t comfort—it’s calling, and that God still invades real life with His presence today. In this sermon, you’ll hear about: • How God calls the unlikely to do the unimaginable • Why fear is often the first response to divine change • The power of asking honest questions and trusting God • How miracles are conceived in surrender, not perfection • Why Christmas happened because a teenage girl said “yes” • The truth that nothing is impossible with GodMary was young, poor, and unknown, but chosen by God. If you’ve ever felt insignificant, overlooked, or unsure of your purpose, this message is for you. God doesn’t wait for religious perfection—He meets us in real life and invites us to trust Him.Key Scripture: Luke 1:26–38Key Truth: “Nothing is impossible with God.”If this message encouraged you, consider sharing it with someone who needs hope this Christmas season. Are You Willing to Go Out of Your Way for the ONE?From Andrew bringing Peter, to Philip inviting Bartholomew with a simple “come and see,” Scripture shows us a powerful truth: God reaches people through people. In John 4, Jesus intentionally goes out of His way to pass through Samaria, crossing cultural, social, and spiritual barriers, to meet one woman at a well. At noon. In her shame. And in her thirst. This message challenges us to ask:• How far are we willing to go to reach those far from Jesus?• Do we recognize the thirst in the people around us?• Are we willing to offer the Living Water that truly satisfies?Jesus knew what the world still forgets:• Everyone is thirsty.• Temporary wells always run dry.• Only Christ brings lasting peace, hope, and fulfillment. From celebrities to neighbors, from the successful to the broken, people are drinking, but they’re still thirsty. And we have the water. As we close, we take time for a powerful prayer moment, lifting up the names of people we know who are thirsty, asking God for boldness, and trusting the Spirit of the Lord to move.👉 Don’t miss this message.👉 Bring your faith.👉 Bring your expectation.👉 And be ready to say—and help others say—“GIVE ME THIS WATER.”FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
Stirred to Give: When God Puts Something in Your Hands In today’s message, we walk through the powerful journey of Israel from Exodus 12 to Exodus 36 — and what it teaches us about obedience, stewardship, and the condition of our hearts.God never intended for His people to walk into freedom empty-handed.In Exodus 12, the Israelites leave Egypt carrying silver, gold, and garments, blessings placed in their hands by God Himself. But the real question is: What do we do with what God gives us?When God blesses us, we often start to feel like owners instead of stewards. From Exodus 13–24, the people lived selfishly, and by Exodus 25, when God calls them to bring an offering, their hearts weren’t ready. And like Israel in Exodus 32, when what we have isn’t surrendered to God, it becomes something that demands our worship. But everything changes in Exodus 35.Hearts were stirred. Spirits became willing. Obedience returned. And the result? In Exodus 36, the people brought more than enough — so much that Moses had to tell them to stop giving. Imagine a church overflowing with generosity because hearts were stirred by the Spirit of God!This message challenges us to ask:👉 Why has God put this in my hands?👉 What am I holding onto that belongs to Him?👉 Will I let God stir my heart again? We end today with a call to take the biblical test of generosity, not out of pressure, but out of a willing and cheerful heart.“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart… for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7Join us for prayer, communion, and a moment of heartfelt response as we ask God to stir our hearts, renew our obedience, and prepare us to make room for what He is building in our city and beyond.FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
In today’s message, we dive deep into what it truly means to walk in ordered steps, to return to God with our whole heart, and to experience the open Heaven He promises to those who trust Him fully.Psalm 37:23 reminds us: “The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.”This isn’t passive guidance, this is a military term of submission, sequence, and obedience. If we want our lives in order, we must put God first, align our hearts, and walk out faithful obedience. From there, we journey through Malachi 3, where God confronts Israel’s drift from His ordinances and calls them back with a powerful challenge, a test, and a promise:THE CHALLENGE“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…”The storehouse, the local church, is where God provides spiritual and physical nourishment. Tithing isn’t about fundraising; it’s about covenant. It’s personal to Jesus because the Church is His Bride. When we withhold, we don’t just keep money—we rob God of the blessing He longs to release in our lives.THE TESTGod says, “Try Me. Test Me. NOW.”Tithing is a two-way test, our obedience is proven, and God’s faithfulness is demonstrated. This isn’t preached because the church is hurting, but because people are hurting. Tests take us to another level.THE BLESSINGGod promises: “I will open the windows of Heaven… you won’t have room to receive it.”Most believers live under a closed Heaven and settle for it. But God is looking for provers, those whose investment invites His involvement. When we do our part to prove, God does His part to pour. He even rebukes the devourer, protects our harvest, and causes nations to call us blessed.TITHING & THE NEW TESTAMENTIs tithing still relevant under grace?Absolutely. Because tithing was never just law, it was covenant, predating the law by hundreds of years (Genesis 4, 14, 26, 28). Grace doesn’t lower the standard of giving; it elevates it. Under the law they returned 10%. Under grace, we give generously, voluntarily, and cheerfully, not less, but more.Jesus Himself affirms this in Matthew 23:23: the issue wasn’t tithing, it was distorted priorities. And Hebrews 7 shows Jesus receives our tithes today as our eternal High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.Christ transforms routine giving into relational worship.KEY TAKEAWAYYour steps can be ordered.Your heart can return.Your faith can be tested.Your Heaven can open. What if God is not a liar?He guarantees blessing through giving. The question is: Will we trust Him?If this message blessed you, make sure to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE so you never miss a word that could change your walk with God.FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
“THE HEART OF STEWARDSHIP” — A Sermon on Trust & MoneyThis message explores Jesus’ teaching on stewardship from Matthew 25 and why it’s NOT really about money, it’s about the heart. God owns everything; we simply steward it. And one day, the Owner will return to settle accounts.Jesus shows that good stewardship leads to joy, while neglecting what God entrusted leads to loss. But the deeper issue? The heart.“You cannot serve God and mammon.” — Luke 16:13Money can deceive, greed can pull us from faith, and trust becomes the real challenge. Jesus watched how people gave, not how much (Mark 12). In Romans 15:14–21, Paul reminds us that we are filled, called, empowered, and sent. God doesn’t just save you, He fills you with His goodness, calls you by His grace, empowers you through His Spirit, and sends you out on mission. This message challenges us to see that spiritual maturity isn’t about settling down, it’s about stepping out. You already have what it takes because God has already placed it inside you. When grace calls, grace equips. And when you stay connected to the Spirit, His power flows through you.Whether you’re in ministry, at work, or just trying to live out your faith day to day, this message will remind you that your purpose is bigger than your comfort. Like Paul, may we all say, “Here I am, send me.”📖 Key Points:1️⃣ Filled for Ministry – God fills before He sends.2️⃣ Called by Grace – Grace doesn’t just save you; it sends you.3️⃣ Empowered by the Spirit – It’s not about what you do for Christ, but what Christ does through you.4️⃣ Driven by Mission – Maturity moves us from comfort to calling.🎧 Listen now and be encouraged to step into the purpose God designed you for!FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
In a world divided by opinions, Paul reminds us in Romans 14 that the church was never meant to be uniform, but unified. In this week’s message, Pastor Jamie Grisham shares a powerful word on “Unity Without Uniformity.” From the early church in Rome to our world today, we’re reminded that:• Differences aren’t defects, they’re design.• Disagreement doesn’t have to mean division.• Convictions are personal, not weapons.God intentionally built His Church with different backgrounds, strengths, and perspectives to reveal His fullness. When love opens the door, the lost walk in—and unity births revival. Key Takeaways:• Don’t judge where someone has freedom.• Don’t flaunt freedom where someone has conviction.• Choose people over preference.• Pursue peace and build each other up.Romans 14:19 — “Let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.”Watch now and discover how to live in unity, walk in grace, and reflect the love of Christ in every difference.FOLLOW US!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj

Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”• Romans 13:14 – “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”Message Highlights:• Wake Up – Recognize the urgency of this kairos moment. In this powerful message, Pastor Tommy Hodges walks us through one of the most practical and transformative chapters in the New Testament, Romans 12. After spending eleven chapters explaining the mercy and grace of God, Paul shifts gears with the word “Therefore…” calling believers to live differently because of what Christ has already done for us.📖 Romans 12:1-8 reminds us that we are called to be living sacrifices — fully surrendered, set apart, and alive for God’s purpose. In this message, you’ll discover what it truly means to: • Surrender your life completely to God (Romans 12:1–2) • Serve faithfully using the unique gifts He’s given you (Romans 12:3–8) • Love others with genuine, Christlike love (Romans 12:9–21)Many of us find ourselves asking:👉 “What do I do now?”👉 “Where do I go from here?”👉 “What is my purpose or calling?”Pastor Tommy reminds us that if you’re still breathing, God has an assignment for your life. But to walk in that assignment, you must first come into alignment with His will. That begins by presenting your life as a living sacrifice, dying to self, living for Him, and saying no to your own agenda so you can say yes to His.“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, this is your reasonable act of worship.”-Romans 12:1Through this teaching, you’ll learn:- How to renew your mind through spiritual transformation- What it means to live crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20)- How to find your God-given assignment by first walking in alignment- The difference between conforming to the world and being transformed by the SpiritWhether you’re searching for direction, desiring deeper intimacy with God, or wanting to discover your spiritual gifts, this message will inspire you to live a life fully devoted to Jesus.Scripture References:Romans 12:1–8Galatians 2:20 Key Themes:Living Sacrifice | Surrender | Transformation | Renewing Your Mind | Spiritual Gifts | Purpose | Alignment | Assignment | Romans 12Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
This week we dive deep into Romans 11:13–24, where Paul uses powerful imagery, first fruits, roots, and branches, to reveal what it really means to belong to the family of God.
Key Themes in This Message:
• First fruit & Lump of Dough (Numbers 15) If the first portion is set apart for God, the whole batch is considered holy.
➤ If God has made the root holy, everything connected to it shares in that calling.
• The Olive Tree Analogy, Some branches were broken off, and we (Gentiles) were grafted in.
➤ Don’t boast, stay humble. We don’t support the root… the ROOT (Jesus) supports us.
• What Does “Holy” Really Mean?
It’s not about being morally perfect, it means being set apart for God’s purpose.
• Jesus: The Root of Jesse (Isaiah 11) The promised shoot from the stump who brings life not just to Israel but to all nations.
• Warning & Encouragement (Romans 11:22)
➤ “Consider the goodness and severity of God.”
Our place isn’t secured by performance, but by persevering faith. Stay rooted. Don’t drift.
ABIDE | Not Achieve
Jesus said in John 15:4-5, “Abide in Me… for without Me you can do nothing.”
He isn’t commanding us to produce fruit, He’s inviting us to stay connected.
👉 My reward is the FRUIT. My responsibility is to ABIDE.
⸻
Watch now and ask yourself:
✅ Am I truly rooted in Christ?
✅ Have I drifted into arrogance or unbelief?
✅ Am I striving, or abiding?

In Romans 10:6-13, Paul makes it clear, salvation is not about works, striving, or religious zeal. It’s about believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. When God gets hold of a heart, everything changes. We are transformed from the inside out, set free, made new, and filled with His Spirit. This message unpacks what it means to truly be born again, to live a Spirit-driven life, and to walk in the freedom of salvation through Christ alone. Pastor Jamie also addresses the reality of the brokenness in our world, the tragedies, violence, and evil we’ve witnessed, and points us back to the truth: the issue isn’t politics or weapons, it’s the condition of the human heart.💡 Key Points in This Sermon: • Only Jesus can save, zeal, works, or religion cannot. • A Spirit-driven life brings new desires, new identity, and transformation. • The heart, not external issues, is where evil begins, and where God redeems. • God’s heart is for the lost, He seeks, saves, and restores. • The church is God’s answer for the world, unity is our witness.Scriptures covered: Romans 10:6-13, Mark 7:21-23, 2 Peter 3:9, Luke 15:7, Luke 19:10, Matthew 18:12-14, Numbers 11:23Be encouraged: Lost people matter most to God. Romans 9 opens with Paul’s heart breaking for his people, the Israelites. Even though they had received incredible blessings from God, so many missed that Jesus is the Messiah. His grief shows us what it means to love people who are far from God with compassion, humility, and urgency. In this message, Pastor Jamie unpacks what it means to have a heart that breaks for what breaks God’s heart. From Paul’s sorrow in Romans 9, to the warnings of grieving the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 63 and Ephesians 4, we’re reminded that rebellion and disobedience don’t just break rules, they wound the very heart of God.Key takeaways from this sermon: • A broken heart for the lost | Like Paul, do we ache for our neighbors, family, and friends who don’t know Christ? • God’s promises never fail | Belonging to God is not about pedigree, background, or performance, but about His promise fulfilled in Christ. • Grieving the Holy Spirit | Our choices, attitudes, and words can bring sorrow to God’s Spirit when we resist His work in us. • Everyone has a story, but all need Jesus | Our past, religion, or morality can’t save us. Only Christ can. This is a call to pray, to weep, and to witness with urgency. If Paul could weep for Israel, and Christ could die for the world, then surely we can let God break our hearts for the people right in front of us.Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/compassiondicksonINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionchurchdickson?igsh=eXp3Mm9ubG81aTQx&utm_source=qrSunday Extended Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRTsMFJ4TR5xa0PahwBjfzWK772IOi9G8&si=lsIu5iqaQwl79Jwj
God’s Got This | Romans 8Have you ever been let down by someone you trusted? Trust is fragile, it takes time to build, but it can be broken in a moment. The question is, what about when it comes to God? Freedom. Power. No Condemnation.Romans 8 is one of the most powerful chapters in all of Scripture, it’s the Spirit-filled remedy for the struggle with sin that Paul describes in Romans 6-7.➡️ In Romans 6, Paul tells us we are no longer slaves to sin, Jesus has broken sin’s chains.➡️ In Romans 7, he describes the felt experience of that struggle, the frustration of wanting to do right, but constantly falling short.➡️ And in Romans 8, he reveals the answer: the Spirit’s liberating power that brings freedom, life, and peace.Romans 8:1 declares: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…” This is not just a pardon from past sin, it’s a legal verdict with liberating power. Through union with Christ, we are brought under a new ruling power: the law of the Spirit of life. No longer ruled by sin and death, but set free to walk in Spirit-led victory. In this message, Pastor Jamie unpacks what it looks like to live a Spirit-governed life: • Why there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ • How God accomplished in Christ what the law could never do on its own • The difference between living by the flesh and living by the Spirit • The reality that two mindsets lead to two destinies: death or life & peace • How the Spirit dwelling in us fulfills God’s promise in Ezekiel 36 - to give us a new heart, a new spirit, and the power to walk in His ways • Why pleasing God requires faith, dependence, and a life yielded to the SpiritPaul reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us. That resurrection power is not only the guarantee of eternal life, it’s the strength for daily victory over sin. This is more than information; it’s transformation. The gospel does not just release us from penalty, it empowers us by the Spirit to walk in obedience, holiness, and freedom.📖 Key Scriptures: Romans 6-8, Ezekiel 36:26-27, Hebrews 11:6, Revelation 2Follow us!WEBSITE: https://www.compassiondickson.church/FACEBOOK: / compassiondickson INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/compassionc...Sunday Extended Podcast: • Sunday Extended
What happens when we truly encounter the glory of God? In Isaiah 6, the prophet steps into the temple and is forever changed. He doesn’t just feel the presence of God, he experiences His power, His holiness, and His glory in a way that shifts everything. Isaiah enters undone, aware of his own brokenness, but he leaves cleansed, forgiven, and ready to respond to God’s call: “Here am I, send me.”
Encounter Sunday is a moment for us to do the same, to position ourselves in the presence of God and hunger for more than just a good feeling. His presence can be felt, but His glory transforms. It takes us from comfort to conviction, from weakness to empowerment, from merely attending church to becoming the Church.
If you’ve been longing for breakthrough, deeper intimacy with God, or clarity in your calling, this is the place to draw near. Come hungry, come expectant, and come ready to respond. Because when you step into the glory of God, you won’t leave the same, you’ll leave transformed, filled, and sent.
