Louis had the very special privilege of interviewing his beloved piano teacher Betty Sherman. Louis has studied under Betty for many joyful years, and probably has Betty to thank for making piano so fun and interesting to him.   Louis practices very hard in his quest to become a skilled piano player, but happily stepped away from the keyboard for a chance to talk music with Betty. Harry and Josh are grandfather and grandson, and took the time to share their side project The Great Patty Melt Challenge with Landon and Kennedy of Content Camp. Today Kennedy and Louis had the great pleasure of visiting with Emmy, who is a student (along with Louis) at Acton Academy in Indiana. Louis and Emmy have know each other for several years and are well versed in Acton Academy's way of approaching education.   Kennedy is a high school student at Carmel High School, and has only experienced "traditional" public schooling. Louis transitioned from Catholic school to Acton Academy during the 3rd grade, and so has a good feeling for both traditional and nontraditional school.   We thought this conversation was fascinating as the kids shared ideas about their own school experience and tried to understand how it would feel to switch schools with each other.   If your child wants to be a part of Content Camp, we record our show on Wednesday evenings in our studio on the northwest side of Indianapolis. In this episode, Content Campers Louis and Landon interviewed the very gracious Mike Sokol of. Weaver & Sokol Insurance Agency in Indianapolis. This was a very interesting experience having two gradeschoolers interview an insurance professional when they themselves would have no good reason to know and understand the insurance game.   This is what Content Camp is all about. When you get both kids and adults into a conversation, the kids learn things they would never be exposed to at their age and the adults are incredibly enriched by the opportunity to share their knowledge. They say conversation is an art form, and Denver Abernathy is known to be able to converse on just about any topic under the sun. Tiberius and David did a great job of testing Denver's knowledge on a wide range of topics. Eventually David asked a question that gets to the heart of the matter: How did Denver get so good at conversation? The answer might surprise you! Content Camp is a video podcast run by kids. In this episode Kennedy and David had a chance to interview Content Camp Co-Founder Tony Valle about his reasons for starting Content Camp and his plans to grow the organization.  Tony believes that kids are generally not given enough freedom and responsibility to really test the limits of their own capabilities. Monty Riffer started life in Pittsburg, PA, where he was expected to work in the steel mills just like so many young men of his era. God had different plans. Monty's talent for football was his ticket out of Pittsburg and the steel mills. After a promising college career, Monty was drafted to go to Viet Nam. Immediately after returning from Viet Nam Monty married his sweetheart Kathy (now married over 50 years)!!!   Monty was kind enough to share his life story with Louis and Landon of Centent Camp. The boys asked so many questions and Monty answered them all. What was it like to not reach your dream of playing pro football? What was it like saying goodbye to your family as you left for the war? Content Camp is a club for Kid Creators here in Indianapolis. We teach video production skills to kids who are beyond 5th grade. If you have never been to the Paramount Theatre in Anderson, Indiana, you simply must put it on your bucket list! This beautiful theater is still going strong nearly 100 years after its construction, and theaters like The Paramount just aren't being built any more. Rich Jorn is the Executive Director of The Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom of Anderson, IN, and was nice enough to be our guest. Rich did such a great job of teaching us all about the theatre's amazing history.   The Content Camp video podcast is created by a crew of creator kids in Indianapolis. On-camera today were Louis and Kennedy. Great job!!!! David was technical director today and did absolutely amazing. Xavier was our sound engineer. Our very first show!!  The creative kids of content camp did the whole production: script writing, technical direction, audio engineering, on-camera talent.  Amazing!! Amanda and Gavin Swearingen were our guests, telling the amazing story of Gavin's years-long recovery after suffering a traumatic brain injury as a two-year-old.  Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!!  Gavin, you are such an inspiration!!
