This week on the podcast I had the privilege on sitting down and chatting to father of 2, Adrian Szonyi. Adrian takes us through the story of his eldest son, Leon. At just 6 months, Leon was rushed into emergency brain surgery for a rare condition called hydrocephalus (swelling of the brain). He needed immediate brain surgery to insert a shunt to regulate the fluid. Five brain surgeries resulted in Leon having hemiplegia, limiting his mobility on his left side. He was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Adrian takes me through the challenges but also the amazing steps Leon has made and how proud he is of Leon. An absolutely amazing chat!

This week on of podcast I had the privilege of chatting to father of 3, Matt Mcconnell. Matt tells the story of his daughter Wren who tragically lost her life just 8 days after birth, Matt's story is absolutely gut wrenching however his openness and vulnerability is something I have so much admiration for. After the loss of Wren, Matt selflessly created a space for dad to seek support and help through the struggles that can be so overwhelming when dealing with something that is often not openly spoken about, that being the loss of a child. Matt's work with Love From Dad and Red Nose has created a space for dads to connect with other fathers that have experienced loss to gain support and most importantly know they're not alone. As emotional as this conversation was, the way in which Matt has dedicated himself to helping others in the same situation speaks volumes of him as a person.

In today's episode I catch up on a huge few weeks for my little family, in particular my youngest daughter. Last week we had a pretty rough week with Summer being in and out of hospital. Long story short we came out all good! However we did have to make some changes to our life based on being told Summer has Reactive Airways Disease (basically childhood Asthma). I run through our experience with this in hopes it may help other parents who maybe experiencing the same things!
