The Holy Spirit, in taking me through the word, brought to my remembrance that wherever Jesus went, when he was trying to heal, trying to teach, trying to raise the dead, trying to do good. He was always faced with some kind of opposition, often in the form of offense or accusation, as when the Pharisees accused Jesus of acting in concert with the devil in order to cast out demons. He quickly pointed out their folly.

In this message, we will breakdown a number of biblical truths concerning one of the enemy’s greatest weapons, deception and the parallels between War of the Worlds in how it was used to create chaos and confusion and how, in the Bible, it was used to take man’s dominion, uproot kings and sever the relationship between God and man that could only be repaired through the blood of Christ. So that you will see, know and perceive how deception, as it was used in the War of the Worlds is still being done today and is the same trick/con that the enemy implemented throughout the Bible with no other purpose but to kill, steal and destroy.

However, throughout the Bible, since Adam and Eve and even with the temptation of Christ, the devil has taken that hardwiring for the worshiping of God to the worshipping of idols. As in our anchor verses, it’s the, “We want to be like other nations mentality.” In the wilderness, the Israelites kept tempting God, constantly saying they wanted to go back to Egypt because they identified more with their captors than with their God.

See the adversary was already among them, in Judas and Judas was being used by the devil, having already locked on to his prey, to find the opportune time to devour. But, the thing about it is, the devil wasn’t after just one. Jesus told us this. He told his disciples this about himself on more than one occasion.

The Bible is full of decisions and choices much like we find here. In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus calls for the reader to be discerning about the choices we make concerning many things, among them is the broad road and the narrow road. Matthew 7:13-14 13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

While this film definitely had some issues to work out from a filmmaking standpoint, I found the movie to be one that we should approach from a biblical perspective because in doing so, there is much wisdom, knowledge and truth to be found concerning the strategies that the kingdom of darkness uses against the Children of God.

Romans 8:38-39 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 26:40-41 40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

However, when I read these passages, the revelation that I received was, this was talking about a person who holds some sort of spiritual prowess in a home. Therefore, whomever is the strongest in that house, spiritually speaking, satan works to bind that one and, if he can, he can take the whole house. It’s like the saying you’re only as strong as your weakest link. However, if we look at the house as it is sometimes referred to, in scripture, as the one that houses the soul, if one is double minded, that house cannot stand either. And if the devil gets in there and binds the soul that lives there, it can also take this house as well.

Therefore, I am not endorsing any of these films, or saying you should watch these kinds of movies. This series are for those who have already seen these films, and already watch these kinds of movies and I am simply pointing out that nobody has any excuse to say I didn’t see, nor perceive because even in these God is making himself known to you.

Derelict, the Cambridge dictionary defines it as the failing to do what you should do. Along the same lines when you are said to be derelict in your duties, that means you have failed in doing what you have been commissioned to do.

You see, demons recognize authority. To these 7 sons they bowed not because they had no real power to command this demon to leave this man, so it overcame them instead because in the realm of the spirit, these sons were operating illegally. They were trying to gain authority based on a secondary relationship.

So, here’s another opportunity to really think about, ‘Where do I stand with God?’ What is my relationship to Jesus? Well, as it is outlined in our anchor verses, we must test the fruit, this time Jesus is speaking about that which comes from us.

That’s all fine and good, but having awoken to hear this verse over and over again, I was lead to ask the question, is this you God? I mean, it isn’t anything new for me to wake up hearing songs, lyrics and beats. And after doing this walk with God for some time, I know when it’s lesson time.

Betray: to break someone’s trust, often by being disloyal, dishonest, or unfaithful, and causing them harm in the process. It involves a violation of the expectations and promises that form the foundation of a relationship or commitment. Truth be told, we have all been met with betrayal at some point.

The Bible is a book that is brimming with stories of betrayal and it’s true, as with Jesus, there are those that ended in the shedding of innocent blood. The first story of betrayal that ended in bloodshed is of course, that of Cain and Abel.

John 10:10 KJV 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Remember the movie Die Hard, released in1988 starring Bruce Willis as the NYPD detective John McClane who becomes a one man army against a group of terrorists. Well in the movie, McClane is asked by the head terrorist in charge, Gruber, who are you then and he replies "Just a fly in the ointment, Hans. The monkey in the wrench. The pain in the…" This was his way of announcing his presence and warning Gruber of the problem he is about to become for him and his jolly band of criminals. Needless to say, Gruber was none too happy about this announcement and even more unhappy when his warning came to pass.  Because as he was soon to discover, once a fly has gotten in that ointment, you have to throw the whole thing out.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Acts 5:38-39 KJV 38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. I want to illuminate the tactics of the devil and to get you to understand how he speaks and how you will hear that same foolishness from the mouth of people because they can be used by satan just like Peter, like Judas, the Sadducees, the passersby the Pharisees and even ourselves can be used by satan to stop us from reaching our destinies. So let not your eyes be found wide shut.  

Here’s the thing; the devil knows that I’m telling you the truth. He was up there in heaven. He knows Jesus. He knows God. He knows how the word goes. He knows all of that. Even though the book that we know as the Bible was not written at the time, but the Word was made flesh, so the word was already in heaven. That’s what they don’t understand. Who are they you ask? They are all those who still don’t yet get unless He commandeth it, it shall not come to pass.
