Deadly Silent
Breaking the silence around Prostate Cancer

Host and prostate cancer survivor, Nick Owen, is joined by Dr Kanty Patel, retired NHS GP, who was treated for his own prostate cancer on the innovative  MRIdian MR linac, and Dr Prantik Das, Clinical Oncologist at GenesisCare.

Dr Patel’s radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer on the MRIdian was completed in just five days, with zero side effects. This innovative treatment is only offered in the UK by GenesisCare, at their specialist outpatient cancer care centres.

You’ll hear Dr Patel sharing details of his diagnosis and treatment with Nick, while playing a round of golf - a hobby Dr Patel was able to continue throughout his treatment.

Nick also shares his own prostate cancer diagnosis experience, and why breaking the taboo around speaking about prostate cancer is so important. We hear Nick speaking with Dr Prantik Das, who explains the importance of speaking up before it’s too late to have the best treatment options.

According to new research, nearly 8 in 10 men (79%) initially keep silent about their prostate cancer symptoms, with one in ten taking over six months to voice their concern, if they choose to do so at all.

Find out more about the Deadly Silent campaign.
