From pageant crowns to astronaut helmets, Paromita Mitra truly breaks the mold for what most define as the stereotypical “engineer”.
Paromita was born in Bangladesh and immigrated with her family to the United States at 5 years old. From a young age, STEM has been a driving passion that set her on a space trajectory. She holds a bachelors and masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State University. Paromita currently works at NASA Johnson Space Center as the lead Principal Investigator for the NextGen Spacesuit Heads up Display.
