This is the first part of a series on the book of Jonah.
Though it is a small book, Jonah packs a punch! It confronts a fleeing prophet who will be confronted by a big storm. Pagan sailors sailors that are praying while the prophet sleeps. Lastly a big fish that will lead Jonah to a place where he can experience repentance and restoration.
But let us not be too quick to look down on Jonah and his disobedient rebellion. We will discover his journey has a lot of similarities to our own.
It is to our own advantage that we study and learn from this prophet whom our compassionate heavenly Father in mercy rescued, not from a storm, but from himself.
This is the most difficult one of all the principles to apply in our marriages. Forgiveness. What is forgiveness, and more importantly, what is it not? How do I relate to forgiveness and and abusive/unfaithful spouse? We explore these questions and see how the Bible responds.
One of the most challenging principles to apply, listening before speaking. And when speaking, doing so tactfully and wisely.
In this episode we learn the importance of and how to stick to the issue at hand.
Timing. This is what we explore as ways to handling conflict in marriage, the timing in which we bring up issues that could very well lead to conflict.
