Risk is part of life, but it's within the purview of modern governments to help contain basic risks that confront all of us.  This is not something that should be left to the markets.

I've been wanting to make a blog or podcast for a while now.  There are some really important social and political issues that no one else seems to care about.  The political "debate" going on in the public sphere is a big distraction from the things that really impact most of us.  The people I know in person have stopped listening to me, so I guess I'll try my luck here lol.
