Mercy shared her perspective on the controversies surrounding age and capability in the context of Biden’s decision not to run. Finally, Mercy and Lokin talked about the role of disabled individuals in U.S. presidential elections and the challenges they face when voting. Host Mercy generously shared her personal experience as a person with a disability, recounting the various challenges and discrimination she faced growing up. She spoke about how she embraced her anger to become a disability rights advocate and scholar. As a non-disabled person, Baru shared how she first connected with the disability community, along with her experiences working in film and education for the deaf and hard of hearing.
